  1. Don't you mean lose water bottles?
  2. If true, and you are fishing deep water, why not get a NRX+? I'd get one of the most sensitive rods out there.
  3. Squarebill banging off the rocks. Only problem is if you are from shore you probably won't get it back if it hangs up.
  4. Learning a lot from replies. I figured insurance would have been a lot more. Glad I’m wrong!
  5. Maybe a dumb question, but with the smaller diameter you mention, does it not float as good then?
  6. Heck yes. It's ALL I used back in the day. I still put it on some UL spinning combos I have.
  7. I need at least 6 years before I can fish in the spring. Hopefully I can retire then!!!
  8. Nice going! I'm gonna have to up my game, can't have my neighbor to the West keep posting all these nice fish. LOL
  9. I figured mono would be popular. I've never had mono on a baitcaster so I wasn't sure how it performed vs say braid with a mono leader.
  10. Yeah basically like your "normal" sized stuff. Nothing big or small. 105 Shower Blows, KVD Splash, PopMax, 4" Spooks.
  11. I'm going to be adding most likely a dedicated topwater rod for poppers, spooks, etc. Straight braid? Straight mono? Braid with a mono leader? What works best for you? THANKS!
  12. The spinnerbait potentially has caught more bass than any other lure in the history of fishing. I don't think the bass care about the wire.
  13. How I grew up as well. Wading small rivers in Iowa on a warm summer day. Just a pair of shorts and sandals. Good times.
  14. Appreciate all the comments so far. Hopefully this can help others as well that are thinking about getting a boat. Thanks again!
  15. You guys release those or kill them? They are sorta creepy. LOL
  16. Currently don't have a boat but that will be changing. I have the funds for it, I just need to decide what I want exactly. Storage being a main "concern". Anyways, I'm curious how much you guys spend a year on your boats. I know it will depend on if you have a $5,500 boat or a $55,000 boat but I'm looking for ballpark numbers. I honestly have ZERO clue about anything boat related. So things like maintenance, unless it's really easy I won't be able to do probably. Gas Insurance Registration Maintenance Storage - will be zero for me. I'll have it at my house during the fishing season and then in my dad's machine shed during the winter. THANKS!
  17. Well, my GoPro 4 just pooped out on me, not sure why. I'm interested in this camera of yours. I hate to assume, BUT: I'm assuming it is constantly recording??? If after say the first 5 minutes you don't hit the record button, it just deletes that footage and starts a new clip? Have you used it yet? Review/thoughts on it?
  18. Oh heck yeah. I'd definitely swing by there if I was close. I like those dudes.
  19. Was always a smallmouth fan myself, hence the name. Now I hardly fish rivers, mostly smaller lakes. My first frog fish is what got me hooked on largemouth. Not sure if that's pun intended or not. The largest lake by me, still only around 400 acres has "recently" stocked smallmouth so that's exciting. It's a lake that is going to hopefully produce some really nice fish.
  20. I'd go with the thumb. ALWAYS the most accurate.
  21. Nonsense. We all know why you "lost" the spring. It's not fooling me and I doubt your wife either!!! That is good customer service though which is sometimes hard to find nowadays.
  22. Well hopefully the wait will be worth it!
  23. Oh gotcha, yeah we were talking about completely different things. I thought the thread was interesting, I mean that boat is COOL. LOL I had no idea you were talking about price. I've been on other forums where people get "upset" about reviving old threads, which never made sense to me. My apologies.
  24. I saw that as well. LOL
