Ascend 12
I'm a member of a small kayak group of 11 guys. While I've never been in one 4 of them have Ascend's and I've never heard one complain about it.

Colors
When it comes to plastics I'm generally using one of three colors....... A lighter color, usually Watermelon/Red Fleck 80% of the time A darker coler, usually A Black/blue 15% of the time A natural color, usually a Green Pumpkin 5% of the time The only other color I use is a Melon/Pearl laminate stick style bait,,,,,,,,,,,It is absolutely my go to confidence color for stick baits no matter what the water/wind/sun conditions.

Back facing rod holders for kayak?
I have 6 holders on my Blackpak, mounted on the sides. Do you cast straight over your shoulder? Or sidearm? I don't have that issue since I cast at about a 45 degree angle most of the time.

Leader for Froggin'?
I think it's going to be all straight braid. No reason for a leader.

Whopper Plopper, Used As Prop Lure?
I haven't had a ton of success with the WP but would guess that about 1/4 of my strikes have been on a pause or right at the start after a pause. I like to run it past ambush points like timber, rocks, blowdowns. After a few casts I do it again but pause right before it, then start up again.

Abu veritas vs st croix bass X
I just doesn't seem to have the same backbone to me. I have mostly Avid's and AvidX's after upgrading from the Mojo Bass. I still have a MH/Moderate BassX that would make a good rod for small poppers and small squarebills.

Abu veritas vs st croix bass X
I'm a huge St. Croix fanboy. I don't like the BassX either. I'd go with the Veritas, which I also own.

Dedicated Jig Rod
I wasn't aware of the other 10%. I was looking at rods a few months ago, before the sale at the Kistler site and TW was cheaper. I don't remember which rods I was looking at though.

Dedicated Jig Rod
FYI the 21% off just matches the price you can buy them from every day from pretty much any online retailer that carries them.

Crank bait
I write the depth range on the bill with a marker. I sort them in my 3700 box by depth, shallowest to deepest.
-
Chatterbait colors
I reel them past blowdowns, submerged wood, etc. My big bass win was caught in 3 feet of water that was about 45 degrees.
-
Chatterbait colors
I won the Big Bass pot at a tournament a few weeks ago on a white/chartreuse chatterbait with a white trailer in a lake with no shad.

Nothing Except Jerkbait Working (What can I do?)
Bigger jerkbait, shallow running or suspending swimbaits, hard and soft bodied.

Quick lure change
I just started using the Fastach, size 1. At first I hated them, seemed to take forever to get them on and off when fishing. So I took a bunch of different type lures and sat on my couch to actually look at what I was doing and figure out the common sense way to use them. After about 5 minutes of practice they are a breeze and by far the easiest to use as well as secure and strong.

Hey Strike King
I've bent several hooks on decent bass using Strike King square bills. I got a 6th Sense a while back, not much more expensive, way better quality hooks. I've since sold my SK's and replaced everyone of them with 6th Sense.

How To Fish This?
Well sometimes it storms, sometimes it's freezing, sometimes it's 40 mph winds. Oftentimes people like to come to these forums to share information and get other opinions.

Is kayak fishing frustrating?
Two summers ago I was out in low winds and they decided to pick up to 15-20. It was a pain so I went into a shallow, weed filled bay to drag Senko's over the weeds and drop it into holes in the weeds. I caught a 48 inch Musky so I like high winds! LOL

How To Fish This?
3/8 oz spinnerbait with a paddletail trailer...........double willow blades....... I'd go with a white blade or a gold/silver combo depending on sun.

Weather conditions
About a month ago I fished out of my kayak, 44 degree water, 32 degree air, middle of a snow storm that dumped 3 inches of snow. I caught 9 bass in less than 6 feet of water in 90 minutes. Once the snow stopped so did the bite. I go fishing when I have the free time.

Using heavy line on my rod?
I've never taken line rating into account when purchasing a rod. Lure weight yes, line rating no.

Is kayak fishing frustrating?
I thought it would be tough, I'm now on my third year in it. A fishing kayak vs a standard kayak is night and day. But also keep in mind you often get what you pay for. I can fish in mine for 8 hours without a problem. The seat is very comfortable. It tracks well too. I have a paddle only by choice but would imagine a peddle yak would be even easier. I would have to try pretty hard to flip it too. Once you get the hang of proper anchoring, especially with an anchor trolley , staying in place is not much of an issue. I also love that I can pull up to lake and be in the water in 10 minutes. About the only thing that is frustrating is those long paddles back into a strong wind.....lol

How much do you spend on your reel vs your rod
My reels are usually between $150-200, My rods are usually around $200-220.

How many rods is too many?
How many do you actually bring on any given trip?
