If you don't fish tournaments, why do you fish for bass?
Maturity in life, sort of changes your perspective as your age. I won a club tournament and a state tournament in my 30s. Today at 75 years of age it’s about enjoying what God made and doing battle only with the fish. Just my take presently.

Fishing and chemotherapy
Hello Rodney. I too have blood cancer myelofibrosis. I have battled six years to this point. I fish three days a week but my stamina is waning. I am probably starting a jack inhibitor in a couple months. I thank God for each sunrise and long term is tomorrow. Indeed, speak to your doctor and go for the gusto when you can if allowed. Wish you all the best, kick butt.

Mount Rushmore of Bass fishing.
Often overlooked, Goat of Past: Clunn has won the Bassmaster Classic tournament four times, in 1976, 1977, 1984, and 1990, tying him with Kevin Van Dam for the most Bassmaster Classic wins.[1] Clunn is considered one of the best anglers of all time, having placed in the top 10 in over 100 tournaments, and winning seventeen of those. In 1988, he was voted Angler of the Year by the B.A.S.S. organization. In 2001, he was inducted into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame.

Does a lake get muddy from the top down or the bottom up?
Where I fish top down from all the runoff from heavy rains. The sand and sediment usually sinks in about 72 hours.

Cormorant Predation - New Article!
Here in southern New Jersey the state stocks our local lake of 10 acres with rainbows. I fish trout from November 22 until April 15 until the bass bite turns on. In the spring, they will stock several hundred one year olds. 9-12 inch and close the lake for two weeks. By the time they reopen it to fishing, the Cormorants will have eaten 150 trout while we sit idly by. They ought to just let us start fishing instead of providing a Cormorants dining fest. Total ignorance and disregard for the condition. Tax dollars at work … NOT

The Learning Curve
Today’s technology certainly gives everyone an opportunity to see what’s happening relative to new baits and approaches across the country. It shortens the learning curve however, the great teacher will always be experience in any approach. Marrying them both together, gives us or vest opportunity to excel in a shorter period of time.

Pattern Fishing
I am with Rick Clunn on this one. I fish two lakes, primarily for the last 10 years and have come to approach it Exactly that way as the seasons change. They are completely different, but the patterns remain the same as the seasons change and the fish go through their yearly evolution. Rick Clunn was the goat of the 70s and I highly admire his accomplishments for those that are interested here are some: Clunn has won the Bassmaster Classic tournament four times, in 1976, 1977, 1984, and 1990, tying him with Kevin Van Dam for the most Bassmaster Classic wins.[1] Clunn is considered one of the best anglers of all time, having placed in the top 10 in over 100 tournaments, and winning seventeen of those. Try Mayo baits. Custom pour company. Select your base color and up to three fleck colors. Bryan is quite accommodating and tries to please. I have ordered a half dozen times.

3 inch Stiko
Have used successfully for several years. Texas rig weightless on a 2/0 hook work slowly. I have caught bass up to 3 -4 pounds. Every bit as good as senko and not as stiff as a dinger.

Better rod w/ similar action to Sierra line
I fish all spinning gear and as such noticed a vast difference in hook up once I started using a moderate or moderate fast rod. I use a Lews TP 1 X moderate fast and only dropped one fish on moving baits last year. For 100 bucks I couldn’t beat it. Good luck.

How many lipless cranks too many?
I have about 30. Quite proud of myself that I only bought two new ones for this year. Keep the bait monkey away. I’ve finally convinced myself it’s the Indian not the arrow. I’ll let you know how well I make out with that notion, he he he.

TW backordered wait?
I ordered three lion strippers for Christmas presents for my buds in November last year. There were six in stock when I ordered three. Got a back order notification, and settled for Christmas in July. What an embarrassment.

Reel for Dobyns Champ Extreme Spinning?
Thanks, both my schematics for respective models show the same # bearing on each side. So when they have the knob in stock, I should be good to order the knob and cap only. thanks for the help.

Reel for Dobyns Champ Extreme Spinning?
I want to make the same knob swap on a Vanford 3000. so do I only need to order the knob and cap from a 2500?

Electrical Tape For Backing?
I don’t personally care for the tape idea. overtime I feel that’s going to goo things up, so I use backing. I buy 300 yard spools of braid and top shot, get 2 to 3 Respools from that. As i fish 12 rods well you do the math, it saves me a lot of money. Just my way of doing things.
