Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Guys, it's gotten so out of control you have no idea. It's flat-out embarrassing at this point. The wall is full so now I have tubs/totes full of new tackle. I don't even know what I have anymore. It honestly causes me anxiety. 🤦♂️ I have been giving some stuff away to random kids I see fishing at the ramps or along the river in my town.

Got another Expride B. 7'2 MH/F. I had read that the B's are stiffer than the A', but comparing it to my A of the same model, it almost seems a tad softer. I absolutely love these rods. I'm glad they finally added a hook keeper, but I HATE where they put it. I also have the 6'10 M model that I'll use for jerkbaits. Reaching down to drab it off the deck and getting 110 hooks in your hand isn't much fun. Got a few of the Ark Cobb series rods. I really like the Ark Tharp series. Great rods at their price point. So when I saw Ark had a BOGO deal on the Cobb's, I figured what the heck. I didn't need them, but for $50 a pop, I decided to check them out. These are the cheapest rods I own (retail $100), so to be honest I wasn't expecting a whole lot. But I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised at how light they are and how well they fish. I decided on the 7'1 Buzz Burner and 7'4 Walking Stick. I thought they were black from looking at websites, but when the sun hits them just right, you can see they're actually green.

Great deal. This is the email I got today. So I assumed soft baits were included. But after browsing the site that doesn't seem to be the case.

Weedless jig head for 4" Zoom dead ringer??
Gosh, I need to start throwing this worm, again. I have lost count of all the SM and LM bass caught on these tings over the years. This is my favorite style jig head to use with them. Either dragging it or swimming it. So freaking deadly.

Possibly the cheapest thing ever posted in this thread. $1.94 at Wal-Mart. Just a plastic 8.5" pen case/storage box. I like pouring a little bit of Bait Fuel in it and then let plastics marinate in there throughout the day. I don't like pouring it into bags of plastics because it get get kind of gooey after sitting a long time if you don't use them all that day. Not to mention it seems to soften the plastics up if it's in with them for days/weeks. There's latches on the sides, but I don't know if it's leak-proof if tipped over or turned on it's side. I just keep it laying flat at all times. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwingorEpuCFAxVwNggFHbUoCIwYABALGgJtZA&ase=2&gclid=CjwKCAjwoa2xBhACEiwA1sb1BO3cDcfxTY7ctKndQUqMycVaJBXd2JTLPheau5LRSHMJG6DxXpN76BoCngsQAvD_BwE&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESVeD2vaalP0wwb4msRZUJiaJaY-kekc9z5hFu_538uuiBXIZgAD5vW-XkySgAA5mqDcgsBSBd7ueh-52KxyYNif1zTINzJWVcsBYIrkSwxaa7oxTZiYA&sig=AOD64_1cDRzIj5EWFz8jxraMOZ2kMeoa3w&ctype=46&q=&nis=4&ved=2ahUKEwjopIPEpuCFAxXMrokEHbmNC9MQ9aACKAB6BAgEECo&adurl=

Getting new tires for trailer- To balance or not to balance?
Pretty sure they don't make them in 13's.

Getting new tires for trailer- To balance or not to balance?
Thanks guys. Yeah, I figured it was a no-brainer. But after seeing so many people saying otherwise, it made me question it.

Getting new tires for trailer- To balance or not to balance?
Hey guys/gals. I'm ready to get new tires put on my boat trailer (single axle, 13" tires). I keep hearing/seeing conflicting reports on balancing trailer tires. Some recommend it, some say it's not needed. Just curious what you all do when you get new tires mounted. Have a great weekend!

For sure. I have this rod as well, and it is a little tip heavy, like @newapti5 said. I mostly fish spinnerbaits on it. For moving bait applications where the tip is usually down, I don't mind a tip-heavy rod as much as, say, when I'm fishing bottom contact baits.- Swim jig rod?
Open water/sparse cover- 7'2 M/F Megabass Orochi Diablo- Daiwa Tatula Elite 6.3 Close quarters/dock skipping- 6'10 MH/MF Legit Design Stand Out- Daiwa Tatula 80 7.1 Heavier cover/grass- 7'1 MH/XF Savage Gear Black Ops- Lew's Custom Speed Spool SLP 7.5 7'2 MH/F Shimano Expride B- Shimano Curado 70 MGL 7.4- Frog rod: DX 746C vs DC736c vs 7’3” XH expride vs ALX toadface.
I got the 7'3 XH Expride this winter that I plan on using for creatures baits/jigs in heavier cover. I know some people rave about it as a frog rod. I could definitely see that if you're fishing the thick stuff. But like you said, it might not be as good for walking a frog in open water. I like to have a little softer tip for that,- Tomato Tahmata
YouTuber #1- Use a black/dark bait, because it contrasts really well in the water, making it easier for fish to locate it. Also YouTuber #1- When your braid starts fading, take a black sharpie to the line to make it less visible to the fish.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)

You're out of control. Last year when you vowed to stop buying gear and said you were gonna start downsizing, you were the beacon of light that all of us other whacko's were to look to for guidance and hope. Instead, it seems like somebody got you wet or fed you after midnight (the younger peeps may not get this), and you've morphed into something that would even make the bait monkey cower in the corner of the room, knees shaking uncontrollably- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
It is the new version, but there are some upgrades. I didn't have the previous version, but there are a handful of upgrades/differences. This video can explain better than I can.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
New SLX 70A. The handle is shorter than the Curado 70's, which I wasn't expecting. Here's a side-by-side comparison in case anyone was wondering about it's size.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I hear ya. If you're gonna get fluoro I'd recommend getting some KVD line conditioner. It helps. Spray on night before or morning before you go out. Sniper is quite manageable for a fluoro line.- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
How do you like your Kistler reel? For line, I'd recommend 16# Sunline Sniper fluoro. - Fluoro leader questions
