  2. Seagar Carbon Pro (casting gear) Seagar Invizx (spinning gear) I use cheap Mr. Crappie high-viz for my backing and leave it about 100 yds. short so I can get 2 reels done with one 200 yd. spool.

  7. I throw suspending jerkbaits on 6' - 6'8" spinning rod. I use 8-10 pound Copoly or flourocarbon line. I cast the bait out and pull the bait down to its depth. Then jerk the bait straight down with the rod tip. Thats the jerk part of the retrieve. Change the retrieve (example: jerk, jerk, pause jerk, jerk, pause or jerk, jerk, jerk, pause, jerk, jerk, jerk, pause) Try differnt retrieves till the fish tell you what the want. The less aqqresive the fish the slower the retrieve and the longer the pause the more aggresive the fish the fast the retrieve and the shorter the pause. Colder the water the longer the pause is also a good rule of thumb. The fish may react to one retrieve and not another. Another key point to fishing a jerk bait is after the jerk part of the retrieve bring the rod tip back up pointing toward your bait. This keeps you bait from gliding forward. Keep your eye on your line so you can detect the lightest strike. It is also very important to have sharp hooks on your baits. Hope it helped!!!!
  8. I Agree!!!!!!!
  9. Great Find!!!! Look like some fish catching baits!!!!!
  10. pointer (LM) slender pointer (SM) Thats would be my chooses!!!!!
  11. I can say that I have not lost 1 lucky craft in the last two years. I throw them into some nasty places. All good things came to a end and I'll probley loss 10 or so this year. I hope not but I'm not afraid to loss one. I'm more afraid that one of my boxes of Lucky Crafts will get ripped off.
  12. rain gear!!!!!!!
  13. I have had good luck with a black and blue senko on a shaky head at night.
  14. St Croix Legend Tournament 7'0 M Mod Action with a Daiwa Sol spooled with 10lb P-line Fluorocarbon and a Lipless crankbait or a RC 1.5
  15. Ike's action was a direct reflection on ranger boats. He made it look a if the livewells were broken and didn't work which caused his fish to die. Then he attacted the boat in anger. What did G-man do show everyone that a triton boat will fly at about 60-70mph and handle like its on rails. Think of the advertizing: Trition Boats handle great and Ranger Boats livewells are undependable.
  16. c_diesel2 Would that shakin rod be good for jerkbaits? I throw jerkbaits on spinning gear and the 6'8 finesse rod is a little longer then I like. I also use a 6'0 premier rod but the casting distance isn't so good. I saw the shakin rod in there catalog and it might be the ticket for jerkbaits. The problem is that no stores around have this rod and if I order it I'm stuck with it. I have ordered the small cranker rod blind and I'm happy with it. Any INFO would be helpful thanks.
  17. The only advice I have is don't skimp on raingear. Buy the best you can the first time or you'll be buying it again before long. I use the BPS paclite goretex and the BPS 100mph. Cabelas guidewear goretex is also very nice aswell. Good rain and cold weather gear is a hard thing to break down and pay for but the first time you need it and don't have it you'll pay double for it.
  18. He probley wanted out of the boat after that ride!!!!!
  19. VERY POOR COVERAGE PERIOD!!!!!!!!! The same things were played over and over again. Last years coverage they showed what each angler was using and none of that this year. If ESPN whole goal was to save money and time then I give them an A for that but thats not what I want to see.
  20. Just wondering what lipless crankbaits everyone throws for smallies? What brand, color, and size?
  21. I'm getting to the point that Lucky Craft is about all I want to throw. It's just that I have so much confidence in them and it also helps that the fish like them!!! The nice thing also is that everyone isn't fishing them like other baits because they cost $15!!!!
  22. I was putting away some new LC jerkbaits I just picked up today and saw something interesting. In the past I have aways fished the pointer 100SP, slender pointers, and staysee's. I picked up some pointer 78SP and pointer 78DD (deep divers) to add to my arsenal. When I was putting them away I noticed that the rattles were different in the pointer 78SP and 78DD then all my other LC jerkbaits. In the pointer 100's, slender pointers, and staysee's they all have ball rattles in them. The new pointers 78's I got have small plate like rattles in them. I don't know if it is because of them being a smaller bait or not. I would believe that them having 2 different types of rattles they must make a different sound. Has anyone else noticed this difference or have any opinions?

It would of been great to so Martin win the race but what a finish!!!!!! RW I see your point but I hate when the races finish on yellow. If it wasn't the last 1/2 lap the yellow would have came out. ITS ALL ABOUT RATINGS IN ALOT OF SPORTS NOT JUST NASCAR!!!!!!!!!
  24. I'll second that pick!!! I'm not a big fan of the Yum Dingers haven't had much luck on them.
  25. I use KVD line cond. also and it works great!!!!!
