I have never had a problem with my hand going to sleep, but I had something wrong with my left hand caused from a lawnmower with a bad vibration that left me unable to make a first from around 2009-2011 or so. As a software engineer, I had to use a certain mouse that was long and flat and allowed me to palm grip it, and they cost $80 and never lasted that long. Fortunately, that has greatly improved and generally I haven't had any issues with any of my fishing rods.

Hello and welcome! We had a similar stretch of weather up here in the northeast after a fairly hot summer. But this past weekend, it was nice September weather again.

I think they are moving less by chasing fewer baitfish. I also believe their day to day migration is a little bit less but they can still turn on the jets.

I got the idea while fishing today and wanted to see if anybody else would be interested in this. I will set it up and run everything if there's enough interest. What I would like to do is put together a zoom call (or maybe google hangouts or whatever) one day a week where we discuss various fishing related topics. I would pick a topic of the week, for example one may be one lure that you're fond of that you'd like to share with the group, and then we go round robin and everyone presents theirs to the group and how they fish it on, or various lakes that you'd suggest to anyone looking for a vacation spot, and so forth. If you're interested, please check off which days would work for you and follow this post for future updates. EDIT: I should note that Wednesdays will not work for me unless it's past my usual bedtime and Thursdays will not work until after Thanksgiving.

So I got a pickerel and a bass at Lake St Catherine yesterday - and a beautiful sunset. Today I tried Onota lake and I missed what was definitely a large bass. But it was nice to get out in November.

So I am still deciding what what I am going to go with this, and not sure if it will happen at all (I'm going to be getting married soon). But I am actually learning more towards option B (an all around jig rod) the more and more I think about it, partially form necessity and also partially because I can throw 17lb fluorocarbon on whatever reel I go with and that'll work for the majority of my fishing. Then I can drop down to 12lb line on the medium heavy rod that I use for T-Rigs. I know I want it to be between 6'10" and 7'2", and for option B I might go for the longer end of the spectrum. The Megabass FMJ seems like it would be a solid option. The G Loomis NRX 873C seems like it would be very similar. The Daiwa Steez 7'1" H/F may also be a good option, and I had a 7'1" Tatula H/F that casted 3/8oz and especially 1/2oz jigs absolutely beautifully (better than either of my MH rods actually) that I actually plan to replace for next season. Then I may go with a custom ALX option as well. Life is full of important choices. And d**n, this one is kind of hard.

I purchased a couple of the Nichol Pulsator Hoosier which is the single colorado blade and available in the standard colors. The particular lure is a little bit unique as it's the same weight as a standard 3/8oz spinnerbait but in a smaller profile, which I believe was why I got the two fish and not my youngest son fishing an otherwise nearly identical spinnerbait just in the regular profile.

Since we got a hot stretch in November, I took a ride up to Lake St Catherine State Park and fished on the beach. I managed to get a chain pickerel and a bass on a spinnerbait. Yes, it's November in Vermont and I rolled up my pant legs and walked through the water to get to where I was fishing. Bonus pictures of the sunset.

Oh I meant that it was supposed to be 68 degrees outside (it was actually 73). I caught a pickerel and a small bass at least.

Tomorrow is going to be 68, so I'm gonna try to get one near the beach on Lake St Catherine. Should be a good time

I'm curious too. I found a great deal on a Garmin Striker 7sv on ebay and the price has dropped even more, it's around 23% off too so I'm not sure I'll beat that on Black Friday

I just got the jig box in today and loaded up a handful of jigs. I will probably fill it up more on Black Friday buy more jigs and just keep this one in the back of my kayak's BlackPak and keep my current 3700 in my tackle bag, loaded with a slimmed down (but functional) selection),since when I'm in the kayak, I fish jigs a lot more often. I appreciate the 3700 shaped design for this reason. I was able to fit 1/2oz project Z chatterbaits in no problem. I put them in the column 2nd to the right that had more space to the left so the blade didn't hit hooks on the left. The only downside if there is one, is wider jigs like football head jigs have to either skip a space or be added in reverse order but I still have great storage.

No worries, you should be pretty happy with that Zillion. I've been using the prior generation Tatula SVs for a while now and that would be my suggestion for lighter soft plastics. The Tatula Elite would be pretty good as well, but that's designed more for distance than control and often with lighter soft plastics, the control is worth it.

The 70 generally has a smaller spool and a more compact size than the 200k. If you are using 15lb and lighter line, the 70 is good and if you may run something heavier or periodically switch, the 200k is the way to go

Funny you mention this because this video review of their jig popped up in my Youtube feed, and I decided to pick one up for myself (should get it on Friday). I got in on Amazon for a little over $18 after taxes, which isn't bad if it's as nice as they said in that review. I generally run the indestructible Bass Mafia bait coffins (and I have some regular plano, a plano spinnerbait box and a plano deep diver box) but they don't have a 3700 sized jig box like this and this will hold far more jigs than the Bass Mafia 3700, and the one handed operation seems nice.

I think @Bluebasser86 hit the nail on the head. If you're lucky, maybe they'll sense a small warm front and bite a little more than usual, but I wouldn't expect anything too different.

Not true - we have largies too! As a notherner, I can't really think of any lures I might use that a southerner would not use, but we may fish them differently or different variants. For example, do southerners ever fish colorado bladed spinnerbaits in clear water? Tends to work great when the water is in the 40 degrees. And we may fish smaller jigs than you guys.

If they ever can make a driverless car that actually works, it would be cool. I can get up and sleep while on road to a lake.

Whoa, everything looks... newer. It's like dropping a few grand on your old home and getting it renovated... nice and new look and feel.

I figure once the lure hits the water, the noise of the braid going though the guides will quote down significantly so I wouldn't think they would hear it.

I got my girfriend a Ballistic and it's definitely a nice reel, smooth and light. But the reason I bought it over a Tatula was because I got it even cheaper, I think it was $135. I can't comment on the comparison.

My most productive jerkbaits have been the Berkley Cutters, followed by the Lucky Craft pointers

I'm not sure if I was misleading or you were responding to others, but I was in no way trying to say the 3/8oz jigs I would be looking to fish on this setup were finesse jigs. What I was trying to say is this would not be for flipping or pitching into heavy cover, but this would be a rod for all purpose jig and t-rig fishing. I would get a completely different setup for finesse jigs. I use my medium (rated for 8-14lb line) for light finesse jigs, and for a 3/8oz finesse jig I would use a medium or medium heavy rod that is on the lighter side just one step up, but if I'm fishing finesse jigs I keep it at 1/8oz or 3/16oz.
