Accessory Bar for Fish Finder/Best Setup for Fish Finder Transducer
That’s what I did with mine. You can stuff the excess cable in a dry bag under tour seat or in the hull

Blue Sky Boatwirks (Jackson) Angler 360
I don’t own one of these but given your condition I think that makes sense. I have friends who have a budget version of it basically and they love it

What Have You Learned ?
I learned a ton from you guys, from identifying quality cover and structure, bass patterns etc. I also learned what rods to use for what lures and how to fine tune it to my needs. Keep in mind I was a complete beginner when I joined but you guys helped me get up to speed and never let me astray. I’ve also learned there are some good people here and a good sense of community. I don’t even know what else, there’s too much to list.

Winter fishing zoom call series
Yeah, I'll get us up something soon. I have a lot of off hour deployments to work around but let me get over this cold and I'll see if I can find some time.

Road To The Superbowl 2024
They should at least hire a GM and remove Belichick from the drafting. He has had a few hits, but also many misses and trading first round picks for five 5th round picks hasn't worked out to well for the most part and a lot of that is why they are where they are today.

- Garmin Navionics download vs card?
You seem to have the right understanding. I would do the download and load it into your own card myself. Of course, I lost my USB card reader so I still need another one, but it's not too hard to load them onto a card.- Listen to this idea Daiwa
I have larger hands and don't really have an issue to be honest.- The latest sale thread
Apparently it’s even better than that. They gave me 25% off an already 20% off rod so I just got a Kaden for $108!- R.I.P. Ghoti
- Tatula Elite vs Tatula 100
This thing. It’s absolutely phenomenal for casting long distances even with light lures. The brakes are really dialed for long casts - I prefer the Daiwa brakes for pitching and skipping and short targeted casts though. The Curado MGL 70 behaves very similarly but runs maybe another $100 or close https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-SHIMNOREEL.html?from=basres- Fishmas 2023
I’m in!- Seaguar Abrazx
Abrazx is good line but I usually go for Invizx because it’s more manageable - unless it’s specifically for dragging over rocks. Invizx would be a better choice for spinning gear as well.- Garmin UHD vs UHD2?
If you want to spend the money, the Gpsmap or Echomap ultras (10 and 12”) models will get you more resolution, but at a cost. The Gpsmap also has a faster processor and the most refined interface on the market - if you change some settings on the fly say frequency it makes it real quick. The Echomap is still a solid unit as well and will largely do the job. My old 93sv was fine I am only upgrading it because I’ll likely get a fair return selling it with my kayak as the transducer is already mounted and can get the newer model in return and got a sweet deal on the Gpsmap 943xsv so I decided to go all out.- Tatula Elite vs Tatula 100
Both reels will work for you. The Elite has less braking overall but casts notably further than other Tatulas which is it’s primary advantage. I bought one for this purpose for crankbaits and it definitely does get me more distance. The SLX MGL 70 casts further than both and imo brakes a little better than the Elite too (for long casts) but not as good as the 100.- Garmin UHD vs UHD2?
The UHD2 9" increased the resolution to 1024x600 pixels over the UHD 9" which was 800x480 which will give a decent increase in sharpness. The 7" units overall should be fairly similar with an updated interface. The older models have all sorts of sales going right now. I decided to go for more pixels and got a deal on a GPSMap 943xsv that will barely run more than a UHD2 93sv would currently (WestMarine special plus $200 in store credits towards I can use towards the transducer).- The latest sale thread
For you kayakers out there, YakAttack posted their Black Friday sale - 15% off and some additional stuff too. https://www.yakattack.us/blog/14-years-of-yakattack-holiday-sale/- The latest sale thread
Daiwa has been part of the TW sales for years. They didn’t show the 20% off until after purchase in years past but the final invoice reflected it. I believe I got a Daiwa product every year since at least 2018 until this year - ALF had 25% off and I had some points to use but I am still waiting on some reels- The latest sale thread
TackleWarehouse.- Moving from Braid back toward Mono Baitcaster
I run braid for frogs and flipping and on spinning reels. For the former, I skip the leader and the latter I use a double uni and almost never broke off on the leader knot, and only when I snagged a rock shore fishing and was not going in for it and pull it out and even then usually it breaks off further down the leader.- 20lb for football jigs?
I would normally throw footballs on 15lb since generally you're dragging them along the bottom and not through cover but 20lb will be fine. Most football jigs have stout hooks and you're not going to bend them out. If not, you might want to invest in some better quality jigs.- The latest sale thread
I got my line for the season today. Sufix wasn't listed as having a special rate but I ended up getting something like 60% Sufix Siege plus a free crankbait with every spool! Not bad!- The latest sale thread
I bought two 73sv's a couple years back from Bass Pro online as well, right after they first started shipping with the GT54-UHD transducer. WestMarine's Black Friday sales will drop on Thursday, I can't recall if they had one on the Helix or not but they have some good ones for Garmin and Lowrance which I can confirm. Also keep an eye on Bass Pro Shops which have yet to drop - and if you trust it, ebay (I have a few sellers with a good track record at least)- Help me pick a new fish finder
Hummingbird has the best side imaging quality on the market bar none, and the sharpest down imaging although there are some things often missing from Hummingbird's down imaging (hence why a lot of the serious Hummingbird guys also double up with a Garmin). Garmin in my opinion has the second-best imaging, the best interface and probably the best maps and also you don't have to make a lot of adjustments when going from clear water to dirty water, which is nice. Garmin also seems to have the best live scope, if you plan on adding that. Garmin's screens are definitely sharper than the Lowrance without going to the HDS. I would keep an eye out for Black Friday deals. I am not sure if you have westmarine, but they tend to offer some good deals and go all in on Garmin every year. The GT54-UHD transducer is pretty solid, the GT-56UHD will offer maybe 66% more range in sidevu which is it's biggest advantage. You should definitely be able to find an older version of the EchoMap 73sv with the GT54 in your price range, and with any luck, you can get a 9". The newer 9" model offers more pixels, but the older one is nice when you run all three sonars together so you can really see each section much more clearly. The EchoMap 73sv or 93sv would ship with freshwater maps, the 74sv or 94sv would have offshore maps and the Striker doesn't include maps although you can make your own. I have ran a Garmin EchoMap 93sv the past few years with no complaints.- Spinnerbaits for Clear Water
I typically use dual silver willow blades in white, silver or a sexy shad color for clear water. The smaller size Nichols Mother Lode which is slightly smaller in size tends to produce really well but most models I've used matching the criteria should work with the exception of the River2Sea's - unless there's wood around in which case they eat them up but they tend to like stained water for some reason. - Garmin Navionics download vs card?
