I use a a Weber Premium kettle charcoal grill which I use for grilling and smoking. My prior propane grill rusted out and I didn't want to spend a lot on a grill so I went out and bought a charcoal grill and after learning what I'm doing, I'll never go back to propane. For camping and day trips I have a Weber Go Anywhere propane grill.

I have a Bonafide SS127 myself. Decent unit, but I'm not sure I would buy one again for several reasons. Mainly is the poor fix at fixing an issue where the seat wears through the hull. For existing units, they received a hard plastic piece that screwed on the kayak and that solves the problem. For newer units, they have glued pads there and they just do not stay more than a trip or two, so I have to constantly re-glue them with the strongest apoxy I can find just about every time I go out - and it's hard to find time, in short I don't think any glue is ever going to hold that. It seems to be a common problem for others too. I also never received the cable to assist in putting my seat into the lower seat position, and customer support is, well non-existent. My youngest son has an Old Town Topwater 120, which is a bit cheaper. The biggest disadvantage is that it does not have a dry pod which is a very convenient fish finder mounting solution and it doesn't come with a back rail. However it comes with three additional rod holders (two for permanent rod storage, one is designed to be able to rig up), and cup holders, so I probably wouldn't use the rear tracks - so we never had to add any. It does have some advantages though. First, it's significantly cheaper. It's also lighter, faster, tracks better (the rudder or at least flex wings on the Bonafide are 100% required for practical usage). And while it may be easier to flip, it rocks less on the water making it easier for me to stand and not fall out of the boat on choppy water.

I was boat shopping in 2017 and again in 2019 and had you asked me in 2019, I could have told you what was going to happen with boat prices in the upcoming few years. There are several factors at play, and honestly Covid is hardly one of the larger players. Had I financed a boat 100% in 2019 with a poor interest rate, it would have been cheaper than buying one in cash today and I knew that was going to be the case back then as well (it was no secret). I did not like the idea of having that much additional debt however.

Seeing that this happened in eastern Massachusetts somehow does not surprise me in the slightest. "If it moves, it can hit you" should be the state slogan.

The only one I have personal experience with that really fits the bill is the Oldtown Topwater 120 (currently sold as the Sportsman 120) and I have nothing bad to say about it. It's in the middle of the road in terms of speed and total weight, among the more stable kayaks out there, doesn't rock side to side much when it catches a boat wake and it's pretty well equipped.

Agree, but WD Greens are garbage I haven't ever got a year for one, for for a blue or black. Personally I buy the RE (server grade drives). They're expensive, but they're designed not to fail - and they don't.

First, get a SSD, large enough to install windows and games on and use that as your drive to install your OS and apps on. Then use a quality rotary drive to store your documents, music, install files, etc. The SSDs have a write limit so they are not the best to store data you care about on, but they are so much faster. I won't even use a computer that has a rotary drive anymore if I don't have to, I have better things to do be doing with my time. Second, look at one of those enclosed water cooling units for the CPU. They run much cooler and quieter than air cooling. Personally I would not use anything AMD if it was free. Their CPUs are finally catching up, but primarily by adding more cores that won't get utilized unless you're using professional video editing software. Their GPUs have came with inferior cooling and pushed the clock speed and power as far as they can go, so basically running a game from a few years ago on low settings with a frame limiter is enough to drive the temperature up to 80 Celsius in a few seconds, and something that's actually pushing it will overheat. Even the best available aftermarket cooling systems run very hot, and I've had several melted. Then add in all the known issues with their hardware that they go to market with anyway. You might be lucky and have minimal issues but remember this is a company that released a known issue where you had to disable multiple cores or eventually USB usage would cause a system crash, with no fix. You simply do not have problems like this with Intel. Now that said, the price of GPUs has gotten absolutely insane, so at the end of the day if you still go with an AMD video card I get it. I dropped $700 on my 980gtx in order to play The Witcher 3 when it launched which is the only game I've really cared to play in the past few years since The Witcher 2 and even then I opted to wait a few years before rebuilding my computer to play it so I didn't have to drop money on cutting edge hardware. That case doesn't look bad but I would personally like one giant fan on the side. They move a good amount of air, from all areas of the motherboard and are quiet. CPUs have largely came to a point where the next generation will usually offer more power savings than performance gains. A similar chip in a prior generation is usually fairly close in performance to the next generation. I'm still running my 4th gen i7-4790k with no plans to upgrade soon.

Last week I was camping in Vermont. We had a tropical storm pass through. Then we got the very outskirts of what was a hurricane. Got some decent rain Monday night, but mostly a drizzle. We pretty much get a thunderstorm a day, but it doesn't last long. Our lakes are still very low.

No harm in that. My oldest son has been using Shimano reels for a while, they're decent. We also have a couple of Pfluegers with centrifugal brakes between myself and the kids (I have a dual braked Patriarch). I got my oldest son a SLX MGL 70 for his birthday for use with unweighted soft plastics and I really like that reel for light baits. So centrifugal brakes work too. I do absolutely love the Daiwa SVs for pitching, skipping and target casting though. I have a Steez SV reel and that thing is absolutely amazing, but the new Tatula SV is pretty light and compact and still a great reel too.

I have 4 packs of the X-Zone lures that have lasted me all year. Granted, I've been throwing more tubes lately.

I have left mine in the back of my truck most the summer and they haven't melted. I have melted some in the past, in 80 degree weather with the occasional 91-94 day here and there, they typically don't melt.

If you get the chance to try one, it's worth it. They're quite effective.

Yeah, for the most part it was a drizzle by the time it made it out my way. I hear Rhode Island got hammered pretty good one it first hit the coast line, but it died down quick.

Funny, when I quit I locked myself in a room. The first day I was in a horrible mood, the next day was a little better. The day after I worked, went and bought my weekly supply of 4 packs, smoked half of them between that Monday and Tuesday morning, didn't smoke another on Tuesday, came home, broke up the remaining cigarettes I had and threw them in the dumpster. Quit coffee for a couple of weeks and after that it was quite easy. I did notice that I would feel jittery after just a little coffee and drink about half the caffeine I used to ever since I quit.

I smoked from the point I was a teenager and I believe I was 29 when I quit if memory serves me right. My girlfriend needed a car and at the time we didn't have much extra income at all, so after years of trying to quit and failing I quit cold turkey then and there. After going a few years, I have smoked a few quality cigars here and there since, but that's it.

Ever tried a Daiwa with the Magforce Z? Sometimes I agree with you, but the Magforce Z is quite effective. Pretty much exactly what I do. I usually use 4 pins in on any centrifugal braking system whether it has 4 or 6, and then if it's a dual brake I leave that at or near zero and turn it up to compensate for wind conditions.

Yeah, that's what I've been scheduling them for lately. I don't think there is a hard cutoff if people want to hang out later.

1/2 and 3/4oz jigs, C-Rigs with at least ideally a 3/4oz weight or a moderate punching setup with a similar weight.

I believe the real question here is which type of brake, centrifugal or magnetic, and there is no right or wrong answer. Most of my reels are magnetic, they work well and I like them better for skipping and pitching and target casting. Centrifugal brakes are better for casting distance because they work by serving as a maximum speed limiter. My only reel with centifugal brakes is a dual braked Pflueger Patriarch which I use for poppers and jerkbaits and it does well casting lighter poppers.
