Both are good ideas. The other thing that is missing is a true heavy rod. The Dobyns 705C or 735C (Mag Heavy) rods across most of their lines are pretty solid multi-purpose heavy rods. That said, from the shore it's not as common that I need heavy rods as well at last in lakes I fish.

It looks good to me. It looks to me like the top has some extra wraps, but the bottom doesn't, which means the reel spools a little high if I'm seeing this right.

This is great, until you use a reel with a different rod.

It can always be tough gauging what the used market will do, but it's been expected for years that the price of new boats will just continue to rise due to many factors, both in the cost of parts and manufacturing to economic ones. So if that holds true, a used boat in a couple years could be more than a new boat today and that's time lost on the water in it.

I did manage to melt a couple half empty bags before (all I had left at the time) but I've kept them in the back of my truck during a week long heatwave where every day was in the mid or upper 90s and they survived.

Next time you get kicked off, try resetting only the router and see if that fixes it. If you then have to unplug the modem, then you ruled out the router as the problem. You can also try connecting the modem directly to the computer. My old router was a pretty decent one, but it was older and less powerful, showing its age. I would get kicked off a few times a day, but it wasn't bad enough to justify spending another $150 on a decent router. One day, it got to the point it barely worked at all.

I can get to about 30 yards on a pitch, but that's doing a long, less accurate cast like pitch and usually with a longer rod as well. For a regular pitch (even on a longer rod), 20 is probably on the higher end of what I can hit with any level of accuracy. For shorter distances, I can usually place my bait no more than 2 feet from my target or better reliably but when I try to go past a certain point, my accuracy will drop off signifantly.

It could be worse. They could have turned their head on known problems like many car manufacturers do and left you with a boat that takes on water with a motor that fails randomly etc.

I arrange them by weight and then color and do my best to remember what's what and put them back where I got them from. When in doubt, I know I have 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 so I can compare sizes and see the difference.

Spinning will be easier to start, however you will probably want to learn the baitcaster and you gotta start somewhere. So if you are feeling bold and don't mind fighting through some birds nests while you learn, go with the baitcaster. Start with 15lb Big Game, it's fat so it's easier to pick out birds nests and cheap if you have to replace it.

Try them on a dropshot.

To my understanding the Elite is a faster tip than the moderate GX2s so you could maybe throw things like T-Rigs, jigs, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits, paddle tail swimbaits, and if not well throw some crankbaits. What do you do? Get a reel and go fishing.

These skip very well. They also work as an all around jig, but they skip well because they have a big flat head to catch the water.

I had plans to go out this weekend, but it was 44 degrees and rainy all weekend. Had it been nice out, I would have gone to some small motorless lake in the middle of nowhere that is not a destination for the recreational crowd

I do carry a 3/4oz and 1oz spinnerbait, but I rarely use anything over 1/2oz. They are good for getting your bait down into deeper areas.

I talked to @Bluebasser86 who has thise H/XF, he said it is actually pretty stout and should work with a frog and he's flipped some heavy cover, but it also makes a pretty solid jig rod so I ordered one. He's gonna love this rod, jigs are one of his goto lures

@Tail Slap I have bought the exact same line before and it's legit. However the items that ended up coming from China had all the same indicators. It seems that they were out and they had someone from China ship it on their behalf instead. I got a notice that it was shipped but never got a tracking number or received the item, and the estimated delivery date kept moving forward so it took me 2-3 months before I could get my money back. I haven't got a lot of fake fishing related items, but I'm very wary of buying on Amazon ever since

I have another thread going, but I figured I would be more specific. So I'm looking to get my youngest son a heavy rod for his birthday, and there is a 15% off memorial day sale ending in two days. They are out of the rods I was looking at (St Croix Mojo Bass Dock Sniper or Slop 'n Frog / Swim Jig or the Falcon Lowrider Lizard Dragger, but they have St Croix Victory rods in stock, so 15% off a Tatula SV plus a St Croix Victory is about as much as a full price Tatula SV plus a Mojo Bass, and I hear the Victory rods are pretty nice! What I am curious about is the action of both of the heavy rods. They have the Full Contact rod, which I know would be good for throwing a frog in the thick stuff, but then they have the Full Contact Finesse which from my understanding is designed to be more of an all purpose jig rod, which honestly he'd get a lot more use out of (mainly at lakes where a heavy is a bit overkill). My one question is what can this handle for cover? We don't have the thickest cover out there, but we do have some spots with some pretty solid cover and it'd be nice if he could throw in the same stuff I am. 2:50 into the video below is one of the spots for reference.

I have ordered things that were supposedly sold by Amazon only to find I bought something from China before, and never received anything. There was literally no way to know it was from China when I ordered it, it looked like it was from Amazon.

On a heavy rod, I would probably go with 50# braid. If you're only throwing it in the thickest cover, or pairing it with a reel with fluorocarbon when not in heavy cover, then I'd go with 65# braid but 50# is the best all purpose
