Kistler Rod Pricing?
They have done that for years, I purchased a couple of their KLX rods about 5 years ago. I've been happy with the 2 KLX models that I own. The rods aren't as balanced as some other brands, but I've fished them hard and have held up well.

Falcon rods?
Mine was the Expert model, it was several years ago.

Falcon rods?
I use to have a couple Falcon rods and they are nice rods. I found that Falcon has excellent rod warranty for $25.00, just throwing that out there.

Do you seal the cork on your rods with a cork sealer?
I do wipe new rod cork with a damp cloth, sometimes there is cork/dust residue on new rods. I let the cork dry and apply U-40. Normally I re-seal my rods every other season.

Show off your Stuff
Sold 2 older 2017 Tatula SV reels and added 2 of the new 2024 Daiwa Tatula 100. Also 6 new Powell Rods, 2 of the Max series & 4 of the Naked series when they had the BOGO(the 4th rod is in the closet with no reel 😏)

crankbait pricing observations
I got a couple of the Bomber Gen 2 Square 5A Squarebill and I was surprised with the new hooks on them. Definitely sharper hooks with black finish compared to the bronze colored hooks they use to have if I remember correctly.

crankbait pricing observations
I only buy fishing tackle when it is on sale, so I save usually 15-30% off everything. My crankbait prices are usually $3-$8. I use 3 or 4 brands that I like and have used them with success along with better components.

Edge rods by Gary Loomis - thoughts?
I myself didn't have a good experience with Edge Rods last fall. I ordered a EFX Pro rod from them, 3 of the guides were out of alignment and the epoxy on the rod butt wasn't finished well so the carbon fiber really dug into my arm. Their rod was really tip heavy to add along with it. I wasn't happy with the quality of the rod overall, the only good part of the experience was the free return shipping. I waited 2 weeks for a refund/credit which never happened from them. I ended up having to contact my credit card company involved to get my money back from Edge Rods, so if you ever return anything back to them it will probably take a minimum of 2-3 months. Just my personal experience I'll give them one of these. 👎

Guide replacement
@TcRocAs long as your repair holds up that is all that matters! I had to do a couple repairs on one of my rods this winter also. The epoxy was cracked/chipped on the logo, so I didn't want to damage the label. Also had to repair the hook keeper, I was pretty happy how it came out.

Reel tool storage
I just have a plain cardboard box with my reel supplies in my closet. I have a glass container for cleaning bearings/gears, toothbrushes, oil/grease, more brushes, white towels to lay on my work bench. Otherwise if I need anything else I have a large tool box in my garage & air compressor.

- Life Jackets
I would go with a regular life jacket and not a auto inflation type. You have the cost of replacing the cylinder/bobbin servicing your auto inflation type and there is always a possibility it might not work. I would trust a regular life jacket and there are many choices of life jackets now that are more comfortable.- Short-maintenance cycle year
I feel that I'm really good at servicing my bait casting reels, the main reason is that I only have one spinning reel. 😄- Copolymer Line Suggestions Similar to Yozuri Hybrid
I've been using the Izorline XXX Super Co-Polymer for a few seasons and have been happy with it.- Daiwa Tatula 100 with 'hyper drive digigear'
I compared my SV 103 weight was 7.4 oz to the 24 Tatula 100 was 6.8 oz (with no line on the reels) It looks like the width of the frame are near identical but the length/height of the new Tatula 100 is smaller & more compact.- Daiwa Tatula 100 with 'hyper drive digigear'
I don't know yet myself, I wanted to try this reel since I have numerous of the 2017 Tatula SV models. I always like to put a good season worth of use on a new reel to give a honest review. I have tried the Tatula 80 but for some reason I didn't love it, maybe it was the reel size itself. I think I'll like the new Tatula 100 it feels really nice, I like the frame size and I also like the finish on the reel. I think the finish might be more durable than the older Tatula models.- Daiwa Tatula 100 with 'hyper drive digigear'
Received my new Tatula 100 a couple days ago, we'll see how I like it after the end of the season...- Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
