  1. Accidental? More like Freudian. Tell me...when you look at a Poison Adrena do you think of your mother?
  2. A key element in a combat situation is overwhelming aggression. I'm pretty sure that shark has been to some of the training we put on at our shooting ranges.

It's illegal in most states. Here's Illinois: "The driver of a motor vehicle shall when reasonably necessary to insure safe operation give audible warning with his horn but shall not otherwise use such horn when upon a highway." Warning them that you desire to control other people's actions and have an unregulated temper does not count as a "reasonably necessary" warning. Honking because someone is obstructing the flow of traffic (green light and they are on their phone) or because they are dangerously violating lane restrictions (cut you off) is reasonable. "Letting them know they are wrong" is a moving violation on your part.
  5. That's hilarious. Especially since I'm certain you mean everyone except me.
  6. Lately the fishing has been S.L.O.W. I was talking with a ranger while fishing this forest preserve and he said the animals are totally messed up due to the insane weather we've had all season. He pointed out that half of the deer were a couple months late having fawns and he personally saw a fisherman pull a bass guarding fry at the very end of July! That's way out of bounds here. I was glad to get this 3-2 off of a rocky point. Mostly I'm just digging 1 and 2lb-ers out of the brush and very few in a day.
  7. Fishing line is a highly personal preference kind-of-thing. You don't mention what you techniques you will be using each rod for, but I can tell you what I would use on the two bass rods. You'll have to try various things out to find what you prefer. M/F spinning rod - 6lb to 10lb Trilene OR 6lb-8lb Sufix 832 braid MH/F baitcasting - 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid OR 50-65lb Sufix 832 (or if you want the cheapest possible workhorse go with 10-12lb Trilene) Much of it depends on what lures you will be throwing. You'll get more targeted responses if you can give us an idea of what techniques you'll use the most.
  8. You can get what you want if you just pare down your expectations a bit. Pick one of these two rods based on your preferred length: Okuma TCS-C-691MHa or TCS-C-701MHa I own both (and a heavy model) and I was turned on to these rods by one of the moderators of this forum. The two M/H I listed are the most true-to-form "all purpose" rods I have ever used, BUT every rod has it's limitations. These rods are absolutely perfect for 3/8, 1/2 and 3/4 (upper end) lipless cranks, 1/2oz squarebills, diving cranks to about 10-12ft, Zara Spooks and other walking baits, poppers, small/medium wakebaits, 3/8 spinnerbaits, etc. No rod can do everything you ask, however. No way you are throwing a frog, huge squarebill, deep crank, or whopper plopper with these. I applaud you wanting/needing to be frugal, but you also must be reasonable or you will be sorely disappointed with what you spend you money on. I would suggest getting an Okuma TCS "all purpose" to cover the techniques I listed and also get a Daiwa AirdX H/F for $55 (or less on sale) to take care of your frog/whopper plopper, etc. If you buy both right now at Tackle Warehouse on sale you will spend only $169.98 with free shipping. That is an amazing deal for two rods that will serve you very well.
  9. ^^^this^^^ They don't know more than us to start. They eventually learn more than us...but any of us could with that amount of time on the water.
  10. Here's the first one I've seen so far: https://discounttackle.com/collections/2022-labor-day-sale Not too exciting.
  11. Looks like it's rated 1/4 to 3/4oz. That sounds like my kind of heaven for jigs from a Bitsy Bug to 1/2oz.
  12. I kid you not...two weeks ago I had pulled my trailer out after launching and when I parked I was inspecting my empty trailer like I do every so often. I found myself quietly cursing my bunks for being in such good shape! LOL!
  13. @Deephaven I suspect you are comparing these to roller trailers? Us aluminum guys avoid rollers like the plague, but SOME of us want bunks that are slippery. When the day comes, I will definitely be going with this brand thanks to @A-Jay 's write up. Exactly what I'm looking for but can't mentally justify the cost with my current bunks in excellent shape.
  14. ^^^this^^^ Tom's got the best solution for you even if it's not something you want to do. You may get away with dropping a wheel off the ramp once, you may get away with it 20 times, but eventually you are going to have a really, really bad day.
  15. Sorry my friend, my wife opens the jars.
  16. I'm posting a pic only so you'll know that I have some knowledge in this area. You didn't like keto? Most people don't. Don't worry about it and don't work so darn hard at this. It's NOT that hard. I'm 53 years old and I'm currently at 8% bodyfat via the 3 site caliper test. IGNORE THE BODY MASS INDEX (BMI), according to that I am obese. I'm not joking. 1. Stop with the macros. Get your calories right. There are many reliable calorie calculators on the internet. You have to be honest with the questions they ask. 2. Keep track of your calories. You do not know how much you are eating and you cannot judge a portion size without years and years of measuring, weighing, etc. No, you can't, you're wrong. Get the free version of My Fitness Pal and use it for every single thing you eat. Before you know it, you won't need it anymore. That's it. No other advice needed. Figure out the right amount of calories. Learn to keep track of your calories. Done. Don't workout if you don't want to. You won't look exactly like I do but you will certainly have a healthy body weight. Don't count your macros if you don't want to. It would speed things up to get .7 to 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight and cut down on refined sugar, but you don't have to. Get your calories right and keep strict track of what you take in and your life will change. Adding one more thing: Don't worry about "crappy food". You can choose to eat what you want and still lose weight/maintain healthy weight. Specific foods are bad for you only if you have a medical condition or a genetic predisposition to some bad things. Do a Google search of The Twinkie Diet.
  17. What some of these guys are trying to relay to you is that you are over-generalizing a bit. "Do bass hold tight to a gradual slope like that?" can be a yes or a no because, depending upon season, recent weather, wind, cloud cover/sun, and other potential structure in the area there may be a single rock or stump somewhere on that slope that will ALWAYS or SOMETIMES have a fish or multiple fish on it. You are focusing on specific pieces of cover and looking for a yes or no answer from experienced fishermen, but the answer is "maybe". Throw at the cover. If you don't get a bite you have two choices; 1. Be confident in your theory based on all available data (everything I listed about starting with the word 'season') and you feel strongly that there should be fish there so you keep changing your presentation and throw until you can't throw anymore or, 2. Move on. You are doing a good job of researching and learning, but remember that when you learn something specific about bass behavior that is specific only to the fine details of that statement. A small change can be an enormous change. This is why the pros have days when they get skunked. It's one of the hardest and most rewarding hobbies, IMO.
  18. ^^^this^^^ and/or the AirdX. Look no further.
  19. You called him ignorant and an addict and now you're suggesting that anything positive about him should be ignored because he has problems. You have what's called "glass house syndrome". We all have issues. We are all sinners. I can appreciate him because, while he has many problems, he walks his own way without giving in to societal pressure to conform. You're right, he shouldn't gamble away all of his money, but he has plenty of positive attributes. How about you just let us celebrate some of them? If you really want to have a discussion about this topic then lets talk about Bill Cosby or Michael Jackson. Cosby is a serial rapist that brought joy to millions. Jackson was a pedophile that was created by a tyrannical father that stunted his emotional growth. There's no way he COULDN'T have become a sexual offender, yet he was an incredibly gifted artist that also brought joy and pleasure to millions across the globe. Do we forget their contributions? Do we forgive their sins? We all know what God expects us to do, but we all suffer from arrogance and self-rightousness. Anyway, how's the fishing lately?
  20. This thread could go on for eternity. I have no other vibrating jigs nor any tungsten weights in my boat or garage that are not from @Siebert Outdoors. I'll admit I do have some of the cheap Strike King football jig packs w/trailers from Walmart because I won't throw my Siebert G2s from the bank into riprap. I can free a snag from the boat but not from the bank.
  21. When the lake is frozen. Unless you cut a hole it in.
  22. I understand exactly what you are saying.
  23. It doesn't matter what you like. You need to throw both and let the fish tell you what they like.
  24. -Keep an open mind. -Fish the season, water temps, and weather (recent past weather + current weather), NOT lures. -Respect the fish, the water, and your fellow sportsmen. -Pick up after yourself (and others if need be). -It should mean a lot more to you than catching fish. Find your reason. (I find peace in it)
  25. Fortunately she's got that PFD to keep her seat from drowning.
