  1. Hand crank generator would be a good workout... Just sayin if the power is out
  2. I have had 2 of them for two years. Great reels. Bought two more as backups during the sale.
  3. I can fit a 7’4” rod in the locker of my R70.
  4. Yep. I use cheap mono backing for most of my reels and then put 75 yards of the good stuff on top. I join them with a double uni knot only doing 3 turns per knot.
  5. It’s a GREAT sale for electronics. If you have a Black level Bass Pro/Cabelas credit card you get 20% of the purchase price in Club points which equates to dollars you can use at Bass Pro or Cabela’s. Additionally, they give you a $100 gift card for electronics purchases over $1,000. I got a new Humminbird Helix 12 SI G3N and ended up with $620 to use at Bass Pro/Cabelas. BPS/Cabelas are not the cheapest by any means, BUT I will still end up well ahead of the game using this deal.
  6. Well I got tired of trying to decide so I did something stupid and spent the extra money got the Helix 12 G3N.
  7. I can get either a Helix 12 SI Mega G2N or Helix 10 SI Mega+ G3N for the console of my boat for the same price. Is the Mega+ that much better than Mega? Is 10” enough at the console, Or should I stick with the bigger display?
  8. Bought a Humminbird Helix 12 SI GPS G2N and earned $500 in bonus bucks with the Triple Crown promotion... was needing a new unit so it was worth it
  9. I made a small edit for you since the rest the paragraph contradicted the original statement Motions if pushing your arms in front of your body or “punching” actions activate the serratus. Heavy (punching) bag work will have your serratus good and sore in no time.
  10. Just curious if there are any updates. Spring is right around the corner and some places need 4-6 week’s lead time on cleaning and supertuning depending on how many reels.
  11. This is a great idea for a thread. At $25-$45 a pop for reel cleaning services it can get expensive sending reels off for quality cleaning and supertuning. can you add the cost of all of those items you listed above?
  12. This is it! I was trying to come up with my own description for what I feel makes a rod sensitive and this description nails it. Its about DIFFERENTATING bites from bottom and bottom from bites.
  13. Hopefully this thread will disappear...
  14. What did it cost you to do it last time? When you “didn’t do it right.”
  15. if I would have seen that boat when I was looking I definitely would have seriously considered it. Hope it checks out in good condition for you. If it doesn’t though, don’t be afraid to walk away. Deals that seem too good to be true often are. Keep us updated. What state is that boat located?
  16. Might be able to sell your MK330D and upgrade to an MK Precision Charger. The Precision chargers are capable and frequently used to charge lithium batteries when on the ‘AGM’ setting.
  17. Nope. Dobyns rods run on the lighter side and tend to feel more "whippy" than other similarly rated rods. If anything that Dobyns may be a bit underpowered the medium cranks.
  18. Do fish a lot of water greater than 15ft deep? If not a lure retriever pole is in my opinion the best option.
  19. Do you use the feel of the pedal to drive the boat/trolling motor? The Ultrex is currently the only unit that gives any feedback in the pedal for turning. The others are essentially buttons that turn based on time held vs. pressure.
  20. I like to use a flat sided crankbait on rip-rap and brush when the water is between 40-50 degrees. I don't have as much luck trying to get a lipless to bounce off of rocks and come through brush as well as a flat side with a bill.
  21. They have changed the black magic color. The originals had green on the bottom and were amazing for dirty/stained water. Personally, I was disappointed in the new color being solid black... The fish probably won't care.
