Who uses Junebug worms
All of our lakes are stained or tannic in Kansas. Junebug is one of my most productive summer colors. I have no Idea what it looks like under water. The Bass seem to like it.

Looking for Kayak Advice
I own a Bass Pro Shops Ascend FS 128T it is a bigger Kayak. It is 12ft. 8in. long. It is a little heavy at 96 lbs, but super stable. I am 6ft. 2in. and 230lbs. I can easily stand up in it. it is still very maneuverable for a bigger Kayak. I can easily load it in the back of my truck alone. It may be a little harder to get on top of an suv. I got it on sale for $600.00. I think the regular price is around $850.00 Before that i had a 10ft. Ascend. it was nice but not near as stable as the Fs 128. it also weighed a lot less.

How do boat fishermen really feel about kayak anglers?
i own a fishing Kayak and a Bass Boat. I have no issues with Kayak fishermen. I do have a problem with some pleasure Kayakers. A couple of the local lakes are very popular with the kayak crowd. They tend to cruise around the lakes close to shore. I have had multiple times, that i would be fishing a shoreline and a couple of them would cut between me and the shore. I usually just let them go by, but some of them are rude. Those individuals have had baits land close to their boat.

Who uses Junebug worms
I fish an Ol monster in Junebug color during the summer. it is one of my favorite summer colors.

Lipless Cranks
Strike king red eye shad does it. Rat l trap and cotton cordell super spot are good for constant retrieve. Reed eye shad is my favorite for hopping and jigging. It is about the same Price as a Rat l trap here is a demonstration from hook and look.

Sharpening hooks
I am in the always camp. whenever I tie on a bait I check the hooks and touch them up as needed.

Auto Inflatable Life Jackets
If you are in a motor powered boat go with the type II if you are kayaking Type III will work. like mentioned earlier it has to be comfortable enough to wear.

Technique Specific Gear Ratio Question
I personally only use 7.3 or higher ,for baits I move with the rod. Texas rig, jig, etc. People often have a tendency to fish spinnerbaits or chatterbaits too fast. I stick to 6.3 or lower on most horizontal baits to help keep myself from unconsciously burning the bait. It still has plenty of speed to keep a buzzbait on top.

How far have you gone to retrieve a lure?
It depends on where it is and the value of the bait. I fish out a fiberglass boat. if a bait is stuck in the rocks and I can't get it with a lure retreiver, it will probably get sacrificed.

Dobyns Rods
I agree. I wish the companies would throw a way the technique specific rod ratings and all go to one rating standard. It's funny while one company will have a jig/worm rod they rate as medium/fast, another will rate the same worm rod medium-heavy/fast. while both are essentially the same rod.

Dobyns Rods
I own 3 fury rods. They are nice for the price range. In regards to the power ratings, every rod manufacturer has their own rules. From my own experience a fury`s power runs a little lighter than some manufacturers. I would not call them laughably overstated.

Auto Inflatable Life Jackets
I have a Cabelas and a Bass pro auto inflate PFD. they are both type II. they both came with the arming kit. the main difference is a Type II will usually hold you face up out of the water if you are unconscious. Type III might not. Type III are usually more compact. Type III are generally for manual powered craft like a canoe or Kayak.

The latest sale thread
They were identical. I just got $18.50 worth of crankbaits for $4.50. I didn't want to push my luck.

Jig
If the water is 10 foot or less I use 3/8 ounce, most of the time. If it is much deeper I will go up to 1/2 oz. If I am dragging football jigs across deeper structure, I will bump up to 3/4 to 1 ounce. If I am skipping under docks or overhanging trees I will drop down to 1/4 ounce. I can skip the lighter baits easier.

The latest sale thread
Stopped at a local Walmart to check for tackle clearances. There were several Strike King 5XD crankbaits for $6.22. among them were these 3 for $1.50. I asked the man stocking the shelves, if it was the correct price. He said yes there was a clearance on last years baits, to make room for the new ones. There were 3 more identical to the ones I bought, labeled at full price. I asked if they were also on sale. he said no they were new. I just grabbed my 3 crankbaits, said thanks, and walked a away.

Where to find largemouth after Ice out
Early spring I look for rock banks that have sun shining on them. That is usually the warmest area and bass will congregate there. Rip rap around bridges and Marinas always get my attention.

Looking for a hook company name
pretty vague question. not sure if you are looking for a sponsor or just good quality hooks. nearly all name brands make good hooks anymore .Mustad, Gamakatsu Eagle Claw, and Vmc are just a few.

Getting my motor service....
if it will not run it is hard to tell. I have a 2016 115 4 stroke mercury. I take it to Cabelas once a year for fluid change and a checkup on their computer. it costs around $250.00. I also am on the water 20 hours a week 10 to 11 months out of the year.

Kansas winter bass fishing
I honestly don't catch many winter bass on a jig around here. For me it does better in spring and summer. most of the fish I catch in cold water come on the following. slow rolling a a single blade spinnerbait. a suspending jerkbait. jigging a lipless crankbait. ned rig worked slow. dragging a trick worm with a shakyhead.

Post a photo a day!

usually anywhere from 3 to 8 dollars. Depends on the brand and which pro is endorsing them.
