  1. Around kc I rarely catch bass deeper than 15 feet. On Smithville and most Eastern kansas reservoirs, bass don't go much deeper than that. I use a 6XD occasionally, but don't go much deeper than that. If you fish lakes like table rock the bass hang out a lot deeper.
  2. You don't see many Lunds around here. most aluminum boats around here are Tracker, Lowe or Alumacraft. I did see a Lund 2075 on one of the power plant lakes this winter. it was a pretty sweet looking boat.
  3. To me the most important part of a bass boat is an elevated deck. without it pitching, flipping, and skipping are more difficult. if your multi species boat has that you should be set. like @A-Jay mentioned,a multi species boat is a little drier in rough water. I have a fiberglass bass boat that sits relatively low in the water. the advantage of that configuration is the boat does not get blown around as much as a high free board boat. most multi species boats sit higher in the water and are a little harder to control in the wind. the disadvantage of a low free board boat is if you are in big waves, once in a while water will splash over the deck, while fishing. My boat has a very dry ride when you are up on plane, but sitting still in 3 foot plus waves, you get sprayed occasionally.
  4. welcome from another Kansas member. January and February can be a trying time for a Kansas angler. you either have to wait it out or hit a power plant lake.
  5. I agree. In my opinion the Chiefs/Patriots game will be determined by the Chiefs defense. Chiefs offense usually has no problem scoring, but the defense has had some issues this year.
  6. It does work on flourocarbon and copoly line. one of the huge advantages I see is it reduces line memory. I use it often for both. not sure what benefits it would give braid. KVD is the only conditioner I use. have not seen many benefits from other brands. all flourocarbon has some memory. I use it on Tatsu and sunline sniper. it does make a difference.
  7. Luckily, for the most part, Kansas city was spared. a little snow and ice is all. most of it went north of us. Should be a good AFC championship game today
  8. You honestly don't care if you are buying stolen goods? Wow!
  9. I am a Kansas City area transplant. Been here 6 years. I have adopted the Chiefs as my hometown team. I follow them if they are winning or losing.
  10. Let's hope the same defense that played last week, comes tomorrow. I am not that fond of Buffalo, but we will not hold that against you. Maybe next year the Bills will do better?. I actually have nothing against the Buffalo area.Common sense said to let this comment go. Unfortunately my ego overrode common sense.

the only way i know around it where I live, is to use a paypal debit card. That defeats the purpose of using paypal and I don't need another card. I am a prime member. not just for purchasing, My wife likes prime movies and tv series. you have to watch what you buy on amazon. Someone stated on another thread how paypal made e-bay more expensive. If you look at most tackle on amazon. It is often twice the price of most e-bay sellers.

I agree with all of the above. I would not do any business on e-bay without pay pal. Just wished amazon would accept it.
  13. I use 10 and 15 pound kastpro on my spinning rods. To me it seems just as strong as power pro. I only have 1 issue with it. It is so limp, that if you get much twist in the line it is susceptible to wind knots. More so than power pro.
  14. I find this post interesting. Like @Hawkeye21 mentioned, not sure what you are talking about with fees. there are no fees with paypal. Some people will not buy online if a business does not accept paypal. What is better? To give everyone you do business with, on the internet, your credit card info. or just giving your info to paypal and let them take care of your transaction.
  15. I only fish a ned rig or drop shot if the bite is tough. There are several ways to retrieve the ned rig. I very seldom drag it across the bottom. I use it for smallies much more than I do largemouth To me the drop shot is the most boring. reminds me of watching paint dry. I occasionally use it , but it is definitely a last resort bait. T rig - Ol monster Shakeyhead - trick worm Drop Shot - roboworm Wacky Rig - senko Carolina Rig - super fluke Ned Rig- 1/2 zinkerz
  16. If you are not sure, ask the dealer or contact mercury. Don't rely on opinions from a forum. the first 10 hours of a motors life is the most critical.

Since you live in upstate New York. I would have him look into Magna international out of Toronto. I worked for them 28 years before retiring. They treat the employees very well and have apprenticeship programs in the robotics field. They also have several facilities in the US. I worked out of Iowa and Kansas City.
  18. Don't think I would want to tangle with an angry eagle. The local lake stocks trout every spring and the bald eagles hang out in trees overhanging the water, waiting for one to swim by. you don't realize how big they are until one takes off 10 foot above your head. It definitely gets your attention.
  19. Russ E replied to Gundog's topic in Everything Else
Before I retired we had trouble finding people skilled in robotics. We started our own training facility in the factory. It is a good field to get into, but it often comes with long hours and sometimes travelling.
  20. while we will not hit -20, at possibly below zero, the AFC championship game could be the coldest game ever played at Arrowhead stadium. Definitely another game I will be watching in my living room.
  21. I have only been in -20 degrees weather once. It was when I lived in eastern Iowa. It was the most miserable weather I have ever seen. Any exposed skin, felt like it was burning, and it hurt to breathe.
  22. I joined 2 1/2 years ago and I am nobody. This is a great site. Very seldom ever sit down at night without my laptop opened to bass resource.
  23. I check the below tables occasionally, but honestly have not noticed a difference in success based on them. some of my best days were classified as poor fishing times and days. personally I think current conditions have a much larger influence on success. https://www.bassmaster.com/best-fishing-times-fishing-calendars
  24. I am trying the 8lb flourokote on my shakyhead spinning rod. the first thing I noticed is it has very little memory. It works well on a spinnining reel. it also has a small diameter for copoly. the abrasion resistance and knot strength is similar to most mono lines. I am also trying 12lb on my jerkbait rod. seems to work well. one thing I noticed with flourokote is it seems to have more stretch than most 100% flourocarbon lines.
  25. I live 1/2 hour away from arrowhead. I will be watching it from my living room.
