30 years ago I used pistol grip BPS tourney special rods for spinnerbaits and crankbaits. they have been in storage for 25 years. got one out last year to try out. Not sure how I ever fished with them. fat handle feels weird to hold onto. gave them to a neighbor that liked them.

I have google fiber. pay $200.00 month for high speed internet, home phone, 4 tv's with sports and starz package. I watch the outdoor and sportsmans channel occasionally, but they can get boring in a hurry. Watch AHC, Science, and the NGC channels more. MY wife is disabled and likes the movie channels. looked at all the streaming providers, but none of them have the channels I want. Probably will not be cutting the cord anytime soon.

thats a good deal for a 5XD. didn't find any of them on sale here. Don't see much for suffix at the local walmarts. they have a ton of spiderwire, but I am not a fan.

Generally people usually ask more than what they will actually accept. A seller can always come down on a deal. Don't often here people selling items for more than they asked. Personally i would make a terrible salesman. I am notorious for not asking enough for an item I have for sale. by the time I am ready to sell something it no longer has much value to me.

I had an old 1985 9.9 force. it had a serious attitude problem. it only started when it was in the mood. more than once it almost got sacrificed to the lake gods. best thing I ever did with that motor was sell it.

I prefer 4 carrier braids like power pro. Lately I have been using KastKing Kastpro which is nearly the same line as power pro, but cheaper. The kastpro does not seem to fade as fast as power pro.

I have done that with a diver to get a few feet deeper, but never with a ratl trap.

I can't imagine what-40 would feel like. growing up in eastern Iowa I remember a couple -20 days. It might get below zero tonight here in KC, but that is relatively rare here. by Friday it is supposed to be around 49 degrees. The biggest problem here is the huge swings in temperature. You never get conditioned to the cold. Don't want to shut the thread down yet. I plan on trying to catch a fat power plant lake Bass Friday.

$4.97 is the regular price for ratl traps in the walmart stores around here. problem is they are usually sold out of the good colors. yesterday the local walmart had red eye shads on sale for $5.00.

hopefully it is real. Lost too many people to that disease. If it's true., hopefully the U.S. does not take 10 years to approve it.

I also use the 3XD, 5XD, and 6XD.. The 3XD and 5XD probably get the most use. The 6XD seems to catch more catfish and drum on the KC area lakes I fish. I don't go any deeper than the 6XD with crankbaits. In my opinion there are better baits for deeper water. Plus a day of chucking and winding deep divers can turn into work. I prefer to have fun on the water. Like @Bluebasser86 I keep the colors simple. Most of the lakes I fish are stained or murky.

^^This. My last boat had a new motor that sat for 6 years. When we pumped the bulb to pressurize the lines, gas ran out the exhaust. It was a 2 stroke 50hp mercury. Before I bought it we took it to a mercury dealer. the motor was fine, but the carburetor had to be cleaned and seals replaced. after that I ran it hard for 10 years before trading the boat.

after thinking about it for a while I came to the conclusion that I don't have a particular style. I try not to lock myself into one technique. I used to throw soft jerkbaits 95% of the time, but finally realized I was limiting my success. there are usually 6 different rigs ready on the deck, that will all get used sometime during an outing. I look at an area I want to fish and let conditions decide which technique to use. this has increased my success dramatically.

There is one sitting in the entry way at the local bass pro. Looks like last years model. The only difference I could tell was the grey carpet

There are a lot of crankbait brands. Any of them will work. I use strike king series 3 the most. Mainly because nearly everyone sells them. Academy h2o sxpress are good economy crankbaits.

I am left handed. I learned to use right handed spincast reels as a kid and never changed. I cast with the left hand and reel with the right hand, with spinning and casting reels. even though I am left handed, I can't use a left handed reel. It feels backwards to me.

I have fished from a pontoon boat a few times. It depends on where you are fishing and how big the pontoon boat is. if you fish relatively open water they are fine. Actually a lot of fun if you take a family. If you fish in timber or around cover they are not ideal. A lot harder to maneuver than a regular boat.

ordered 3 Dobyns fury rods and 3 Kastking speed demon pro rods from Amazon. never had a broken rod . they ship the rods in heavy cardboard tubes. I received 1 with a broken tube, but the post office damaged it, after trying to deliver to the wrong address 3 times.. Luckily the rod was still unharmed.

FOR $100.00 I would go with a diawa tatula CT. You can get them on eBay for right at $100.00. If you want to go cheaper theKastKing royal legend elite reel is really nice. It is around $65.00 on Amazon. Both are good reels. The diawa has the magforce brake, The kastking has a magnetic brake.
