You know what they say about the weather.......

Looks like it's going to be a little nippy this weekend.

-20 will get your attention.

Notice the 8-12 inches of snow we may get on Saturday. So glad I'm off work that day. 44 more days till spring. That's usually when we get the worst snow storms. :P

I have only been in -20 degrees weather once. It was when I lived in eastern Iowa.

It was the most miserable weather I have ever seen. Any exposed skin, felt like it was burning, and it hurt to breathe.

Y’alls weather is more consistent than mine.......... consistently colder!!!!

I went to my girlfriends parents just after New Years last year in extreme northwest Ohio for 5 dAys. It’s never got above 7 or 8 and was usually -15 and windy. What in the world is that all about???!!!!! I don’t know how you people can stand that. Kudos to those who live in the tundra, that takes a special amount of mental fortitude

while we will not hit -20, at possibly below zero, the AFC championship game could be the coldest game ever played at Arrowhead stadium.

Definitely another game I will be watching in my living room.

February is often our 'coldest' month.

Sort of glad it's also the shortest.

That will be fun to watch! I remember that Seahawks Vikings playoff game a few years ago when it was well below zero and windy. Blair Walsh missed a gimme field goal to lose the game, problem is I can’t remeber what team he played for. I know he played college ball at Georgia......

I actually recall 2015 being pretty cold because I was renting a log cabin with only a wood stove for heat. It was a fisher “mama bear” though and it would hold some giant logs

Just crazy how cold it gets for some of you guys. I'm up in the mountains and we get a ton of snow up around our passes (up to 5 additional feet expected in the next 24 hours), but it's rare for us to get anywhere near 0* let alone in the negative range.

Fair enough but just because you're used to it - 5 & 6 FEET of snow at a time ~ is crazy too.

Growing up in Nebraska, I was used to the cold and as a kid remember going sledding and playing outside when it was below zero on a regular basis.  You do get used to it.  I was in North Dakota for a while with work and it was -30 air temp.  Everywhere you went there were plugs to plug your engine heaters in so your car would start, even the rental cars had plug in heaters.  What really made me laugh was that one of the "locals" came into the office with a lined windbreaker on and told me it's not really that cold yet.   I spent 2 years in Florida and when I came back to my home in Virginia, it took me 3 years to bet re-acclimated to any kind of cold weather.  Since I will be retiring this year, I will start my quest to find a place to hide from old man winter for good.  I also lived in Massachusetts for a while and while I was in the middle of relocating, staying in a Residence Inn, I remember getting up one morning after a snow and seeing nothing but car antennas sticking out of the snowbanks.  After we bought our house which was on 5 acres out in the woods, we had a snowfall where when I got up in the morning and went to open the garage door to "dig out" and there was 1 foot of clearance between the snow and the roof.  I climbed up on the snow and my knees were even with the gutters.

Here in north and east Texas, we do have the occasional cold fronts. Last year, it hit 6 degrees on Lake Athens. This is likely a temperature many of you experience off and on every year, and even colder.

Our issues relate to how very fast weather can change, that and wind. Texas is windy.

A "funny" attached showing something us Texans are all familiar with. Check the foreground, check the mirror!  Brad

More bread and milk! We are looking at heavy rain and the possibility of a couple of

inches of snow. That's the equivalent of 3' up north.

Yeah.  A couple of inches of snow and brutally cold lows in the 20s.  It's gonna be bad in Tennessee this weekend!

You down staters are soft. :P  They are calling for almost 2' up here.  We will get nailed by lake effect from both Erie and Ontario.

I have no plans to ever live up north again. Kudos to all y'all

that love it, do the ski thing, snow mobiles, dog sledding, etc.

Living in the Rochester, NY area in the 70s, early 80s and mid-

late 90s was enough for me. Not a wus, just prefer to be in

weather that is more friendly. And I like year-round fishing that

doesn't involve drilling holes in ice.

The Russians have used Siberia for both criminal and political incarceration.

What are you guys living up north charged with?

Well if the ponds here are going to freeze solid I wish they would hurry up and do it.  I want to walk out to that stump and get my crankbait back.
