I fish Flukes year round.Weightless most of the time.Winter time I fish them on a Sworming Hornet with a slow retrieve since 2013 when I caught 2 10 pound largemouth on back to back casts.You could say I got hooked on Flukes that day and my best 5 went 41 pounds.I also like to fish them on a Carolina rig in cold water.

I get a lot of bites in cold water with a slower retrieve fishing rattlers.Changing directions helps trigger bites.As the water warms I speed up my retrieve and start to yo-yo the bait a lot more Vary the speed and let the bass tell you how they want it.From September to May I’ve always got one tied on and ready on the front deck.It’s been my favorite search bait because it catches lots of fish and I can cast it a long way and cover water.

All my hatches are aluminum. I just feel safer especially with a fused spine walking on good plywood than synthetic composite material that doesn’t last forever either. To each his own.

The marine plywood decks on my boat are 21 years old and in excellent shape. I removed and replaced the carpet(20oz.) and no problems whatsoever.i like the feel of wood under my old carpenter bones.

Ebare won at Clarks Hill last spring and had big fish to boot with a9 plus pounder.it was the first time he ever fished there and it’s very unusual to hear of someone winning on The Hill on the first go round.

I keep a 5-6 pistol grip bait caster rigged for narrow creeks and dock areas. Much easier casting in tight areas
