Casinos in Richmond Virginia
I went to MGM National Harbor for a nice weekend to catch a comedy show, dinner, and some table games with my wife every year before COVID hit. To me, it's all about the experience and a different form of entertainment than the usual bar and dance routine. I think National Harbor was planned well, the outlet shops, dining experience, and waterfront views. Now, if only they had a resort with boat docks....... Hopefully Richmond can replicate that experience.

Maryland's Who's who!
Went to Widewater around 4:30PM and started on the Burma Rd side, water is really low, I was able to walk pretty far along the rocks after getting to the first big rock. I threw a spinnerbait and paddle tail through, under, and around all the timber and got a couple nibbles, but I'm pretty sure they were just spawning crappie. I saw several of them swimming near one of the big laydowns. Next I walked up and around to the towpath side and threw in the pool below the lock. Nothing here either, and again the water was really low so I was able to climb down and parallel the towpath down on the exposed rocks. It was getting dark so I hustled to the big bridge and the pool next to also had exposed banks so I walked around and didn't get anything but snot grass. Walking back to the towpath I was just casting at 45 degrees out and finally got a bite on the paddletail. A 1.5lber, but wide shoulders and not as cold as I thought she'd be. Widewater should turn on soon though. I will probably fish this or go for shad until my new boat numbers come in.

Lawyers = Legal Crooks
It may be against the local ethics board if your lawyer farmed out your case without telling you. Standard is 33% goes to the PI lawyer, not 33% to one lawyer, and a 16% broker fee...unless you signed something agreeing to that arrangement. If it was never disclosed, it doesn't hurt to make an inquiry with the state bar association.

2 shot club
Just FYI for those who don't think they qualify. Category 1C Critical Infrastructure is pretty broad, and I think all states are in this phase since the Fed is. The company I work for is considered essential in MD, and my position in the finance department qualified me for 1C, I verified this directly from the Deputy Secretary of Public Health Services in MD. I pre-registered under 1C from MD's COVID site, and I got the text to confirm my two shots about a week later. https://www.cisa.gov/sites/default/files/publications/ECIW_4.0_Guidance_on_Essential_Critical_Infrastructure_Workers_Final3_508_0.pdf

2 shot club
Got my first shot yesterday (pfizer) around lunch time. Only side effect was that I couldn't clean up dinner, run the dishwasher, or help put the kids to bed. But those side effects wore off by 9PM and I was perfectly fine watching Curse of Oak Island with some bourbon.

Show your ride...
Yep - next time I pull her out to break in the engine, I have automotive wall padding ready to go onto those areas. So I use a trailer valet 5x, which FryDog uses too. I ordered it from Amazon, but they initially sent me the XL, which is like $300 more and hooks up to the ball, which I didn't want. I'm planning to send the XL back to Amazon, but if you're interested in the XL you can have it for what I paid ($476), but it's heavy and shipping will probably be $100, just a guess.

Show your ride...
Fits in the garage like a glove........now I gotta hang some overhead storage racks because all of our beach stuff is spread across the lawn. Thanks @fishwizzard for rendering some CAD drawings, it was a lot closer than I thought it would be, mostly because I had to swing the engine to the left. I would get a few more inches if I could swing to the right and angle it the other direction, but I can't.

Show your ride...
Just got back from picking up the Lund 1875 PVB XS, 12 hours each way to WI, but it was well worth it. Big shout out to @FryDog62 for lots of info about the boat, and also @A-Jay with some dimension info. Can't wait to get her broken in on the water!

Maryland's Who's who!
Took a quick hike down Swain's to the big rock with a stogie and an BFS rod with just an in-line spinner around 4:30PM. Water level is about the same as normal, but there's a lot of floating duckweed and algae left over from last year still. I didn't have a lot of open areas to cast, but I got one hit in the wide shallow area. Lots of carp were schooled up and spawning, and lots of blue gill were active. I only saw 2 decent sized bass, but they're getting active too. With all the duckweed and algae right now, I think it'll be an early frogging season in this stretch. Oh, and I got bombarded by mosquitos in an area where there's standing water on the other side of the towpath.....ugh.

Has Anybody Used One of These for Knot Tying?
Gonna try mid week during the warm up with a nice My Father Judge.

Has Anybody Used One of These for Knot Tying?
I have it, and use it when I tie a FG at home. It does make it easier but isn't necessary. It's just a tool, like many other things.

What do you think is next?
That's what my son and I do during the winter...Real VR Fishing on Oculus Quest 2, it's pretty fun and we get to kill time together.

What Does Your Dicks Sporting Goods Look Like?
The DSG near me is stock really well, I buy stuff from them if I'm in a pinch and also because they have a kick ass hand-pulled noodle place across the street, but usually just get my stuff from TW.

Favorite budget bourbon and rye...
It's good stuff, but MSRP is about $90, way over the OP's listed budget, otherwise I'd rattle off about 100 annual release whiskeys. Kinda low...ECBP C919 was 136.8 proof and was delicious.

humminbird g3 vs g4
- Have you thought of moving to a warmer state??
Yes it is, I could really get used to this, flat fishing off the Causeway with a stogie and my youngest boy.- Have you thought of moving to a warmer state??
I get less tolerant of winter every year in the DC metro area. We spent a month in Sanibel, FL to do virtual work and school for our kids. Her family is in NJ, and mine is in MD. It's sad to say, but I think when our parents are no longer with us, we'll have a serious discussion about moving down there.- Free shipping - cost me.
Sometimes I get to $120, then I add another $30 of stuff to get a $10 shirt.- GPS Heading Sensor
So after reading about power issues, screens, charts, waypoint management on the Solix's. I went ahead and ordered the older Helix G3N's from BPS since there's no changes that I would use (wifi).- Daiwa T-Wing, FG knots, and leader length
What line are you using? I use 40lb braid to 17lb fluoro with some of my T-winged Daiwas, and never actually got hung up. Sure I feel the bump, but that's it. Also, whenever I break off, it's usually at the lure knot, or at a nic in the line. I've never broken off at the leader knot using a FG or Alberto knot.- GPS Heading Sensor
Went to BPS to check them out and I got to fiddle with the Solix...ugh...I may have to wait for the Solix G3N. The Helix G3N is $1600 on sale at BPS right now though....$900 for touch screen and a customizable map. Also, I read the Ultrex heading sensor only works when the TM is deployed because the GPS unit is in the TM head...so I may end up getting a rear heading sensor for the console.- Questions on potential new boat choices
I move around a 700lb 14' fiberglass boat/motor/trailer pretty easy in my garage. I can actually pick up the tongue and carry it around. - Have you thought of moving to a warmer state??
