Mental health issues?
After suffering a TBI that caused a stroke Im now dealing with brain issues, anxiety, and stress that will probably never change. I had two different Dr appointments today with the last telling me to stop taking the meds I was trying since they are actually making things worse. On top of it all I went from working 50 hrs a week to hardly leaving the house for almost a year now and Ive gained 30 lbs. I had never heard of neuro-fatigue until now and it sucks, most days Im just tired and no one understands it as no one can see my brain isn't 100% and doesn't function like it did and never will. That causes more anxiety, its a never ending cycle.

Contemplating a kayak
I seen a saying once that said to buy your second kayak first and I would believe it. I upgraded twice before getting my pedal-driven Native Slayer Propel 10 brand new from Cabelas for a little over $1000. I have had it 3 years now and I think I finally got it outfitted the way I want it. If you can find a local dealer and demo as many kayaks as you can.If they don't have what your looking for maybe join some FB fishing groups and see if anyone would be willing to let you try theirs out. The most important thing with a kayak is to wear a PFD 100% of the time while on the water.

I Should Be Fishing
I don't have a honey-do list as I try to knock them out as soon as its asked, you know, happy wife happy life. I have a great wife who very supportive of me fishing, its the only hobby I have. She has literally told me, and meant it, not to come home unless I catch some fish. She's a bit of an old-soul though as she says yard work is for men and house work is for women, I still clean after myself so our house is always clean anyways. I don't fret over yard work as I like to stay on top of it anyways. So basically as long as I feel ok and the weather is decent then Im good to go anytime I want, is it ever enough though?

anyone have no interest in fishing with sonar, and maybe prefer the 'old wayze?'
I use it only cause I need all the help I can get but then I suck at dialing in a fish finder a well.

What got you "started" on your favorite brands? Nostalgic story time
Im hoping to get whatever fishing stuff he had next time I visit my hometown.I do have his .30-30 that was given to him when he retired, its has fired a total of 3 rounds. It is my most prized possession and will stay in my safe until I pass on.

What got you "started" on your favorite brands? Nostalgic story time
Only 1 brand pops in my head from memories and its Zebco. I grew up fishing with my grandpa and all he used was Zebco 33 reels when they were made in USA and metal. He never used an artificial lure only night crawlers or toby worms along with plastic floats. He grew up in a time where if you didn't fish, farm and hunt you didn't eat and that's all he knew. Later in his life I think he fished for fun but still kept and ate anything worthwhile. Outside of that there was literally 3 restaurants he ever got food from and that itself was a rare occurrence, Captain Ds, KFC and Shoneys. I never seen that man eat a slice of pizza! My grandma cooked from scratch daily 95% of the time as well as worked full time. So for me Zebco will always have a place in my heart even though I don't own any of their stuff today.

Handgun for my wife
I bought my wife an EZ 380 a few years back and its still in the safe and yet to be shot.At the time the 9mm wasn't out or we would have bought it instead. She has wrist issues and it was the only pistol she could rack at our LGS.

Solo launching Jon Boat with no ramp and a small drop off and sand...Would this work?
I think your best bet is an electric winch, if you don't want to drag the boat across land due to damaging it you can DIY some keel guards fairly easy out of Kydex.

TOUGH WATERPROOF TACKLE STORAGE
If I didn't already have a Blackpak for my kayak and was in the market I would get an Engel cooler with the rod holders.

Those painful pet peeves!
I watch tons of kayak fishing on Youtube in my down time and the sayings a lot of them use is plain wore out. I think the worst is "Lets Go" every time they catch a fish, not sure who started that one but it can GO already. Also the silly names for bass like slounch, donkey, bucket mouth, dink etc can also go.

Close Encounters of the Snake Kind...
Im not a fan of snakes but I respect them and the role they play in the ecosystem. You have to remember you are in their house when you are outdoors. I have had a few water snakes get close while Im on my kayak but they were just looking for a spot to get out of the water. The best thing I done was join a snake page on FB that has admins who can identify any snake species in TN, Ive learned a lot so far. I think snakes get a bad rep for no reason and untrue things are spread like snakes chasing people, snakes being cottonmouths(water moccasins) when their not. I think probably the biggest misconception, even for me, is venomous snakes float or ride on top of water which isn't true. Any snake can be on the top of the water and all snakes can be in water. I also learned that no snakes are poisonous and a few are venomous.
