Do slightly out of line rod guides affect performance?
I see both sides and definitely understand where you are coming from. I hope they figure everything out and take care of the issues. What I recommend doing (no idea if they will) is to recommend if they require return shipping be paid for returning the rod then I would ask for a promo code/discount for the next order over $100. This would ensure they still make a little money on the future order and they still keep you as a long-term customer. Ultimately, a win-win situation. Goodluck!

New to Drop Shot
I think for a max budget of $200 for the rod and reel the Fuego and Bass X is an excellent choice.

Which reel for 1/2 Jigs (paddle tails) for ZBONE MH 7'6''
The 7.1:1 Steez you had on it should be fine. The 7.1:1 reel should give the setup a lot more versatility. While the 8.1:1 would be more beneficial for jigs personally I don't think 8.1:1 is at all ideal for throwing paddle tails swimbaits especially if you are throwing big 5-7 inch swimbaits like a Basstrix or Keitech on a weighted swimbait hook. (Just my opinion. Everyone is different.) I am also not a big fan of the Aldebaran MGL especially for those applications. It was designed as a BFS reel so more on the finesse side. I would likely keep fishing the reel and see if anything at ICAST interests you. You may end up liking the setup more than you originally did. Hope this helps!

Seaguar Tatsu Vs Sunline Shooter
Both are amazing lines but are very different lines. Tatsu in general is more manageable and holds less memory. Shooter is more abrasion resistant, and is better overall for pitching/flipping IMO. Tatsu is an amazing lines as it fuses two different resins to create the most versatile line available. It has a hard inner resin for strength and utilizes a softer outer resin for manageability as it is more supple. Hope that helps!

What is the ultimate 1/2oz Jig combo?
There are a lot of great jig rods but the FMJ is among the best as its a beast of a jig rod. I own one as well!

What is the ultimate 1/2oz Jig combo?
Great choice. But the OP didn't specify whether he was pitching docks or throwing football jigs deep. If he was fishing football jigs then I would choose the Valdivia but the FMJ is awesome for pitching jigs around docks.

What is the ultimate 1/2oz Jig combo?
More information is needed. Deep water fishing football jigs, pitching jigs around docks, etc? This will help to better recommend the correct rod, reel, and line best suited.

The One Rod to Upgrade
I would definitely look at the Expride or Orochi XX series to meet yours needs as a jig/texas rig rod.

Keeping rods and tackle in the car during warm months?
Do not leave any gear in your car unless it is kept in a garage. I have two buddies that have had their vehicles broken into the past month and had all their gear stolen. Luckily, they got pictures of the theives. Also, like others have said it can degrade some of your lines/lures. Haha I don't use JJ's Magic as I use Spike It due to this reason. The JJs is like a pressurized bomb in the heat haha. Definitely a good choice to not leave it in your car as the pressure builds up in the glass container.

How to have more fun when not catching em
Trust me I suffer from the same thing. It's all mentality. It can be discouraging when you aren't catching but its important to always think that each cast could be the cast to catch one. I have had times where I was fishing and was discouraged and not paying attention and got a bite and missed it. So just try to stay as positive as possible. Another thing I like to do to enjoy myself more is to take a friend who would just enjoy being out there. It helps me calm down and enjoy myself more. Also, go fishing new areas of the lake and study the new areas.

Use for 12# trilene xl smooth cast?
I'd sell it locally to prevent paying shipping or donate it if you don't intend to use it or don't want to go through the hassle of selling.

Fishing eyes
Contact the manufacturer of the rod and let them know what happened. They will tell you what you need to do.

Chronarch or Curado
The Dobyns DX745 is a great rod that balances very well. I think either reel choice would balance out the setup very well. I personally have a DX745 F/H and a Shimano Bantam MGL HG and love the setup. I would put the Curado I on the DX745 as it is a 7.2:1 thus has a higher IPT than the 150 MGL, which will be beneficial for what you intend to do. However, it comes down to what works for you.

You guys were absolutely right: the best way to get better at fishing is to actually go out and fish!
While I agree that fishing is essential to improving as a fisherman. However, you can learn a lot about fishing and become a better fisherman by understanding basics such as the effect of weather on fish, importance of colors and lure selection with changes in the seasons and weather, and when to use certain techniques in situations through videos by pros, watching tournament footage, and talking with other fisherman. Both supplement each other to improve all anglers. But I agree that regarding casting technique, using/implementing the knowledge gained from other sources, skipping docks, trying new techniques, and applying everything they learned requires practice on the water.

Spinning reels without reverse
I think removing it was a good move but that's just my opinion as I don't backreel as I have no need to. I'd guess that only 1 in 25 guys actually backreel. Thus the cost/benefit to have the feature is not worth it for the manufacturers. In addition, the drag systems are very reliable and smooth nowadays. Overall I find the drag system on the reels more effective than back reeling.

New Dropshot Rod (Steez AGS?)
I don't have any on the water experience with the 7 ML Fast Steez AGS rod but the taper feels great for a dropshot. Hopefully others can provide input regarding sensitivity comparisons.

Cork sealer vs Winn grip
Most all the rod makers are doing this as the price of premium cork is extremely expensive. You will see very low grades of cork in rods under $150 and especially under $100 that's why a lot use EVA.

852s NRX @ Reg. Price vs 852s GLX on Sale?
No problem. I see you are from the SW Florida. I am taking a trip down to Jupiter and going to try to fish the Big O. Weather looks like its been storming everyday all day. How's the Big O been fishing?

852s NRX @ Reg. Price vs 852s GLX on Sale?
The new GLX are 20% lighter, balance much better, increased handle length which helped the balance points. Overall they fish much better in my opinion than the previous GLX. A lot of small things they did with the handle and reel seat to improve the rod aesthetically and in terms of overall feel. G Loomis definitely spent a lot of time perfecting the GLX. In terms of balance it balances better than the NRX but sensitivity is not quite as good as the NRX but still very impressive.

Ferrule Crack on Travel SB Rod
Given its availability and affordability, I wouldn't repair the rod unless there is some attachment. The cost of repair and shipping will be enough to make me just buy a brand new rod unless it was expensive. I see the rods brand new for around $80-$90

852s NRX @ Reg. Price vs 852s GLX on Sale?
The new GLX rods are much improved over the prior generation but still a great rod. Make sure it's the new edition if so definitely get the GLX.
