  2. You need a Heavy Power/ Fast Action rod, 65 lb braided line and a drag setting of 4 lbs. 8-)
  3. Just a little shy of 22-4. 8-)
  4. This should help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1246539286 I suggest buying a big retailer's house brand, on sale.

  6. If you are targeting smallmouth 5 lbs and less, the St. Croix Avid AVS66MLF matched up with a Stradic 1000FI is fine. For a little more money, the G. Loomis SJR783 or SJR843 IMX or GLX are perfect. For bigger fish, I prefer G. Loomis GLX PR844S. Mine is matched with a Stella 2500FD and Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6. On this rod smaller fish are still fun, but it also handles 30 lb buffalo and drum! When you have the fish of a lifetime tugging on your line, this is a rod you can depend on. 8-)
  7. Hmm...Imagine that... A company making the extra effort to deliver a perfect product, every time. Whoda thunk it? Thanks Big O! ;D ;D ;D
  8. With all the kudos for Owner Hooks, I picked up a couple of packs of 5/0 EWG Offset Worm Hooks. I'm sure I'll like them as much as everyone else that has commented here. However, I have been using a variety of Gamakatsu Hooks for the past decade or so. I have never had an issue of any kind; never straightened a hook or broken one. 8-)
  9. Most of mine are kept in my fishing room on shelves; stored in 3700 boxes by "type" or displayed on shelves in their original packages. The lures "I might use" on a trip are in 3600 boxes in a tackle bag, all boxed individually so there are fewer choices and immediate access (no tangles). Finally, the lures "I plan to use" on any given day are kept in a 14" X 12" divided box which opens on both top and bottom. Generally, I'm pre-rigged and never use another lure! p.s. I also carry a small "Man Bag" for accessories.
  10. CONGRATULATIONS!

  16. The closest thing to a sure bet would be fishing Stick Marsh/Farm 13 with George Welcome: http://imaginationbassin.com/ 8-)
  17. You're going to need a lot of help...No one will respond to an "innovational tournament & invasions will be sent..." Why do you think anyone would want to fish in your tournament? Have you built a reputation for organizing anything like this? Expenses will be huge, guarantees needed and payouts extraordinary. This is never going to happen.
  18. If you are fishing a standard 2500 series spinning reel, #12 Ultra Soft is too heavy. I recommend #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb breaking strength). For baitcasting gear, #12 is perfect (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb breaking strength). 8-)
  19. Curado 200 E7 Although you will add reels to your collection over time, this is one you will always fish. Shop around or just keep an eye on our Flea Market. You can buy a Curado for around $150. I consider the Curado 200 E7 the "Best Value" at this pricing point. 8-)
  20. If you are looking for something in particular, buy it now. Then check back weekly for better prices. Most of the lures, especially the higher priced names, you can wait on. The soft plastics vary, but when GYCB hit 50% off, they were all gone! 8-)
  21. For all-around use, and specifically for fishing jigs and soft plastics, the G. Loomis IMX MBR844C is what I would recommend. 8-)
  22. Unless you trailer your boat or motor some distance into Mississippi, a Tennessee license is all you will need. Alabama doesn't come into play on this part of the lake. 8-)
  23. The conditioner should be applied BEFORE an outing, not during a trip. Ideally, apply KVD Line & Lure Conditioner to the entire line on the new spool when you buy it. Then, apply again as you re-spool. KVD Line & Lure Conditioner performs EXACTLY as described.
  24. Bad luck or some other cause. KVD Line & Conditioner will not have any impact on the integrity of any lines, including braid. In fact, applying KVD to braided line will reduce friction and allow for longer casts and fewer professional overruns! 8-)
