  1. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  2. Getting screwed again, BIG TIME! Oil is currently $36.21 and has traded around $40 for weeks. However, during this same, relatively calm period, local gas has moved up from a low of $1.37 to $1.79 - $1.89. Who's looking out for the "folks"? >
  3. You must change the channel a lot. Since the merger, XM has been chock full of commercials. Last time I'll renew my sub. They may declare bankruptcy later this week. Their stock dropped 47% this morning from $.11 to $.06. http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2009Feb10/0,4670,SiriusBankruptcy,00.html
  4. The industry does not have set standards, but Ande is a good proxy. Ande lines hold more World Records than all other brands combined and is IGFA certified. #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Ultra Soft have EXACTLTY the same diameters as Ande Premium (.010"); #12 Hybrid is slightly thinner, .013" vs .014". http://www.andemonofilament.com/specifications.htm http://www.yo-zuri.com/Products/Prodline/HybridLineChart.htm 8-)

  6. Major league baseball sucks in so many ways... I hope they throw A-Rod under the bus! >
  7. Man, that's beautiful! 8-)
  8. I agree! I like the Techna AV series, it's just that "full bore retail" seems too high priced for these rods. At $158 delivered, jump on it! 8-)
  9. I prefer MegaStrike mostly because it is user friendly and I believe fish hold a bait a split second longer. I also use JJ's Magic which can be applied to baits and kept in bags indefinitely. However, it is not particularly user friendly. Here's a homemade recipe: Catch a blue gill or any species of shad. Kill it and scrape the scales and slime into a container of Vaseline, then mix it up and apply to bait/ lures. 8-)
  10. If you shop around and keep an eye on our Flea Market, you might be able to pick up a G. Loomis IMX MBR844C for $200. Otherwise, St. Croix Avid AVC70MHF or 70HF. 8-)
  11. I think St. Croix lists that under "Salmon and Steelhead". It's too heavy unless you plan to troll or throw big swimbaits. I bought a comparable rod (AVC76HF) for striper fishing and decided it was more than I needed. I gave it to LBH for swimbaits, but he tried using it as an anchor without a rope! They don't float with a reel attached. 8-)

  13. Team Pampers <30 Team Depends >30 Suggestion for both teams: Learn to cast and set the hook with your forearms and wrists; less strain, less fatigue, maybe a little less distance on your cast, but greater accuracy. ;D ;D ;D ;D

  16. No. It's nothing more than silicone spray and can be used as a substitute for WD-40. 8-)
  17. Let's back up and start over with a plan: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196114229 Now how much do you want to spend? 8-)
  18. Start a new thread. Your edit has made this unnecessarily confusing. This thread is closed. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  19. Now, that there's quite a statement... Count on Burley Munson to liven it up! Back to the question: "Baitcasting set up for light weights, is it even necessary" The answer is no. ;D ;D
  20. Look back a page or two for a thread titled "Rat-L-Trap Type Lures". I have several Xr50 traps, but one is VERY special for some unknown reason. Maybe color isn't all that important, but be sure to pick up a Chrome Blue/ Orange anyhow! http://www.xcaliburtackle.com/photo_pop.asp?images/XCalibur_Baits_Rattle_Chrome_Blue_Full.jpg 8-)
  21. Nice fish, great pics! 8-)

That's what she says whenever you buy a couple of Lucky Craft. How 'bout shoes? I mean dollar for dollar, she leaves me in the dust! Her closet look like Macy's. 8-)
  24. Man, that's great! I sent you a PM, respond when you have time. Regarding the fish.... I'm not sure you needed that equipment... :
  25. YES! The perfect ending!
