Thanks for the "real life" review. I'll bet that kinda spoiled their day. 8-)

The way I have always heard this one is: "Second place is the first loser!"

Bass Resource Elite Members ?
We always discuss member comments and suggestions. Many members felt the Elite Series was disparaging to other members, especially to those who consistently contribute to the Forum. The program ran for about a year and has been dropped. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator

G-Loomis having production problems?
Man, that's a nice "problem" to have! 8-)

How bad would it be for Kim Bain to beat you in the classic?
I think all those that argue "she should have earned it" have a legitimate gripe. However, this is a professional tournament event which is designed to promote the sport, add interest and attract viewers, but most importantly...make money! So, the broad based appeal and all the free advertising of the "controversy" is appealing for B.A.S.S. BTW, On another thread I picked her to win. You Go Girl! 8-)

Yeah...and I bet three are still NIB! 8-)

Round Reels vs. Low Profile Reels?
Grasping the rod with one or two fingers in front of the trigger is very solid, the grip you have for the most part when fishing saltwater. Palming a reel is simply weaker. When fishing a big river, the rocks are always biting and the boat is usually moving rapidly with current. When a boulder "strikes", it is often surprising and always unforgiving. 8-)

Hmm... For $4.88 there isn't much downside. 8-)

Round Reels vs. Low Profile Reels?
I like round reels for power fishing, especially for bigger fish in a river environment. Other than your preference for the look of a low profile reel, the only advantage is palming for most guys. If you value you equipment, palming a reel is something you don't do on the Tennessee River. My round reels are CTE200GT. This reel is indestructible and as smooth as any other high end Shimano. I use mine for jig fishing, all of my striper fishing and on my deep-diving crankbait rod (SR705R) 8-)

What would you do?? ** UPDATE**
Be sure to write down the names of everyone you talk with. People tend to pay attention when they are "on record". Good luck, this really shouldn't happen. BPS customer service is one of the best. I have dealt with them on occasion without every having an issue of any kind.

Roadtrip Fishing Conditions
Yes, but only for three days of scheduled release. This will not be of concern for us. The TVA always generates electricity during the week, it's the weekend angler (me) that sometimes suffers. Our biggest potential concern is too much water. It rains a lot in the spring around here! Seriously, the weather will probably be nice and the water perfect. Spring is a great time of year in Kentucky and surrounding states. We are generally well past the cold spells of winter. 8-)

Rapala DT 20
I buy most hardbaits from BPS locally. Any lure, from any company, that is defective, becomes defective or breaks gets exchanged. I have never had much discussion and have never been denied. On the other-hand, they don't replace lost lures! 8-)

Micro, I hate your post...I already have enough jerkbaits that have never been used! Those you posted are BEAUTIFUL! 8-)

Warning: You Might Get Your Arm Broke!
Yes, that's the point: Texas-rigged and weedless. The Kreature is a perfect substitute for a swimming jig and doesn't have an exposed hook! 8-)

The Frugal Angler
Yeah, I know...I haven't ever used 75% of my lures. My favorite for "collecting" are jekbaits, but I only fish three or four. I always test them in my pool when I buy them, but otherwise most have never been wet! 8-)

crayfish imitations
Generally, I prefer a soft plastic as a trailer, not fished alone. However, after fishing with the Shak-E2, I have found the naked jig to be very effective. As trailers or by themselves, these are my favorites: GYCB Flappin' Hog, NetBaits Baby Paca Craw and for a smaller presentation, GYCB Fat Baby Craw. 8-)

swivel snaps
I have been experimenting with snaps (no swivel) on bigger lures that are not effected by the nominal weight. I don't notice any negative impact on the action of the lure. However, I'll stick with direct tie for soft plastics and jigs. 8-)

Sweet sassy molassy! Shimano cures all disease!
I know... We are making a concentrated effort to keep threads on topic. I admit, I have been an offender on occasion, but going forward, we will try to keep "other brands" out of the mix. However, when the typical "which brand" thread is posted, GAME ON! BTW, I'm still fishing the STX on my jig rod. Surprised? 8-)

Best All Around Crankin' Rod
My "all around" treble hook rod is a St. Croix Avid AVC66MF which has a soft tip. This is a great rod for working jerkbaits and topwater, but is also suited for medium weight crankbaits, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. This rod is saddled with the Core. My dedicated crankbait rod is an Avid AVC70MM. This is perfect for light and medium weight lures. The Moderate Action allows this rod to load up and cast a mile. Mine is matched up with a Metanium. For all heavy treble hook lures and especially deep divers, the Lamiglas SR705R is THE BOMB! It was on sale at Cabelas for $169, but is now $200. Still, this is a great stick. 8-)
