  1. I saw the piece and Kim came across as a very stong, confident angler. There is no reason she couldn't win it all. Catching fish is mostly about finding them, then presentation and lure selection. It seems to be that the only disadvantage women have is the restroom break! 8-)
  2. The Suwannee bass is actually a seperate species: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suwannee_bass 8-)
  3. Maybe this will help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196114229 Regarding reels, I would suggerst two Citica CI200DSV on sale and either a Symetre or Stradic 2500FI. 8-)
  4. Yep, I'll stay away from this thread. The only reason I posted was because the player trades and salaries were brought up on a radio station I listen to. For a fleeting moment I recalled fond memories from "back in the day." :-[
  5. I used to love baseball, but that was before the World Series strike. If I cared a thing about the game today, I would be appalled by the business platform they operate from. Individual players on "money teams" are being paid more than the ENTIRE roster of lesser franchises. It seems the only reason Kansas City has a "professional" baseball team is so the Yankees will have someone to play! Major League Baseball is a joke! :-X
  6. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  7. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  8. Before making that assumption you'll need to give the Avid and Legend Elite Series a try. Generally, the Avid is a "best value". Right now the Legend Elite are on sale for about the same price. http://www.reedssports.com/Category/main.taf?cat=1754 8-)
  9. You will be fine. I prefer Medium Power, it makes fishing more fun! Casting is easier for most light and medium weight baits and lures. The rod is powerful enough for all the bass you are likely to catch. 8-)
  10. Get in touch with GMAN: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=4B68665E4C6066686268606F010 You can look at his stuff here: http://www.custombassfishinglures.com/
  11. The BassResource.com Roadtrip was held at Guntersville last March. As a group we threw everything, but the "guide's choice" was Rat-L-Traps fished fast in very shallow water. 8-)
  12. I have a fairly extensive collection, but fish very few. My three favorites are: Lucky Craft Pointer 100, Baby Bass; Rapala Husky Jerk HJ10, Silver Blue; Rapala X-Rap XR08, Glass Ghost. 8-)
  13. I saw the interview and like you, thought his response was remarkable. In this day and age, outrage, anger and hate is all we expect to hear. Truely amazing. 8-)
  14. The answer is... http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/news/story?page=BigBass_wr_smb_Hayes 8-)
  15. I like a deep green with matching trailer, too. 8-)
  16. I wasn't paying attention...That is pretty funny. This thread is still running on the front page, about 5 lines down: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1228700443/0 8-)
  17. This thread has become much more interesting after hearing from guys that are really focused on fly fishing for bass. Good luck fellas! 8-)
  18. As far as I know, the Asian Carp has not yet infested the Cumberland or Tennessee Rivers. I have not heard other reports of this fish being caught in either Kentucky Lake or Pickwick. 8-)
  19. Reed's Family Outdoors Outfitters has their St. Croix rods on sale. I would recommend the Legend Elite EC70MHF. http://www.reedssports.com/Category/main.taf?cat=1754 8-)
  20. Dude... You had three or four threads running on this topic, a couple have been deleted. The rest of your posts deal with some very basic stuff. Although this Forum is all about answering questions and offering help, before making any more posts, spend some time in the BassResource.com Library: "Fishing Articles" and "Tacklebox" at the top of the page. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  21. George Welcome has complete information on his website, the one I posted above. His fee is $375 for a party of two. Guide service is a little cheaper around here, $275 - $350. I'm sure some other members from your part of Florida have some other recommendations and will post them soon. 8-)
  22. We have lots of members that feel the same way you do and it seems to be a trend that the industry has addressed. Most baitcasting reels, or at least mid-range and high-end reels, are offered in both left and right retrieve models. I copied George Welcome's post just to note that there is some basis for the way reels have traditionally been built. However, the other option is now readily available on many models and most brands. 8-)
