  1. Spinning tackle: finesse fishing Baitcasting gear: power fishing This might help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 8-)
  2. Your line will slip and you will be unable to retrieve lures or fish. So, yes, it will effect your fishing. Spool on about 30% mono and you will have plenty of braid to use. 8-)
  3. For an "all-around" combination, my recommendation is 6 1/2' or 7' Medium Power/ Fast Action. 8-)
  4. Spinning gear: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test) Baitcasting gear: Ultra Soft #12 (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb test) 8-)
  5. All GYCB baits can be bought direct: www.baits.com 8-)
  6. The Mattlures Baby Bass weighs 1.3 oz and can be fished with a MH or H Power baitcasting rig. No special equipment is required. 8-)
  7. Welcome aboard! Browse through the threads in this section for hundreds of tips. In addition to many serious smallmouth fishermen, we have several guides that contribute and participate in this section of the Forum. Good luck! 8-)

  9. Welcome aboard! First read everything in "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page, focusing on "Beginning Anglers". Then this will dress other Senko questions: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1121527643 8-)
  10. Got caught at the Pickwick Dam last summer. We knew we couldn't make it to the ramp so we holed up in a barge lock. We were surrounded by concrete walls on three side, at least 50' tall with light poles and such on top. It seemed we might be protected, but we were just making the best of a bad situation. For a little more than an hour a humongus thunderhead stalled over the boat, with torrential rain, lightening and jaw rattling thunder. We sat on the floor and waited out the storm. This was a life-threatening situation that I hope we never repeat. When I see lightening on the horizon, I'm on full alert. When I can hear thunder, I'm gone. :
  11. In use, Hybrid Ultra Soft has virtually no memory. This line is ideal for spinning tackle. #6 is .010" diameter, 11.9 lb test. However, I think you will find that #4 and #6 original Hybrid works, too. For $4.88, give it a shot! I have been using #12 Ultra Soft on baitcasting equipment, but I think you will find the original very manageable on casting gear. For the price, I decided to buy a couple of spools, too! 8-)
  12. Wow! That's really surprising. I remember when I voted she was way out of the hunt. You guys did a great job rallying the troops. 8-)

  14. I would try to get in touch with "Walker, Texas Ranger". :-?

  16. I am reminded of a locally owed Memphis radio station that created a niche for itself. As the station's popularity exploded, it got noticed. One of the networks offered the owners too much money to turn down and the company was sold. During the transition, the soon to be unemployeed turned the station into "Top Hits of 18th Century". Classical music without interruption. Maybe that works in a different market, but not in Haggard country! :
  17. Original Hybrid: Clear water: Green Stained water: Smoke (smoke purple) If your water is always "stained" green because of suspended algae, I would probably opt for green line. These lines blend very well and are virtually invisible. In snmaller diameters, the "clear" resembles a pure fluorocarbon, but tends to stands out in larger diameters. Hybrid Ultra Soft: Green is always the better choice, but I have some "clear" (white) which works just fine. Going forward, I will buy green. 8-)
  18. Or #6 Yo-Zuri original Hybrid, Ultra Soft or just about any line with the proper drag setting. 8-)
  19. Wow! I guess you don't need a lecture, but stories about fish breaking a line is my #1 pet peeve.
  20. Well, Lake Fork is the most pressured lake I have ever fished and there seems to be no impact on the fishing. Everyone uses most of the same stuff year after year, yet the lake still produces numbers and size for thousands of fishermen. 8-)
  21. Geez...A lot of guys spend more on a filler spool of line!
  22. C'mon...It's just a clever internet piece, that didn't really happen. Do you think an underwater cameraman could "capture the moment"? 8-)
