  2. I respectively choose to exercise my rights under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution: No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation. ” :

  4. Welcome aboard! I suggest trying a Yamamoto Single Tail Hula Grub, 5" grub, 3 1/2" Mizmo tube (Kent's Classic, squash green) and the Fat Ika. The hard baits that work best are jerkbaits: Lucky Craft Pointer 78 or 100; Rapala Husky Jerk , silver & blue; Rapala X-Rap in white. 8-)

This should help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1204486658/0 BTW, Welcome aboard! 8-)
  6. If you like your line, the line is fine for all applications. 8-)
  7. There are rumors that Shimano will introduce a new Curado, but parts and service will never be an issue. Shimano supports their products and will continue to provide parts for all of their service network. 8-)
  8. Initially you will need to try different settings, but once you have the reel "dialed in" to your preferred setting, no further adjustments to the centrifugal brakes are required. Most of my Shimano reels are set with two brakes on, but I have found that four works better for me on a couple of reels that I only use for certain techniques. 8-)
  9. ;D ;D CONGRATULATIONS! ;D ;D 8-)
  10. Among other things, the thrust of Bob's talk focused on Catch & Release versus harvesting fish. Perhaps we will get into the details later, but as a (THE) leading expert in pond management, Bob shared his experience with us in a very entertaining presentation. 8-)

  12. Burley., I'm pretty sure the citizens of Iowa are still allowed to travel to other parts of the country without a passport or visa during the colder months. :
  13. Fast action and a firm tip is exactly what you want for soft plastics and jigs. I think you are covered there. For your next rig I would suggest Medium Power/ Moderate Action or a rod with a soft tip for treble hook lures. Here is a combination on sale for $139 after rebate: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/horizontal-pod.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat20285&rid=&indexId=cat20285&navAction=push&masterpathid=&navCount=1&parentType=index&parentId=cat20285&id=0052451 8-)
  14. A simple cast and retrieve will usually work just fine. 8-)
  15. This will help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1158577137 Also, it seems the Rat-L-Trap type lures (chrome & blue) are hot right now. 8-)
  16. Tennessee bass like tobacco, beer and whisky! I don't think you need any scent on a reaction lure (spinnerbait). I'm not sure you need scent on a jig either, but I sometimes use it anyhow. 8-)
  17. Well, I bought one when they were first introduced and caught a real nice catfish! I haven't had much luck with the lure and don't like the weight, it's too light for my taste. On the otherhand, BPS had them on sale last year for $5 or $6 and I bought two more! I guess I'm just a collector. : I never fish the lures and would not recommend them.
  18. And Lucky Craft Pointer 128, Mattlures Baby Bass and everything heavy! 8-)
  19. My main soft plastics rod is the ES70MF. I also have the EC70MHF. Both of these rods and your EC70MF have a firm tip. The Lamiglas SR705R has a soft tip and is what I consider the ideal rod for all big treble hook lures and especially deep divers. p.s. It's currently on sale at Cabela's http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0037314120919a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=sr705r&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=sr705r&noImage=0 8-)
  20. Rick Clunn has set the bar high. KVD still has a long way to go. "The Best" of an era isn't the same as "The Best Of All Time." On topic, I suggest buying lures recommended by people you know or trust. This will save you a lot of money over time. Getting past the "marketing" is always difficult, but the magic comes from the magician, not the wand! 8-)
  21. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  22. The choice on this board is pretty much unanimous. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1205683892/2#2 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1204389862 8-)
  23. Although I am not convinced that color is that important, it is sometimes! Right now the two color combinations that seem to be working best, at least for Rat-L-Trap type lures, are red or chrome & blue. 8-)
