To prepare for the Guntersville trip I packed and repacked my tackle bag down to the stuff I thought I might "possibly use". As a round number, let's call that 20% of my gear. Next, in a two sided plastic box I gathered the tackle I would keep on the boat for "ready access". Then I rigged my rods. From Sunday through Friday I opened that box twice, but only once on the boat to change out the color of a RatlN' Vibe. So, I will fish more tackle throughout the year, but on a given trip, there are probably only a few things you actually need and might use. Everything else is "just in case". BTW, All the fish caught in the boats I was in were caught on Rat-L-Trap type lures and a 6" Senko. A few largemouth were caught on spinnerbaits, jigs and a frog by other members, but that was about it, as far as I know. 8-)

A 1/2 oz jig fits right back into a "full" pork container. 8-)

Well, if the universe is balanced, the good luck and bad luck might be, too. So, with all the bad luck yesterday, the future looks bright! 8-)

Suggestion: Put the jig with the pork attached back into the container. This will not hurt the jig and keeps the trailer fresh. 8-)

I don't think of these products as "attractants". I like the slime coat MegaStrike imparts and think fish might hold on a little longer if a soft plastic has a pleasant taste, but maybe not! : 8-)

We all fished Rat-L-Trap or like lures at Guntersville last week in very shallow water. In order to fish the lure, you hold the rod tip high and retrieve as fast as possible. This technique put fish in just about everyone's boat. 8-)

MegaStrike. This attractant has the consistancy of Vasoline and comes in a handy tube. MegaStrike is very user friendly. You will only need to apply it once on an outing. 8-)

Maybe we can rent two charter boats, one with CJ as guide and the other with Gene. That two boat combo should accommodate about 40 fishermen! The rest of us will just troll. 8-)

Thank you Bobby for sending a few to Guntersville for our guys to try out. I fished the Cavitron last summer and had one of my best days EVER! with the 3/8 oz version, black on black. In addition to immediatly getting up on plane, the Cavitron Buzzbait produces a unique "chirping" sound. When it's time to throw a buzzbait, this will be the only brand I use! 8-)
