  1. Marty, For every post you notice that has been moved, ten others were already moved. We try to make the various forums "consistant". Just because a thread hasn't been moved for several hours or even a day, doesn't mean it has been read and "approved" by a Moderator, sometimes it's simply overlooked. Regarding "giving the benefit of the doubt" to a poster, that's not an issue or option. Members are not always aware of where a thread belongs. Moving a thread is not an insult nor a criticism. For the most part, I hope all of the members appreciate our efforts to keep the Forum "organized". 8-)
  2. It's not a good deal unless they are a good lures. I suspect they are NOT! "Great lures" are often on sale for less than five dollars, including tax.
  3. Nope. I don't need five lures I will never fish, I already have a few...dozen(s)! : 8-)
  4. I hope you get some rain soon, things can change quickly. Texas was experiencing a severe drought that lasted several years, but the rains returned last year with a vengence. All of their reservoirs filled to capacity in 2007. 8-)
  5. Welcome aboard! You might want to spend some time in the BassResource.com Library, "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page. Here's the "Winter" section: http://bassresource.com/fishing/seasonal.html#winter Good luck! 8-)
  6. When we were drafted Glenn told us we would be in charge of the cheerleaders. The design for this group was supposed to be modeled after the Dallas program, but for some reason we haven't had many (any) applicants. :
  7. I think you're in fine shape! Does the Fenwick Eagle GT have a soft tip? For treble hooks I like Moderate Action, but Fast Action with a soft tip is just fine. That would probably be my choice for topwater, too. 8-)
  8. YES! I would go with the Citica 100, it will balance better with that rod. BTW, I have the Avid AC66MF. I don't fish braid, but it will work if that's what you are comfortable with. 8-)
  9. We use Sabiki Rigs to catch skipjack for bait: http://www.squidjig.com/fishinggear/sabiki_jigs.htm Maybe BIG Florida shiners will strike the tiny jigs, but "regular" shiners will not. What you probably need is a bait trap: http://www.catchnbait.com/bait-fish-trap-tips.htm
  10. Gene did all the leg work researching this post, so I don't want to steal his thunder, but... Lots of people outside the BR family don't fish the Fat Ika or Kreature, most people don't know about these baits. The cover/ structure/ depth conditions flukemaster describes are IDEAL for fishing these two lures. If this were a tournament or I was trying to compete with you guys, I would not mention them, but as a friend, I STRONGLY suggest picking up a bag or two! 8-)
  11. Recession: A period of economic decline. Specifically, a decline in GDP for two or more consecutive quarters. Recessionary periods are determined AFTER THE FACT. We could be entering a recession, but we have NOT been in one. In everyday use: A recession is when your neighbor loses his job. A depression is when you lose yours! :
  12. The 2500FI is the "perfect" size for bass fishing. Instead of 10-12 lb mono, I HIGHLY recommend #6 (.010" diameter) Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft which is approximately 11.9 lb test. This line is designed for spinning tackle. In use, this line has virtually no memory, casts VERY well and will not jump off the spool. 8-)
  13. That's what I was thinking. I think I can do the "takin' apart", it's the "putin' back together" that seems to be the problem! :
  14. Have you tried a deep frier?
  15. And while you're thinking about it, just remember it's worth about $1,000,000 on average. 8-)
  16. Just kidding, I know how you guys are. I've spent some time in Wisconsin, too. You will run out of beer about two days after you run out of cheese and brats! 8-)
  17. Welcome aboard! Maxima is a pretty good line for pan fish. Get the "clear" in 4 lb test for BOTH reels. It is as stealthy as fluorocarbon and much more user friendly. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewmaximap.html 8-)
  18. Welcome aboard! Don't know a thing about the lure, but someone might show up that does. 8-)
  19. I fish for BIG stripers with a Shimano CTE200GT. This is a reel that can stand up to any fish in freshwater.
  20. Well, I never caught better fish. I have caught a few 10s on 6" Senkos, but none on 7s. So, I just don't see any advantage with THESE 7" baits. Catt has had great success with big worms, but his were not Senkos or knockoffs. Size sometimes matters, but with this style of bait, it's all in the action (which includes fall rate).
  21. I fished 7" Senkos for a year or so and still have a few packs that I will occasionally throw. What I have found is that they do discourage smaller fish, but they are no nore productive for big bass than the 6" version. More importantly, for me, the 7" Senko is too heavy to be fished comfortably on my main soft plastics rig (7' MF spinning). I do NOT recommend these baits.

Yeah, this is like your quarterly appearance! Don't be a stranger...good to hear from you. 8-)
