  1. Waylon, Willy and the boys... Way to go! 8-)
  2. I don't have a horse in the race, but I'm more excited about this Super Bowl than any game since the Broncos beat Hotlanta! Eli Manning has put on a show the last three weeks, simply amazing. No one gave the Giants a chance in Dallas or Green Bay. Great Football! On the otherside of the ball, possibly the Greatest Football Team Of All Time! Tom Brady is still a young man and already owns three Super Bowl rings, a fourth ties him with some of the biggest names to ever play the game. New England is a machine: balanced running and passing attack, the best quarterback in the league (perhaps ever), deep threat, patience to exploit what is given and usually flawless execution. A power package on offense matched up with a defense that never quits. "On paper" the Giants don't have a prayer, but that's what all the "experts" said when they faced the Cowboys and Packers. I look for a great game. I don't really care which team wins, but I'm rooting for Gisele Bundchen's boyfriend. : 8-)
  3. I think Ironsilk was so awful, Berkley discontinued the line. I don't find it listed on their website.
  4. Only went once, but it was a two day tournament. I believe it was a brand new Ranger as a matter of fact. However, I fish out of a BayRanger 2180, so I don't think that had much to do with the other aspects of the event.
  5. How 'bout the girls (Jessica and Gisele), are they going to be at the game? 8-)
  6. This thread should help: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1143177139 8-)
  7. Wow! Sam, That's probably a great list, but for me, reading through it was like reliving a nightmare.
  8. Hey fishin hole! Welcome aboard! 8-)
  9. Lake Erie by a HUGE margin! The Great Lakes produce big numbers and good size. Reports of 30, 40...100 fish a day; five fish bags of 20+ lbs. You NEVER get those kind of numbers at Pickwick. What Pickwick and the Tennessee River offers is an opportunity to catch a GIGANTIC fish, perhaps even the next World Record smallmouth! Until the Great Lakes produce their first 10 lb fish, talk of a World Record up north is premature. 8-)
  10. Now that the membersof Avid's Clique have been exposed we gotta watch out for RW's delete button now http://unattributed.net/html/whiskey.html
  11. On some bodies of water, like my favorite pond, the bass are sometimes TOTALLY focused on baitfish. When this is obvious, hard baits always outperform soft plastics. In low light (morning and evenings) this is usually the case, too. For me, soft plastics and jigs are most productive "during the day". 8-)
  12. Reminds me of the "Outlaws" in Country Music. Merle and Willy are still around... :
  13. Man, I wouldn't waste five minutes fishing for green trout when smallmouth are an option! 8-)
  14. Assuming you're in the right place at the right time (pretty big assumptions!), the presentation revolves around action and profile. So, "something different" is always worth a try. 8-)
  15. I just hate the last hours of an extended trip...when you know it's almost over. :'(
  16. Lucky Craft LV-300S. http://www.luckycraft.com/luckycrafthome/Products/crankbait/lv300s.htm 8-)
  17. You guys are killin' me! Sam asks about 5" Slim Senkos and all of a sudden it's Zoom and *** comparisons. When someone complements Brent's fine company, baits and service, do Yamaoto users jump in with "You should be fishing a Senko"? Back on topic...I started with the 5" Senko, but over the years I have found that this bait catches too many fish. I have not tried the Thin Senko for this same reason. The 6" version SEEMS to weed out a few of the smaller fish, although that is not always the case. On average, I do catch better bass with bigger baits.
  18. I would STRONGLY disagree. A HUGE percentage of our members have EXTENSIVE experience with a variety of brands. Although many of us have a strong preference for one over another, this preference in generally founded in our experience over a number of years or DECADES. Brand names are NOT just a sign of prestige, but represent years of performance that has been tested by fishermen on the water. I would guess that 99% or more of those that recommend a particular brand, fish that brand. BTW, I highly recommend Shimano reels and I have a few. : At your pricing point I would suggest a Citica. 8-)
  19. The Shimano Stradic FI was awarded ICAST "Best In Class," for freshwater reels. The new and improved Propulsion Line Management and Aero Wrap II virtually elimininates line twist. Many of the features incorporated in the new Stradic series were previously available only in the Stella reels. Shimano has taken spinning reel technology to a higher level. The "Reel Of The Future" in available now. The Shamano Stradic 2500FI is the "Best Value" in today's market. The other manufactures have no comparable reel at this pricing point. http://fish.shimano.com/catalog/fish/products/group_detail.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302053096&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181270&bmUID=1201268278934 8-)

  21. Some new jigs GMAN made for me! 8-)
  22. Nope, no rules. I generally fish 1/2 oz jigs. Trailers run the gamut: small: GYCB Fat Baby Craw, GYCB double tail grub medium: GYCB Kreature, Uncle Josh Pork large: GYCB Flappin' Hog x-large: Reaction Innovations Beaver Double Wide 8-)
  23. Actually, there are reasons for cranking a baitcaster with the dominate hand: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1187794805 8-)
  24. Welcome aboard! I'm sure you will receive a response shortly. 8-)
