  1. Would that be enforced by the Florida DNR for using two lures or... The Florida Tourist Commission for posting pictures of such small fish? : 8-)
  2. Oh, c'mon... During the cast I (you) can feather the line with your left hand.
  3. Huh? : Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test) Baitcasting gear: Yo-Zuri Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #12 (19.5 lb test) 8-)
  4. First of all, I'm rooting for BOTH teams! Eli Manning and the Giants are the Cinderella Story. Winning against what have appeared to be insurmountable odds. I wish them luck. Tom Brady and his Patriots, perhaps the "Greatest Football Team of All Time". Maybe "THE BEST" quarterback to ever play the game and the magic, Perfect Season. The New England Patriots: 27 The New York Giants: 13 8-)
  5. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Forecast: Daytime high, 57 degrees TVA water release below Pickwick Dam: 42,500 cfs Primetime: Full spawn & pre-spawn 8-)
  6. Super Bowl Friday! ;D ;D ;D ;D 8-)
  7. So, it appears that the specific line determines the applicability of the knot. Now what? :-/
  8. The main difference between any liquid and MegaStrike is the mess. I really can't say that I find ANY attractant particularly effective, but MegaStrike is user friendly with the consistancy of Vasoline. As a lure lubricant it's great! I have used, and still have, several of the Kick'N Bass formulas. I just don't notice any significant difference in terms of lure performance. 8-)
  9. Welcome aboard! 8-)

Talk to the hand http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_to_the_hand_%28expression%29 :
  11. My best "worst story" was hunting geese in an open grain field in Colorado. We had about 6" of snow on the ground, cloudy skies and a slight breeze. After setting up our decoy spread, the guys divided up into groups of four and sat back to back, covered with white sheets for camoflauge. The temperature was -17 degrees. After a couple of hours we decided breakfast and hot coffee might be a better option. :
  12. Hmm... You would be MUCH better off becoming a professional athlete, movie star or rock star! However, if those options are not in the cards, a college education is worth at least $1,000,000 in ADDITIONAL income over time. Is there a better option? Maybe military service for a few years. When you get out you will be head and shoulders above the crowd and I am SURE you will have a clearer picture of where you want to go with your life and career. The services turn boys into men in short order. Good luck! 8-)
  13. ;D ;D ;D EXCELLENT! ;D ;D ;D 8-)
  14. I can't find them on the internet and they are not listed on the Gene Larew website: http://www.genelarewlures.com/Worms/wormindex.html :-/
  15. Can anyone reference a website with actual knot ratings? I have often read that a Palomar Knot, Trilene and Uni are all 100% knots (100% of the breaking strength of the line), but I would like to see this in print.
  16. Welcome aboard! Start with "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page. We have an extensive library. 8-)

Spinnerbaits: Usually none, but sometimes GYCB Double Tail Grub Jigs: GYCB Flappin' Hog, Kreature and Fat Baby Craw; Sweet Beaver Double Wide; Paca Craw; and Uncle Josh Pork. 8-)
  18. This is a great thread for suggestions to add to your collection, but if any of you guys know anything about Catt's fishing results, this is a bait YOU NEED TO GET! I know I am. 8-)
  19. Simple solution: Spinning gear: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test). Baitcasting equipment: Ultra Soft #12 (19.5 lb test). Line capacity is really not an issue for bass fishing. 8-)
  20. If you develope a rash, switch out the Shimano and saddle it up with any other brand of rod and you will be fine! They particularly like to be matched with G. Loomis and St. Croix equipment. :
  21. Stick with Shimano! : 8-)
  22. To expand on the recommendations, I think the SR705R I mentioned is the ideal rod for heavy treble hook lures and deep diving cranks, but I fish two other rods for other lures. For light, shallow cranks I have an Avid AC70MM matched to a Shimano Chronarch. For lipless cranks (Rat-L-Trap type lures), jerkbaits and buzzbaits, an Avid AC66MF with a soft tip. The AC66MF is what I would recommend as an "all-around" rod for treble hook lures. I have mine saddled with a Shimano Metanium. 8-)
  23. I am VERY comfortable with both spinning tackle and baitcasting equipment. I have a Strong preference for spinning gear fishing soft plastics and my baitcaster for jigs! 8-)
  24. George, I would respectively disagree. In my best pond the bass patrol along a drop that is effectively a ledge created when the pond was dug-out many years ago. I have often observed "packs" of four and five bass hunting together along these ridges, swimming in the deeper water, parallel to the shallower lip. I have observed this same activity associated with seasonal infestation of spirogyra. Additionally, schools of bass "chase" (follow) schools of bait fish around the same impoundment. On several occasions I have caught what I believe to be "the same bass" at opposite ends of this ~11 acre pond.
