I fished P-Line 6 & 8 lb CXX for several years and really liked it...until I found Yo-Zuri Hybrid and later, Yo-Zuyri Hybrid Ultra Soft. CXX is no stronger, but is much stiffer and is especially unweildy in cold weather. Memory, coiling and "jumpy" line is particularly annoying on spinning tackle. I would never go back. 8-)

Line capacity is not an issue for bass fishing. I think you will find the 2500FI to be an OUTSTANDING reel! 8-)

The "top brands" achieved their status by building a reputation for quality and reliability over many years, in some cases, decades. Higher quality equipment makes the "fishing" part much easier and more enjoyable. 8-)

Today's "BEST VALUE" is the St. Croix Avid on sale. For an "all-around" rod to use for ALL treble hook lures, I recommend the Avid AC66MF which has a soft tip. You might be able to find this rod for around $100. 8-)

Hmm... Wish I knew. My results below Pickwick Dam were about the same and we fished big shiners exclusively! Never saw a smallmouth. :-[

Man, I don't know where the smallmouth have gone. :'( We ended up having three guests, so it turned into a big party. The first drift was a shutout and never got any better. I caught a fair sized largemouth and a couple of big buffalo, but no smallmouth were caught. After three hours we motored up to Diamond Island so our guests could at least catch some fish. We anchored down behind the island and caught 150- 200 white bass, so the rest of the boys had a little fun. Three more drifts to finish the day, a couple of drum and another buffalo... :-[

I have never missed a Super Bowl or originally, Championship Game. For me, Super Bowl Sunday is the second biggest day of the year, just behind the 4th of July and ahead of Christmas! Yesterday ranks as one of the best Super Bowl games of all-time. Congratulations to Fox Sports, too. Their coverage, personal interviews, special events and "over-all package" was fabulous. Great job fellas! 8-)

To be victorious against what appeared to almost EVERYONE who follows NFL Football, insurmountable odds, is remarkable. Maybe Tampa on the road; but Dallas, Green Bay and New England back-to-back? NO WAY! This New York Giants team executed a remarkable game plan, stepped-up BIG on defense and showed the poise of a World Championship Team on offense. When it counted, Eli & Company out played good teams, perhaps even what could have been, the Greatest Team Of All Time! 8-) p.s. Congrats to Fox Sports, too!

I'm experimenting with original Hybrid #15 on a couple of baitcasters. "Stretch" is not a noticable feature of either line. The difference is memory. In use, the Ultra Soft has virtually no memory. That means that there is some initial coiling from being stored on the reel, but after a few casts the line behaves like braid! 8-)

Huh? : lol... Just kidding you. I'm a broken record... That's ALWAYS my recommendation. 8-)
