I have had a few PMs, so I'm just bumping this notice up.

** ALL MEMBERS - PLEASE READ **
PMs sent were probably received, but may not have been saved. In addition to posts, some threads that were moved, later went back to their original location. In other words, everything that appeared to be "done" was undone!

Walmart clearance
For awhile some of the Wal-Mart stores were carrying Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft. If any of you guys run across 1000 yard spools of #12 for under $10, pick up a couple for me. I haven't seen it around here.

Glenn posted a "Stickie" at the top of the page which you may not have noticed. We are making upgrades to the system which resulted in erasing many (all) of today's earlier posts. They cannot be recovered. To "New Members" in particular, WELCOME! Your posts were not intentionally deleted. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator

St Croix on sale at Cabelas
Now we're talking! When the sale first started you could buy the rods individually, but that changed after a week or so. I'm glad you were able to put a package deal together. I bought a rod myself and have always had good experiences doing business with Reed's. 8-)

Wide Wobble or Tight Wobble?
It seems to me that George Welcome fishes Rat-L-Traps year-around. I don't know how cold the water gets at Stick Marsh/ Farm 13, but I don't think it ever freezes. 8-)

Beech Lake in Lexington Tn
Yes, but you posted in the Smallmouth Section and I don't think the lake has any! One of the reasons Beech Lake is so productive is because all the tournaments fish this and surrounding lakes, but weigh-ins are ONLY held at Beech Lake. All the bass are released there! 8-)

Straight Tail Worms
My #1 worm is the GYCB Kut-Tail. It can be fished on a jig head, split shot rig or T-rig, pegged or not. I generally fish it weedless with a Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook, 1/8 oz bullet weight & bead, unpegged. 8-)

Newbie intro. Plea for help.
The guys fishing at the dam are fishing for sauger. This is NOT for you and your son. It's not at all dangerous, but the technique is fishing a sauger jig tipped with a small minnow. They are fishing just off the bottom, 20-25' down. This type of fishing is too difficult to start with. If you have a boat, you can put in at the TVA camp ground or down river by the Honky-Tonk and motor down to Diamond Island. Anchor behind the island (down river) on the ridge, 20-30 yards off the bank. Buy a couple of boxes of small crawdads ($15 each!). On light tackle tie on a Carolina rig using a 1/4 oz slip weight and a small hook (#4 or #6). Cast and let the bait settle to the bottom, then SLOWLY retrieve. When you find a white bass, you have found hundreds, maybe thousands. You get bit on EVERY cast! If you are keeping fish, the limit is 15 apiece, but you can catch and release as many as you like. Good luck! 8-)

You can do what you want, but dinner is (probably) at 7:00 and my momma told me "Never eat on an empty stomach." Cocktails are a bit earlier.
