I was in the same boat a while back. After handling both of them I bought the Vanford. It felt smoother and was so much lighter than the Stradic.

I have a Chronarch Mgl and it’s a nice reel, but you can buy a JDM Metanium for less than what the Chronarch costs.

Anyone have experience with this rod? Was thinking about getting one for light Texas rigs from 1/8 to 1/4 ounce.

I have the Grunt. I’ve thrown jigs, Texas rigs and Spinnerbaits with it. It’s a nice rod for the money and I’d recommend it.

I think that’s the problem I was having. I was casting too hard trying to bomb crankbaits. I didn’t cast as hard on Sunday and didn’t have any backlashes.

I bought my first Elite a few months ago.I’ve been using baitcasters for 30 year and that reel for me is very finicky to set up, especially after using SV’s the past few years. I finally got it dialed in to where it doesn’t backlash and I’m starting to like it.

Small bass can be caught on any lure. I’ve caught bass that weren’t much bigger than the crankbait I caught them on. Are you sure your bites were bass and not bluegill?
