  1. My most expensive combo was around 500, but most of them average around 250 to 300.
  2. Calcutta's are hard to beat for the money
  3. I do it quite often if it's a lay down or something that I've caught fish at before. Last year at a big laydown, I made about a dozen casts with a jig. Nothing. Picked up my rod with a senko, another dozen or so casts, nothing. Picked up my Squarebill rod and caught a 5lb bass on the next cast.
  4. Beer can chicken I did the other day.
  5. I have no experience with the limited edition but it’s a Tatula 100 reel and a normal Tatula rod with a serial number engraved on it and only 3000 were made of each. I doubt it will become a collectors item worth a lot of money down the road, so I would use them. I have a Tatula 100 reel and it’s a great reel for the money and I love my Tatula rod.
  6. The better question would be “Why use a DC reel?”
  7. My St Croix Mojo Bass 7’1 Mh is closer to heavy but you won’t find it in a combo.
  8. Actually this kit comes with plastic rods that you melt. I’d imagine that using plastic from a bucket or a milk jug would work better for big holes than using the metal screen that comes with the kit.
  9. I’ve caught several bass trying to get a jig unhung from Lily pads. Caught my personal best years ago at a pond trying to free my Texas rig from a snag about a foot off the bank.
  10. The Chronarch is an upgrade over any Lews reel IMO. Im not putting down Lews by saying that, I'm sure they make some fine reels but the Chronarch is really nice. I have 2 of them. I would get that and the Avid X.
  11. The Jdm Bantam is available in 5.5
  12. Daiwa makes their own reels from the Fuego on up. Some of their cheaper reels like the 80 series are made by Doyo.
  13. I’m not sure if you know this or not, but Abu and Lews are made by the same company.
  14. Plastic welding kit from Harbor freight. 16.99. I repaired a foot long crack where the battery sits in my Pond Prowler the other day and it worked great.
  15. I’ve had mine out 3 times since I got it 2 weeks ago. Only thrown a 1/2 ounce lipless crankbait on it so far. It’s a really smooth reel and I’m getting good casting distance. You can’t go wrong with the Coastal SV.
  16. That’s the older Coastal TWS 200. I did see that one seller has the Coastal SV for 184.95 with free shipping.
  17. I fish from the front of my Pond Prowler and the rear does sit up a little higher but it’s no big deal at all, no where close to the water. I fish a fairly big lake in mine and have road out some pretty big wakes and only a little bit of water came in the boat.
  18. It's jdm. You have to order it from Japan.
  19. Everstart maxx group 29. $100 at Walmart. I've had one for 4 years and still holds a good charge. I run my 55lb motor with it all day and have never ran out of juice.
  20. I use all Fluorocarbon on my bottom contact setups but 15lb is the biggest I use. I don't care too much for braid other than for frogs. I like the slack line sensitivity that flouro gives me. I don't use leaders because I'd rather worry about 1 knot failing instead of 2.
  21. I hear ya, my knees are half shot from years of painting.

I do most of the cooking at my house and I enjoy it. My favorite is smoking meat and making BBQ.
  23. I've been a house painter since I was 19 and I'm 48 now. I had my own business for 13 years, never advertised and all of my work was repeat customers and word of mouth. I got tired of the stress and headache of being self employed and went to work painting for a property management company a few years ago. You're right, painting is hard work and good help is hard to find.
