Tell us about a time a bait you struggle with clicked for you!
Mine was the jig and pig. Around 40 years ago, I kept reading about the jig being a great bass lure. I bought jigs and pork frogs. I cast them till my arm was sore and never could catch a bass. One day I was Bank fishing and cast an Arkie bucktail jig with a pork frog trailer near a large blow down. I made one slow lift and got a hit. The bass was around 14". Not big, but I got the idea. I think at first, I was fishing the jigs too fast. Once I learned to slow down with jigs I could catch fish on them. I always carry jigs and trailers with me now, and have caught many bass over the years slowly fishing jigs.

Favorite creature, craw, bait.
I'm fishing really clear water. The smaller Zoom Critter craw ora Baby Brush Hog seem to work best. I mostly go with green pumpkin color, and fish them t rigged.

Social Media: Have we come full circle?
I've enjoyed this site very much. And as has been said, it's run well, with good mods and how Glenn has it going. The rest of social media? I don't care.

Quick fire style spinning.
I still have a Shimano Custom X reel with the quick fire trigger. Now I like spin reels without this feature.

The psychology behind why formerly effective lures get left for dead or almost dead. Long.
I bought many baits years ago based on what tournament fisherman were winning with. Many ended up in a big box of stuff I've kept. I learned that just because a top tournament pro won on a certain bait, that never meant id do well with it. Now, I don't pay much attention to what the pros are using, and just fish what works for me.

The psychology behind why formerly effective lures get left for dead or almost dead. Long.
I used to try to get the latest, best new hot thing. I quit on that years ago. Many of the newer hot baits just didn't work for me, so I put them away. Now, I use stuff that's been proven over years of use.

Do you mainly fish from the bank or boat?
Most ponds and creeks from the bank. Larger lakes I use my wife bottom canoe. I'll say 60% boat, 40% Bank fishing. I like both

Academy rods at the local Farm Store.
The Academy near me used to carry the All Stars. These were dark brown with a decent cork handle. I think they had a couple of spinning rods, and three casting. I almost bought one at one point. They were 49.95. They seemed like good sticks for the price.

Keeping a positive attitude
Good post. Fishing means different things for us .Keeping a positive attitude is very important. Now with my fishing, I'm just glad to be out there doing it. If I catch a good one or several fish, or don't do well I'm still happy.

Do Lures Have To Run Straight? Yes, No, Not Sure & Why?
For my plastic worms, I always want them rigged straight. Some baits seem to do better running crooked or " hunting". The old Storm Wiggle Wart is an example. It never ran straight or true, but caught lots of bass. That was the whole attraction of this lure.

Color vs. Profile
I'm one that thinks profile is more important. We all develop favourite colors over time.

Does anyone retire/sell a rod due to age?
Like others, I have old rods too. I keep them and fish them. I have some pretty old ones. An example is an old Berkley Hank Parker light action spin rod. I think it's around 20 years old. It started as a 5'6, but the tip broke years ago. I replaced the tip and now it's around 5'3. It's caught scores of panfish over the years.

I think your off to a good start. As we age, a healthy diet and exercise are what we need. Good luck with this, and keep at it.

The Lazy Ike Natural Ike
I used them as a kid, farm.pond fishing. They were old wooden and plastic Lazy Ikes from my dad's tackle. Ours were all red/ white color. They ran pretty shallow, and the action was sort of like a spoon. A slow wobble. We caught some fish on them back then. I haven't used one for a long time. I retired my dad's old wooden ones years ago.

What are the most extreme conditions you've ever fished in?

Mine would be a plastic worm also. Straight tail 4" or 6".
