  1. March and April are panfish season for me, my dear - why do you think I have 4 dedicated panfishing rigs, 5 panfish lure boxes, and 2 boxes of 1"-2.5" plastics?
  2. Ya - we still have two little issues here, Katie. #1 #2 - bass season doesn't open until mid-May.
  3. If you've got your drag set properly, you just need to pull some line out if you reel the lure up too close to the tip. I've found that missing the A/R switch isn't a big deal.
  4. I would think "Howes' Hunter" would be more descriptive...and alliterative.
  5. What can I say....I'm good (sacrifices to Gaia don't hurt either)
  6. Another rod I won't buy. I did handle a new Mojo with the Trigon grip.....hated the he** out of it. Why couldn't they have just started a new line instead of messing with my Mojos...and now it looks like another line with 'comfortable' round handles is going away for this new, 'improved' technology I may have to start looking at Ark...
  7. So you're coming out of the closet, Paul?
  8. I wonder if they've taken a count of how many fish don't even make it back to the lake alive after all that. Top 100 did Minnetonka a couple times in the 90s and a number of the pros loved the lake - it'd be great to see them back here again.
  9. Of course I did - combining my love of Star Trek with Bass Fishing.
  10. I think I'm going to give my Rogues a shot this year.
  11. Now all you need is indoor plumbing and you're all set.
  12. Digitaka has been good for me - 6 of my current reels were ordered from them.
  13. That's how hydrogen is produced now. Make a volume of water slightly acidic, run a current through it, and it splits the molecule into hydrogen and oxygen - collect the hydrogen and voila. Getting on the water would need some type of generator to produce the electricity. But you have to compress it - the 2024 Toyota Mirai is a hydrogen powered car that holds 5kg in it's tanks giving it a 400 mile range. Uncompressed, that 5kg would take up 212 cubic feet of space...so they compress it so it'll fit in the car https://www.toyota.com/mirai/ https://cleantechnica.com/2017/06/13/fill-hydrogen-car-home-bond-villain/
  14. There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch - ergo, 2nd Law of Thermodynamics rears it's ugly head, and you're not going to get more out of a system than you put in...less in fact. Inefficiencies in generating the hydrogen, then burning it as fuel means you'll end up with a net negative result over just burning the gas as fuel.
  15. 10 hrs each way for me - and I'd need someone to take care of Nora while I was gone...and available PCAs are as rare as unicorns right now.
  16. And like pure battery powered vehicles - generating the electricity needed to split water molecules to get the hydrogen to power this thing will put more pollution in the air than just running a high-efficiency gas engine. These new non-emission technologies would be great - if we could just get the no-nukes crowd to back off so we can build more nuke-plants....THEN we'd have the non-pollution generation power to make it worth-while.
  17. I've use one on Bass Trek...Pelican 8' pole, cobbled together bracket that's bolted to the stern (cost me about $15 in parts) It's use is limited on my main lake - the shallow areas I could anchor this way aren't the best fishing spots, but a couple of the other lakes it's really handy to have.
  18. Leader - FG at home, Alberto on the water Terminal - MK knot
  19. I hope that warmth gets here soon - after the 50s we had last week, waking up to only 9 this morning was a bit of a shock.
  20. Dude - the monkey is disappointed that there are empty spots on that rack...you must fill them
  21. Well, we got about 4" total...more than they originally predicted
