  1. I gotta get a move on with my reel maintenance...at least the crappie reels for when we get that early open water.
  2. Was still older than you are now - I was 48 when that pic was taken.
  3. I haven't seen them all - but while the **first 3** were very good, they seem to have gone downhill since. The Prequel Trilogy was disjointed in some ways and the Sequel Trilogy was just full of EXCUSE ME - WHAT THE ----!? The Mandalorian gained back some of my interest...maybe stream-rent Ahsoka and Clone Wars one of these days. Only special thing I've done related to SW was Nora and I went to the Star Wars Exhibition when it made a stop at the St. Paul Science Museum back in '08 and I got a pic done with their overlay setup **I was in High School when the one they renamed "New Hope" came out - so IV,V, and VI are 'first 3' to me**

Probably look even better in the mouth of a big bass.
  5. Probably about the same as other rods in that price range - I'm thinking Daiwa Procyon or Fuego. Personally, I find my Procyon L/F to be more than sufficiently sensitive for Ned/Hair Jigging.
  6. I'm of the opposite opinion...cutting your hair is like Samson, you lose your catching power.
  7. Actually don't go beyond 45 degrees. People have landed 100# sturgeon on medium power tackle...even a DD bass can be handled on ML gear if you take care.
  8. What kills me is that's 3x what I originally paid for my house.
  9. Ya - I have the 6'10" MLXF in Mojo Bass (prior to Trigon) - excellent finesse rod.
  10. Pretty much how I do it - but I Macgyver'd a source-spool station from scrap aluminum I had sitting around that clamps to the bench.
  11. They forgot the unofficial motto “Motto” of the Postal Service: Two Postal Tributes Chiseled in Stone Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. While the Postal Service has no official motto, the popular belief that it does is a tribute to America's postal workers. The words above, thought to be the motto, are chiseled in gray granite over the entrance to the New York City Post Office on 8th Avenue https://about.usps.com/who/profile/history/pdf/mission-motto.pdf
  12. Our bump starts today - 20 then 30s starting tomorrow You're ahead of me there - I've just started my reel maintenance cycle.
  13. My '84 Cherokee was easier - shift the transfer case and go...
  14. This Was caught on this Blue Fox Flash Spinner Ya...I use inlines - the Blue Fox pictured above, Mepps Comets and Aglias
  15. Smaller bodies around here...foot safe maybe....but @gimruis - other day I saw someone had pitched their pop-up about 200yds east of Black Lake Bridge....ya, out on Spring Park Bay. Wonder if they went through.
  16. Long as it doesn't get too cold - 0 degrees fahrenheit is the temp that salt water freezes, so that brine won't help.
  17. I said 3x the cost earlier....double that. Took me 3 sheets of 1/2" 4x8 plywood to deck Bass Trek - current price at Menards - $109.95 call it $250 even with sealant, carpet and glue. At my local metal shop - whose prices are cheaper than even Menards - 2 sheets of 3/16" 4x10 Diamond Tread plate in 3003 aluminum would be $1322
  18. What plywood? My transom is a solid piece of white oak - Spar Urethane sealed.
  19. We've just been getting dustings as well - broom has taken care of it so far...haven't even pulled the shovels out of the garage yet.

  21. You can get use to it - first year Nora was up here, she would occasionally whine "I wanna go home". Now she says she wouldn't go back. She was raised in SE Florida - Boca Raton/Ft Lauderdale area.
  22. Siebert, Booyah and Strike King Avatar bass was caught on a Strike King Banshee - DSG/F&S exclusive
