  1. Maybe you'll get what we got coming next week
  2. Probably from running at high speed, following old waypoints and not re-setting the lake depth adjustment on their unit...flying blind.
  3. I know one - Brit, who was my guide on the trip I had last June. Very knowledgeable and personable. She specializes in bass and walleye while her husband takes the pike/muskie people.
  4. It actually would have been Leif - Erik's son - as he was the one to do the Vinland excursions.
  5. And almost 500 years before that, my ancestors set out to see if they could find new lands to colonize...after setting up colonies on Iceland and Greenland...and they found Vinland.
  6. Won't help...
  7. From below zero to above freezing in just a few days

No - just the 'nose-ring'. What happens is the ring 'rotates' inside the knot - the line gets pushed up against the sharp edges of the ring, and gets cut. It's not the ring failing, it's the line being cut by the edges of the ring.

X3 - any lure that comes with a round split ring - that ring gets exchanged for either an oval or a teardrop.
  10. Once I reach a 'promising' looking area on the 25hp, the TM goes down and my eyes flick between three things. Where I'm going - so I don't run into anything The screen of my Striker - so I can see what the bottom is doing/find weedlines/etc Where I cast my lure - so I'm 'on target'.
  11. If you don't have a lot of structure in a lake, then it's use is negligible...but when you got this, it's invaluable...and this is just a small portion of Tonka.
  12. With a beagle or basset, you never know...
  13. Ya...seems that their precipitation kinda snowballed. (ducks back into his hole)
  14. Don't skip ALF's used area - you can find some really good 'steals' there. I myself got two Pflueger Patriarch BCs from there for under $80 each...and those were $200 retail new. Both with a little boat rash, but functionally perfect.
  15. @Steveo-1969 - my oops...
  16. Trade you that part - low of -8 tonight with a high of +5 tomorrow.
  17. For you southern boys - ya. For us...6" is just a nuisance.
  18. Ya - knew that. Station I go to has three different color nozzles...they don't sell E-85, across the street does Black - this is your E-10 no matter the grade Green - this is diesel - separate hose...so no 'leftover' gas in the diesel line Yellow - this is ethanol-free - again, separate hose, so no E-10 gas gets mixed in.
  19. I just did a little nosing around. Most LiFePo4 batteries are rated at '1C' - that means they can't output more amps than their AH rating...ergo: a 50ah battery can only supply 50amps continuous. There are some exceptions, like the Battleborn you mentioned, but most LiFePo4 batteries are restricted in this manner. Of course, I'd never try to run a 60amp TM off a 50ah battery anyway...heck, I'm running my 42amp max Edge off a 100ah battery....I want the time on the water that gives me.
  20. I'd like to see the write-ups on that - AH should have nothing to do with how well the TM runs...just how long you can run it.
  21. Not on the Legend - but I do have the Victory. Light, snappy...I enjoyed using it for jerks this past year.
  22. Dude - come spend a winter...or just a couple weeks in February...up here. Then you'll KNOW what cold is.
  23. ^ What Joe said - YZH has been my jerk and crank line for years. It's a bit thicker than the same pound test in Mono or FC....but it's also stronger. If you planned on 12# in Mono/FC, use 10# YZH. Bingo - that's my main crank line.
  24. I picked up a Bass-X from Amazon (JDM shipped from Japan) for $62. Now it's only the HS (7.5:1) right-hand model. I haven't used it on the water yet, but bench-testing looks promising. https://www.amazon.com/Daiwa-Bait-Right-Handle-Model/dp/B07MJZXQK1?th=1 Stats also say the Bass-X is lighter than the CA...so I don't know if it's the brass vs aluminum main gears that do that or what.
