  1. It's actually 11,842...but who's counting. https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/faq/mnfacts/water.html We don't have a low-income discount at any age...and note, our 'senior' license starts at 90 years old...not 65...other states I'd be eligible for the senior discount for the 2025 season...here in MN it'll be the 2050 season before I pay less than the standard fee.

  4. Gods - I've had the Silverado since 2016 and I think I've put 8k on it since I bought it....I don't drive much.

  6. I think I broke a sweat sweeping the 1/10" that was on the wheelchair ramp out the front door...hardest 5 minutes of this year.
  7. You just need to learn patience, young padawan.
  8. This is a T-Shirt Nora got me last Yule
  9. Warranty return should always be the first step.
  10. Gods I hope not - my gas stove and gas water heater are much more efficient than electric ones are...if I had to move those to electric, my electric bill would go up by more than my gas bill would go down.
  11. Ya - thermostat in our house is set at 70 (Nora gets cold very easily) and our Dec gas bill was only $95...and our oven/stove is gas fired as well, so there's that.
  12. He did say 'Oklahoma rock bass'.... Everyone knows Oakies are a little strange... Nice fish
  13. And got word about 10 minutes ago....mom passed. She's with dad now...which is all she wanted.
  14. We still got major open water here...couple of the smaller lakes in the Tonka chain have re-opened, and the larger bays are almost ice-free. Cooler weather coming, but I don't think we're gonna see any ice-shanties out this year...be nothing but portable tents.
  15. Thanks again everyone for the words of support...and we're still in 'holding mode' for some things M.E. found something 'jinky' during dad's autopsy...still waiting to find out about that. Can't schedule the cremation and memorial until that's cleared up Mom's fading fast...in one way I'm surprised she's still with us...dad was her rock...I didn't expect her to see New Year's. She's not eating, barely responsive...they've put her on 'transitional care' - which is basically doing very little (IV hydration and sugar solution to give her some nutrition, and keeping her clean) and waiting for her to finally give up the ghost. So we're still on the teeter-totter in some ways.
  16. Glenn said it earlier - "I won't offer up anything religious because I know you don't want that." Two words, Phil - Secular Humanist.
  17. Thank you all for the well wishes. We're...coping. Mom is in a new unit, but the hardest part is her asking every 5-10 minutes "Where's Don?" Luckily all arrangements were pre-made - pre-paid cremation and as a Korean era vet, dad gets a plot at Fort Snelling...so no scrambling for that part of it. Sis is taking care of everything as I've got Nora to take care of. She's partially disabled so needs care...though I can take a couple hours here and there for other things...like attending dad's memorial when it's set up. I'm still gonna be fairly absent until everything is sorted...but knowing I got people here I could talk to helps enormously. Thanks again.
  18. Just got notified by my sister who's been taking care of all the stuff for the parents since they went into Assisted Living. Dad passed away about 2 hours ago...mom's 'lost' (alzheimer's is really bad with her) - I may no be here for a bit while I help sis take care of things. Goodbye dad. Dad and I heading out - circa 1967
  19. (whistles innocently) - Ya, used one back in college (late 70s) - Aquatic Biology major...go figure.
  20. All my 2-cycles run ethanol free. End of season, tanks are drained into a spouted can, and that gets put in the truck tank. Always start the spring with a fresh tank in the boat/mower/chainsaw.
  21. Ya - it was in the 12/7 update - click on the link, take the survey...it's done and dusted now 832 is on my Finesse spinning rigs (10# on both - though that's changing this next year), and 20# on my MH spinning rig. I'm loving it on spinning.
  22. Already took advantage of it Add in the $5 credit (one of the baits I recommended in a report was purchased, so I got credit) And the 20% off for filling in the ambassador survey...two spools for $22 + tax
  23. They got that - at $3 for a 2oz bottle...fairly cheap too.
  24. Some acrylic paint with glitter and a clear top-coat? https://www.michaels.com/product/decoart-galaxy-glitter-acrylic-paint-10597827
