  1. Ya - pressure treated lumber doesn't play well with aluminum. This is the mount I built from 1/8" aluminum angles and sheet for the Edge 45 on my boat...it'd work for a Power-Drive. Front of TM rests on the bow-plate and is bolted to the mount. The mount bolts through the deck with two of four bolts also going through the aluminum frame underneath.
  2. And so it begins - DNR COs pulled a couple guys off the ice on Como Park Lake today. The ya-hoos didn't fall through, but one of the COs commented that 'They were very lucky'.
  3. I've been slowly working on this same thing, but putting them in E-Pub so I can reference them on the water with my phone or tablet. All in favor say 'Aye'. AYE!
  4. Things I've learned here in the last 4.5yrs 1) There are many here who are highly knowledgeable 2) Opinions on the best lures/plastics/line vary widely 3) The bait monkey is insidious and relentless.
  5. I do at least general maintenance on all my reels during the winter...some get a deep clean. Hard to do that with the reel still on the rod.
  6. You would be correct - 7.1 and 8.1 respectively.
  7. I built a wall-rack to hold my rods both during the winter and between trips...I don't leave rigs/tackle in the boat. For the winter, reels come off and get stored in a 'rescued' kitchen drawer unit I salvaged when my neighbor was updating his kitchen Both are in a room in the basement that I've dedicated to my fishing gear.
  8. ^ That was yesterday for us, John....7low/33high
  9. Just watch the 'Grumpy Old Men' movies...they were shot here in MN.
  10. ^ 28 and 43 for us...warmest day predicted for the next week
  11. I"m doing okay in general - just some family issues have cropped up the last couple months. Mainly the parents are going downhill pretty quick, but at 89 years old (both) it's not unexpected.
  12. Oh, more than that. When I went to Bemidji State University - once the ice behind the Student Union was thick enough, the maintenance crew would plow off an area. The U gained about 500 parking spots by the education buildings from about mid-December to mid-March.
  13. Or she just added everything up along the way...
  14. As opposed to the Blizzard of '91 here...30" of snow in three days, and I had to drive 20 miles each way all three days to get to work...in a 2-door RWD sedan.
  15. My question is...where the heck are you gonna put the new stuff? Ohhh...you can just 'divest' yourself of the old stuff that's been sitting around...I'll give you my address. Myself - I've been fending him off with my sword...but the gift cards coming in from the relatives for my birthday last week are somehow disappearing.
  16. ^ What altitude were you at...that has an effect. Heck, even Kilimanjaro has snow on it's peak and it's barely below the equator.
  17. So far all we've gotten is a dusting - even the tips of the grass are sticking up through it.
  18. You mean like Ashley? (hubba-hubba)
  19. When I'm pre-rigging my setups the night before, any leaders (not all braid rods get leaders right off...maybe later) are tied with an FG. This is the method I use - and @FrnkNsteen - I use it on 10-15# 832 to 6-8# InvizX without issues. On the water to replace or add a leader - I use the Alberto.
  20. Ya, it's a great little feature...for Bass Trek I've got it set to 3' on the App.
  21. Too bad Pflueger isn't like that - 2 e-mails sent to CS in the last month...still waiting to hear even a notice that they received them.
  22. So he looks about what....70? (runs and hides) When I'm 64... (Ya...that song now fits me)
  23. Poor, deprived southern boy... 64 years here and I've never spent a winter out of the snow/ice belt...an occasional Yule in Florida, but that's 1 week out of the winter.
  24. What part? I spent 6 years in Bemidji so I know exactly what you're talking about.
