  1. Mine are still reel-less in the rack 67 days to Bass Opener....
  2. MUCH earlier - decided to take a little road trip and here's what I found Phelps Bay - my #1 launch point North Arm - my #2 launch point Smaller lakes are open - Black, Emerald and Seton - and the line of 'harvesters' along the SE shore of Black is already in place with all the parking slots along Interlachen taken. Cooks Bay is 80% open - whats left is chunks of honeycomb ice - I even saw a boat making it's way through the ice cover Spring Park Bay is 70% covered - but I could see it move with wave action so it's all slush. I think it's gonna be a week....maybe two...when the Water Patrol declares Tonka as ice-free.
  3. My panfish rigs are all cleaned/re-lubes/re-spooled. Bag is packed...I may even go out sometime this week as I noticed that The Narrows was open.
  4. More than once actually.. How about Lake Nunyamind
  5. I personally use 1000 size spinners for finesse techniques, but many prefer 2000-2500 size In any event - my recommendations for keeping it under $150 Daiwa Procyon 701 ML/XS - $80 Shimano Sedona FL - currently on sale at Bass Pro for $60 for the 2500
  6. Things are progressing - Emerald Lake is 95% clear, Cooks Bay is about 20% clear and what ice is left is very dark. Despite cooler temps the next few days, I think we'll see a clear bay in a week or so.
  7. None of mine made it either - though 2 were in the top 20...
  8. I just print the line type and # test in SMALL using my P-Touch then apply it to the reel. A glance and I know what I'm using.
  9. Sorry - no backsies
  10. When I can find one of these used in good condition at a decent price, I snatch it up - right now have 3 of them Pflueger Patriarch
  11. Two good resources for info Lindner's Angling Edge - Panfish area Flopping Crappie https://www.youtube.com/@FloppingCrappie
  12. You do realize that was almost 3 years ago... And I wish I could - but I gotta stick close to home - semi-disabled wife and no one available to take over from me for long trips.
  13. My shore bag is this one - Rodeel Fishing Tackle Bag Holds 6x3600 boxes in the main compartment, 1x3600 in the front pocket and 1x3600 under the elastic cord on top.Plenty of pocket space and MOLLE system attachments up front.
  14. Obviously the day or two of cold temps isn't affecting the melting much Tonka report Narrows Channel is open - probably see some shore-fisherpeople going after panfish before too long...was surprised there weren't any out there today Small inlets - usually the one's dug for private dockage - mostly open Black Lake - 20%-25% open on the north side. The ice in several of the larger bays is looking pretty dark - expect them to start breaking up soon.
  15. I use to purchase the combo license when I still hunted - losing my right eye ended that. Still buy the full-up license - being on fixed income, I need all the fish I can legally keep.
  16. Exactly - there's five knots I use A couple are rarely needed...Arbor (backing on spool) and Double Uni (backing to mainline) The other three are my mainstays...FG for tying leaders pre-session, Alberto for tying leaders on the water and MK for all terminal connections.
  17. It most certainly does have a CO2 cartridge - it's just the trigger that differs...pressure instead of wetness.
  18. I run Navionics on my Tablet and Phone since my Striker doesn't have built-in maps. If I ever upgrade, it'd be Garmin and Navionics...note that Garmin owns Navionics, so it's a given that Navionics is what they use.
  19. Sometimes the bearing number has no relevance. Take the Fuego CT and Tatula CT for example. Tatula has 2 more bearings - but they're in the handle to make the knobs spin freer...not within the reel itself...so they don't really do anything.
  20. Realize that there's very little difference between the Tatula CT and the Fuego CT...same frame, main gears, spool....just the T-Wing on the Tat-CT...so if you're on a budget...the Fuego CT should also be in the running. Two Fuego CTs and a Tat-CT in my arsenal...all three are solid and dependable.
  21. 16cm is 6" - he wants smaller.
  22. Ned rig - 1/16oz Owner Blockhead, Mr Twister Ned Ringer in Green Pumpkin. Ultegra 1000 on Mojo Bass 6'10" ML/XF. 10# Sufix 832 in Hi-Vis Yellow to 8' of 6# InvizX.
  23. It's a California initiative that makes those labels be necessary...even if the levels are lower than what the EPA says is dangerous, California law says that ANY amount requires the labeling. To save costs, the companies just put the label on everything so they don't have to have two sets - one for Cali, one for the rest of us,
  24. Yesterday we got the snow - just a dusting really - today we get the cold. Currently it's +6 with a windchill of -11 - predicted high is 20...then 50 tomorrow. Rollercoaster this week - Sunday they're saying 67, but Monday will top off at 39 with snow and rain
