I didn't go that far - Bass Trek was originally equipped with a 'butt-seat' up front...after two seasons I was tired of my butt getting numb...so front seat this year is a standard low-back folding seat, just like the aft seat.

Hodgman has a over-the-shoe 'cheapie' hip and chest-waders...I use the hip-waders sometimes when launching/landing. Floppy, loose, but will keep the feet and legs dry...paid $19 to Amazon for mine. Dude - it comes in at around 1.2k with a full load including gas and LW tanks filled on the trailer. Advantage of using 1/16" thick aluminum angle for the majority of the framing...it's very light.

Ya, they're very narrow for their length - 14' has only a 38" beam? My 14' Alumacraft has a 64" beam (60" at the transom) and it still rocks a bit when another boat passes at speed.

Quite a few here remember my canoe - great for being inexpensive, maneuverable and able to get into the skinniest water. However, it just wasn't working for me...so, I sold it for about what I had in it and used that money to help fund the Bass Trek Project. Started with this. And after a winter's worth of work, ended up with this. Total cost about $3k including the new TM, but the Sonar was taken from the Canoe before selling. It's only a 14', but doing the same to a 16'-18' wouldn't be much more expensive.

NOT the type of water I'd take Bass Trek into - now years ago, I DID have to handle that kind of water with the old runabout...but covered bow, full windshield...it was tough, but she handled it like a champ.

I'd stick to the CA - the others are different frame materials despite everything else being almost identical CR - Resin Frame CC - Composite Frame CG - Graphite Frame CA - Aluminum Frame

Pretty darn close - I can't tell the difference physically...though it is a tad lighter. My Patriarchs are still my lightest reels though.

Another reason I avoid Evil-Bay as much as possible - out of date stuff being sold as current. You can find gems there - like the new, replacement Alumacraft stickers I got that were an exact match for the originals put on in 1972 as the one's on it were chewed up.

WD-40 and some heat will loosen them up.

I remember the eclipse of 1979 - was in college and our astronomy class (Bemidji State University) tripped up to Winnipeg, OT to watch it with filtered 8" Celestron telescopes...I was one of the drivers for that. US/Canada border only needed driver's licenses and a verbal declaration at that time.
