  1. (shrugs) Never had an issue using 40# 832 on my Patriarch...different experiences maybe.
  2. They're about the level of the Ultegra (I have one of those in 1000 size), but include a couple technologies you gotta go to the Stradic or Vanford for...I think it's the lowest priced Ci4 framed reel in their lineup.
  3. Ya - one hook among all those arms...silly rigging up all those dummy baits, getting them ripped off continually, and they never go after the one with the hook (MN regulations on A-Rigs - one hook no matter how many arms) Ya - those and a swim jig been my mainstays the last couple years. Same here - more finesse, less wearing my arm out...though I am gonna open the season with jerkbaits...they work for @A-Jay - gotta be something to them.
  4. Haven't gotten it out yet - we still got hard-water here - but my bench-testing of my JDM Miravel 2500 has me chomping at the bit to get out and use it.
  5. Realize that those adapters just let you use a 3-prong plug - they don't actually ground the circuit like it should be. One of the things I did when I bought this place was replace all the 2-conductor wiring with 3-conductor (hot, neutral, ground)
  6. BPS Tournament Pro - about $60 each - https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-100188603 Academy Marine Raider - about $55 each - https://www.academy.com/p/marine-raider-high-back-boat-seat-110368068 I put a Wise on my canoe - current F-9 rear seat came with the boat - pair of high-back seats for $150 - https://boatseats.com/collections/fishing-boat-seats/products/wise-8wd1461-blast-off-series-high-back-seat-double-pack
  7. Doing the electrical work in the house (I had an Apprentice License years ago), I'd call some one instead of trying to track it down yourself unless you have training/experience. Oh - you did that. Ya - electric space heaters are a huge waste of power...lots of current used for very little output. If you need heat in a small space, get a propane heater rated for indoor use...ya, they're out there.
  8. Columbia and Huk long-sleeve shirts, long pants, hat...have several buffs available but only occasionally wear one. Sunglasses - probably at least as important as covering your skin. How do I know? Lost the right eye to cancer due to over-exposure to UV rays...ya, it's not just the skin that can be damaged that way.
  9. ^ That was my first thought as well - if the spring wasn't working, the bail wouldn't close or at least not all the way.
  10. Combo of both of those. There's people lining the shore of Black Lake, North Arm channel, Maxwell Bay channel and the Narrows channel on Tonka all the time...some of them will keep anything they can get even a couple ounces of meat from. When it takes 10-15 fish to make a meal for 3 people...well, they're out there 2-3 times a week taking home a limit of sub-size gills and crappie, eating them that same night, then coming back for more. There's also those who 'stock up' for a week, shuffling a bucket with a limit home, emptying it out, then coming right back the same day for 'another limit'.
  11. There's about five of us who have split personalities.
  12. My gear purchasing for this year is done - 6 new rods, 7 new reels and a fair selection of tackle. Couple minor things left to get, including rain gear, and I'm done.
  13. Little earlier than me. At 5 I was 'stealing' half bottles of Michelob during block parties - dad always monitored me though. At 11 I made a bet with dad on the golf course...I won and he actually got me a 6-pack of Mich. Rules were I could have one after doing yard-work or some other chore that was physically intensive. High-school it was rum and cokes, Kendall-Jackson wine and Mich. My roommate in the barrack in the Air Force introduced me to Guiness and I've been a stout fan ever since. Now-days - Murphy's is my brew, Tullamore Dew and Glenfiddich are my whiskeys and Croft Port is my wine.
  14. Last time I saw Blue Oyster Cult, it was at The Medina...
  15. I can't understand stadium shows - the crowd is huge, you never sit close enough to really see the band-members, and the sound system sucks...and the prices are outrageous for the average person. That's what I loved about the Within Temptation show I went to. Skyway is a smaller venue, I was close enough that I could almost touch the band, and the sound-system is state-of-the-art...and it cost $35.
  16. Ruth's Chris is definitely a go-to if you got the money...they're all over the place. 10th St and 2nd Ave, Minneapolis
  17. I kinda fell into bass fishing - but the two guys who really inspired my fishing overall are Al Lindner and Babe Winkelman...I even met and talked with them back when I was a teen.
  18. I actually tested mine with measured 1/2 gallon and 1 gallon amounts. It had a little variance, but was always within a couple ounces (.15lb on the scale). It's sold under a number of different labels (IBobber, Rapala, etc), but inside it's the same scale - though Rapala tuned their version to 50# max instead of 50kg. https://www.amazon.com/ReelSonar-Digital-Scale-Measure-Gripper/dp/B00W9ME9AE/ref=sr_1_59?c=ts&keywords=Fish+Weighing+Scales&qid=1674653586&s=hunting-fishing&sr=1-59&ts_id=3409051 One thing I did do was immediately replace the hook with grippers on a carabiner.
  19. Prime rib - no question. Slow roast at home when we can spring enough to buy 2-3lbs. 2nd for me is a Porterhouse, while Nora prefers a NY Strip as her 2nd choice.
  20. I vote for the Tennille route
  21. If you're using Safari - my wife's I-Pad gives false security flags all the time. I just use FireFox on all my devices.
  22. What browser/version you using...I popped into their site and none of my security apps raised a flag.
  23. The Genius 10 charger will bring the battery up faster so depending on the battery max capacity and how far down you've discharged it, it might be more advantageous to use it over the Genius 5. Even some based in the US just assemble them here - the main parts come from China as they're the main producer of LiFePo4 cells and BMS boards. I've been very happy with my Mighty Max AGMs and when I have the money to upgrade to LiFePo4 I'll probably go with them again. Will Prowse on YouTube breaks down batteries...literally. He'll tear apart batteries to check components, run tests and let you know if a battery is worth getting. His main focus is on solar systems for homes, but his battery tests are worth it for any usage. https://www.youtube.com/@WillProwse/videos
  24. Define 'numetal' All three I posted have been around at least 20 years - WT for almost 26.
