  1. I just don't trust polygraphs anyway - and they cannot be used in criminal trials. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-nature-deception/202001/do-lie-detector-tests-really-work "The federal government sought an unbiased evaluation of the polygraph, so they tasked the National Academy of Sciences with a full investigation of the polygraph’s accuracy. In 2003, this large team of notable scientists came to the conclusion that the polygraph was far less accurate than the polygraph examiners had claimed. Some scientists have claimed that the accuracy may be closer to 75%. This lackluster performance is the reason why polygraphs are not used as evidence in criminal trials. They just cannot be trusted."
  2. Pigeon - also known as Squab....if you ever ate Squab at a restaurant - you ate domestic pigeon. I've had it, and dove....not bad.
  3. According to this site - you can have 5 hooks in Alabama, unlimited in Virginia. Number of baits isn't specified. This is as of a year ago...so maybe call the DNR/DFW/whatever to be sure. https://hookedinfishing.com/alabama-rig/alabama-rig-laws-by-state/ FWIW: Minnesota we can have 5 baits, but only one hook...so an A-Rig isn't in my repertoire.
  4. I'm not sure how to get the maps to my phone...I'm just doing maps on my Striker of a lake that's already mapped in Navionics that I run on my tablet.
  5. At least he got a message - all I got was a 'white-board'. Figured it was maintenance...thanks, Glenn, for confirming.
  6. This is thread #5 about this - here's the first one.
  7. It's like any other competition - a few bad apples give the whole group a bad rep.
  8. Ya - we got four threads on this now....this the the first one.
  9. Can't go after them anymore - right-hand long-gun shooter and no right eye anymore. But when I did hunt, usually came home with at least two and when a teen up in Bemidji area, one or two spruce grouse as well...course those have to be marinated a bit to get the flavor toned down, but the ruffed were just cleaned and roasted as-is with a dash of spices.
  10. It's the new norm - customer service side of businesses are still down in employees but up in calls/e-mails/etc volume. My local pharmacy use to have 2-3 techs on duty at all times...now they have one and when the line to pick up prescriptions gets too long, they pull someone from another area to just run a register...usually the manager or asst manager.
  11. I hate Lox...if my fish is gonna be 'raw', I much prefer Sashimi.
  12. NE Minnesota - lots of good fishing up there for sure. Myself - a bit further west - Laporte or Lake George would be my preference. Lived in Bemidji for six years and mostly spent my fishing time on Leech or the Straight River in Park Rapids...most of my hunting was in the Paul Bunyan State Forest.
  13. The battery you indicated is actually a dual-purpose...starting and deep cycle. Rated at 50ah - 3 hours sounds about right. That 30# MinnKota will draw 30amps at speed 5, 20amps at speed 4, 14amps at speed 3...the Striker pulls about 1amp average. So at an average speed of 3 with the sonar running, your pulling 15amps - so 3 hours would be 45ah of that battery drained for power. Ya - sounds about right...add to that, on a wet-cell/AGM the lower the charge, the lower the voltage it gives out, so the prop WOULD spin slower. Suggest getting a bigger battery - I have a 100ah group 27 AGM Deep Cycle (non dual purpose) for the TM alone (Edge 45)...but on the canoe I had with a 30# C2 - I had a 75ah group 27 deep-cycle to run the TM, Sonar and a couple electronics...could be out 3-4 hours and still have half a charge.
  14. Oh heck no - not for trout/salmon....grill or broiler.
  15. Ruffed grouse - nothing beats it in my book.
  16. Spinning reels I use Zebco Cajun for backing - 6# test, 1850yds for $6.49 Well, that's what the USDM Fuego LT-2500 states for capacity on TW...and elsewhere...so I'm taking it as US spec line. NOW you know why I don't like 6+ gear ratio spinning reels....I like 23-27IPT.
  17. I'm not talking shallow spools - I'm talking standard spools...you know, 150yds of 6# instead of 240yds of 6# on a 2500 reel. That means only 70-80yds of backing instead of 140-150yds...also means only one large spool of backing line instead of having to get two large spools cause one wasn't quite enough.
  18. Ya - I use cheap backing even when I'm going to put mono on a reel. BUT Smaller spool = less backing, less expense, less time. And I can get the JDM smaller spools for less than the USDM deep spools. Win-Win.
  19. Problem with USDM Daiwas - they seem to think that the users here all want deep spools...
  20. Up here it's old outboard cowlings converted into mailboxes...course doesn't tell you what species they chase.
  21. I'm also in favor of sub 6:1 spinning reels...reason I'm looking at JDM for my next one. They ship 6+ reels here, but have sub 6 model reels available over there.
  22. Ya - schedule for your field....'what's a schedule'. I hear the same thing from a buddy of mine up here.
  23. I'm such a mix it's silly Casting rigs: Bass 2 Braid - 1 never gets a leader 1 Mono 2 Yo-Zuri Hybrid 2 FC Spinning rigs: Bass 2 Braid 1 Mono 1 FC Spinning rigs: Panfish 3 Mono
