Reel speed for jerkbait
Ideal? What ever ratio gives you the IPT you need to quickly pick up the slack after a twitch. I'm using a 7.3 Fuego (30.5IPT) currently with a 7.1 Supreme (29IPT) as my secondary jerk-reel.

What are you scared of?
Are you go down, the pressure of the water means you're actually taking in more air than your lungs can normally hold. At 33' down (34' in fresh water), the pressure is 2 atmospheres, so you've got twice the number of molecules of oxygen, nitrogen, etc in your lungs as you do at the surface. Just a rise of a couple feet if you're holding your breath is enough to rupture alveoli (little air sacs) in your lungs and cause breathing difficulties...if enough aveoli are damaged, you'll suffocate because there's not enough un-damaged aveoli in your lungs to properly do the oxygen/CO2 exchange. Surfing - ya, you're under water, but the air you took in is at normal surface pressure, so no danger of aveoli rupturing.

What are you scared of?
When I got to my first duty station in the Air Force and they found out I was certified SCUBA - they made me one of the trainers for the SCBA gear in our facility.

What are you scared of?
I'm the opposite with this one. Got my SCUBA certification when I was 17. I've dived everything from shallow lakes to several wrecks off Isle Royale. I loved it, it was peaceful and relaxing...you just have to remember one simple rule - never hold your breath even for a few seconds.

What are you scared of?
I can't really think of anything in the wild I've got a healthy respect for any dangerous animal, but not a fear. I've handled rattlesnakes and copperheads; when we lived in MA and took short vacations on Cape Cod, we'd snorkel and look for sand sharks...grab the dorsal fin and hang on for the ride. Manmade however is a different story. I use to free climb cliffs, go to the tops of trees no problem. Get me in a man-made skyscraper and I'm as far from the windows as I can get. Certain bridges get me shaking...I will NEVER cross the Mackinaw Bridge again unless there is NO other choice.

Nope - you have to collect your winnings/sign up for the annuity at the lottery office...and the press hangs around until you do. SOME states allow you to do it as an LLC or Trust, which gives a bit of protection...but it's not absolute.

Only 11 states allow you to remain anonymous - AZ, DE, GA, KS, MD, NJ, ND, OH, SC, TX, VA. For the rest - you become a public figure. https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/anonymous-lottery-states

T Rig Hookset time
Imma gonna leave that one alone, Tommy.

T Rig Hookset time
I feel something, I set the hook...no waiting.

my worm weights are getting tiny as i go.
I know what you mean - I used steel weights before I got hooked on tungsten...comparing the size is unreal...these are both 1/4oz, steel on the left of course. I don't fish currents...well not river currents anyway, 'Tonka does have a modest current running from west (stream inlets) to east (dam that starts the Minnehaha Creek). Clear bottom, light as I can go, as weeds get thicker the weight gets heavier...though I only go to 3/4 an 1oz when pitching into heavy cover. Deeper presentations up the weight too...just to get it to the bottom faster.

Time to respool?
I would have re-spooled WAY before this. I only put 70yds or so of mainline on my spinning reels. Rest is filled with Berkley Cajun - which is a dark red color. If I start seeing Red at the end of a cast, it's time to re-spool, even though there's 60-80yds of the Cajun still on the reel.

How many rods/reels is enough???
The limit is 'what can I afford'. The rod-locker I built in the F-9 could probably hold 20-25 rods...if I put all 13 of my bass rigs in, it's a little over 1/2 full.

HELP
One thing still good about Pfluegers - the spinning reels have three 'rubber' strips going from top to bottom on the hub - the only 'True' braid ready spools out there. The others are just bare metal. I still use backing even on my Pfluegers though - cheap mono (Berkely Cajun) just to save money as I only put 60-70yds of braid on.

B.A.S.S. needs to 'up their game'
So I decided I wasn't going to renew - keep getting e-mails about it even though the only box checked on the list is for Fantasy Fishing...Hello! You guys even look at what I have checked off? In the mail I got a 'Last Chance' renew option at discount. 'Reply By' date was 7/21...it just arrived today...7/27. Somewhere there's an idiot running their membership department.

Punching/Flipping/Frogging
Sound like me - my flipping reel is a Daiwa CA-80. 11# max, I've got it set around 8#.
-
“side to side play”
Yep - that's it...
-
Punching/Flipping/Frogging
I never lock my drag down - even when pitching. Long as you don't 'high stick', you should be alright.
-
“side to side play”
For me, it's setting the tension so that there's just enough 'free play' to allow the spool to move just a fraction side-to-side between the frame sides. Though most times I set the tension for the 'drop-and-stop'...lure drops slowly and the spool stops spinning soon as the lure hits the deck.

I buy a ticket every now and then - doesn't matter what the pot is at, even at minimum it'd help us quite a bit. Wife and I do do the daydreaming thing...toss ideas back-and-forth about what we'd do if we actually did win. I think I contribute maybe $40 a year...since by MN law, part of the state's share of the lottery proceeds go to the DNR, it's something I'm willing to help. Since 1990 when it started up, the MN DNR has received $1.2billion from it's share of the lottery proceeds. https://www.mnlottery.com/blog/playing-our-part-for-minnesota-species

Joining the 'real' boat crowd
So far so good - haven't been out lately because of the too hot weather. I've got a couple minor tweaks to do...plan on doing those today...then Friday is the next planned outing. One thing I didn't notice when I got the motor...the prop was banged up, so a new prop has been installed. Also putting another keel roller on more forward for added support...that's part of today's work.

How many rods/reels is enough???
I'll play again - I've got 16 rigs total Boat: 6 casting, 4 spinning Shore: 1 casting, 2 spinning Panfish: 3 spinning Sometimes I'll take the casting shore rig on the boat when after bass, the panfish rigs are boat or shore depending on where I'm targeting them from.

Talk about a recovery
Good Docs, good treatment plan.

the humble split shot sinker.
Do what you want. To me, even buying old is 'support' for their product...so I refuse to have any WG product in my boxes.
