  1. Ya - I bought a Kirby...gods 35-40 years ago. Lasted a very long time. Finally got rid of it, but still have all the attachments which fit my shop-vac. Otherwise it's just Girl Scout cookies - and we have a sign on the front door. No Salesmen No Soliciation No Political No Religion Basically everyone is banned - and in big letters they're notified that if they do knock, I'll report them for trespassing A few have ignored the warning - and gotten cited and fined...I think word is out cause no one has knocked in almost a year.
  2. As much of a 'fan-boy' as I've been for Pflueger - I'd have to say look at Shimano instead now. The changes they've done have, IMO, downgraded Pflueger reels.
  3. Hopes that the Docs can successfully get her better.
  4. Ya - just starting out. Get a Plano 3600 Weekender, 1-3620 box for hooks, weights and some other sundry items, 3-3607/10 boxes to put a variety of plastics in. @PressuredFishing makes a good suggestion on starting tackle. Don't need to spend a ton on the rod/reel Medium/Fast rod - 6'6" to 7'0": Dawia Aird-X is very affordable and does well above it's price point...I still have 2 Aird-X rods in my arsenal that get used. About $50 2500-3000 size spinning reel: Shimano Nexave is budget priced, but a good reel from reviews. Also about $50 8#-10# Trilene XL or Sufix Elite line
  5. On the schematic I found, it's labeled 'Flipping Lever'. https://www.planetseafishing.com/wp-content/uploads/downloads/shimano/multiplier/bantam-series/bantam-coriolis-100(91-09).pdf
  6. Right now I'm good - only lost about 1/2 dozen Action Tails in Watermelon Red Flake...but considering I started with about 3 full bags...I'm not hurting.
  7. Nothing yet...but I always lose a few every year. Just haven't been out much - hot weather and I don't mix...and with the wife home from the hospital, getting out early morning or the evenings is a no-go.
  8. I don't even have enough spare cash to replace lost lures right now - buying something new is completely out of the question.
  9. I toss my 90s on my crank-rig. Fury 705CB MH/MF - 12# YZH. The 60s I throw on my Fury 703C M/F - 8# YZH
  10. If that's the previous model (with the AR Switch) I'm crying cause I got no money If it's the new model (no AR Switch) - meh...
  11. I miss my last truck 1998 WT-1500 (what they call HD now) 4.3l, 5-speed manual, 2WD Matching topper 19 city/27 highway - and yes, on a trip to MA I got 27.3mpg in that truck (lower coming back as it was loaded to the gills and towing a car behind it)
  12. Another one of my top groups - not an official vid, concert footage overlaid with album track....not my work.
  13. When my favorite Sufix Elite is .012 at 10# - ya, it's the diameter too. At .011 - 8# is iffy - but I'm using 8# InvizX on my President XT-30...and that's .009
  14. Despite all the people who tout BG as a good line - the only thing I use it for is backing on my casting reels.
  15. Not when I don't 'sign in' to the page. If you scroll into your locale and bookmark it then...you'll load up already focused on your area.
  16. Ya, I have the bookmark set for my locale - I even take snapshots, print it out, and mark up the page for likely spots.
  17. Hope you're not doing that here, pal.
  18. Like Tom said above - mono and FC you don't want to go above 10# on spinning reels and less if you can manage it. I actually keep it to 8# and under on 2500 size and smaller reels...only way I go to 10# is on 3000 size. If that President XT is a '30' - that's a 2500 size...the 35 is the 3000 size.
  19. If it ain't a panfish - it gets netted...period.
  20. Ya, that's for one year. I'm into my second year of subscribing to the app...I use it on my 8" tablet. The overlays are a godsend - knowing where the hard bottom is greatly helps. In the app, you can set the depth off-set - if the lake is 4' low, that's what you enter into the off-set and it'll adjust the contour lines appropriately.
  21. Except that even within the same brand/color there's variation in thickness...pretty much it's trial and error at first to figure out how much it needs to be thinned. Once you have more experience, you can almost do it by eye. Base target? Get it to about the consistency of whole milk... 40 years experience using an airbrush on my plastic scale models...
  22. Nature of the beast - all mono/FC will coil...it's just dependent on how much. Of lines I've used... Trilene XL and Sufix Elite are the limpest monos I have experience with...others might know of others. InvixZ and Tatsu are fairly limp FC lines...again, there might be others. In any case - I use KVD Line and Lure on all my non-braid lines...seems to help.
  23. Since I do all my skipping of lures with spinning gear, this is something I pretty much do without thinking now. Learn how to feather line, and the old adage of "baitcasters are inherently more accurate than spinning reels" falls by the wayside.
  24. AOL Chatrooms!
  25. "they mostly come at night... mostly." (dives for cover)
