  1. I can't remember the last time I used a swivel with an inline spinner. My experience - most of the line twist happens when you try burning the spinner...over-speed on retrieve is 90% of the cause of line twist based on my years of using them. And it doesn't take much - a slow roll with a Weed Runner or Covert would be high speed for an Aglia or Roostertail.
  2. Ya - that Cub discount really adds up...had $0.50 off my last fill. Send that a bit south - we're still in the $4.70 range around the lake.
  3. I've been driving with toppers since my WT-1500 that I bought new in 1998...only new vehicle I've ever owned. I get comments about my 'SUV' as both trucks have had matching toppers, so they blend in. And taking them off isn't that bad. Two people can lift it off, which I've done when ferrying large objects...like when I helped a friend to move. Ya, visibility is a little degraded, but on the Silverado that's mainly because all the windows other than the windshield and two front ones are smoked...if I had the money, I'd replace them all with clear.
  4. For bass - Mepps Comet in #3-#5
  5. Another reason I like the full topper on my Silverado. 6.5' bed on mine - I could lay an 8' rod diagonally in the bed if I needed to.

McCormick and Schmick's restaurant in Edina (last time I ate at their place it was in downtown MPLS) They get twice daily air-shipments from all three coasts (Atlantic, Gulf, Pacific) and once daily air-shipments from Hawaii. It's expensive - but the best seafood I've had since I left Massachusettes/Rhode Island.
  7. My extended cab Silverado fits even my 7'6" rods....passenger floorboard to behind my head passing through the arm-rest slot.
  8. Except - if you get close enough to the speed of light, time dilation kicks in and you could easily reach any part of the universe in your own lifetime. (Einstein special relativity...which has been proven in experiments) Course Earth time would 'rush' by compared to your viewpoint...so reporting back would be worthless.
  9. Besides, there are funner things to rub... Wait! What?
  10. Ya - I still occasionally haul out my 4.5" Newtonian reflector and take a gander at whats out there. I also follow several people on Twitter who are at the fore-front of current explorations.
  11. Yet All through time, people have not known the reasons behind something and ascribed the explanation to some 'hocus-pocus'. Then later, someone comes along and explains it...dispensing the need for 'magical reasons'. I'm positive that with the right instruments and given time, dark matter and dark energy will be explained fully.

Not just raw oysters - don't let me near the sushi/sashimi bar...I'll wipe them out.
  13. Thing is - IGFA put a number of Yo-Zuri Hybrid lines through tests...results...they rate them higher than what's printed on the label. I use YZH 12# on my main crank rig, and 4# on my ML/MF spinning small crank rig...love it.
  14. Even 'Rocky Horror'?
  15. ^ Ditto - make sure the tail can spin free before casting. Both my 60s and 90s give me no issues despite others saying that they spin and twist line.
  16. I've been married 32 years and STILL can't say 'No'.
  17. Definitely - Tonka is a madhouse all summer long...and it really affects the fish. I'm looking at trying a couple of the other, smaller lakes in the area...maybe have some better luck there.
  18. It's either a filter or a check-valve (only allows liquid to go one direction, prevents 'splash-back')
  19. I like coffee that bites back.
  20. Ya, when I had my espresso maker - that's about what I used.
  21. That's weak coffee, pal - I use a 1/4 cup scoop, little over 2 scoops for a 12 cup pot
  22. Reason my usual coffee is Folgers Black Silk...
  23. Pure Leaf also has an Extra Sweet Tea - more sugar than the normal one. Our local convenience stores have had both for a couple months now. Does it put hair on your chest, Tommy?
