Joining the 'real' boat crowd
I'm doing about 5 things at once now...but some are 'hurry up and wait' (like being back in the Air Force) Sealing - put a coat on something, wait 12 hours, repeat 3 time for each piece...though I can do 3-4 pieces at a time Carpeting - put glue on piece, lay it on carpet, weigh it down, wait 24 hours, cut 2" around edges, staple to back...repeat for all pieces Painting - prime, wait 8 hours, 2-3 coats of color with 8 hours between coats. Cutting pieces - almost done here, just the hatches in the casting deck to finish then size...need a 7/16" gap to fit the carpet between pieces...like hatch covers Looking for a main motor - might have found one at a local Merc dealer, 1990 15hp short-shaft for under $1000 Anyway - floor is carpeted an in (Posted from my Galaxy Tab-8)

Full cork or split cork?
I actually prefer split-grips to full grips...can't explain why.

Dobyn's Fury Rods - Flukes & Jerkbaits
I'd do both on the 733 I do jerks on my FR703C/Supreme with 10# YZH If I did weightless flukes on a casting rig - it'd be the same rig - right now I toss them on my FR703SF/President XT-LE 30 with 8# InvizX Ya, I like Furys too.

Generational fishing
In Minnesota, you need to get a permit from the DNR to sink any type of artificial structure...that includes things like sinking christmas trees.

Dobyns Fury 735 or Champion XP 736 for frogging/flipping/pitching?
The Champ is a much better rod. My budget only allows Furys though.

Is a 7’1” MF too light for a 1/2 spinnerbait with a 3.25” paddle tail trailer?
1: They're using a Fast action 2: They're swinging for the fences

Is a 7’1” MF too light for a 1/2 spinnerbait with a 3.25” paddle tail trailer?
Nope - MH/MF would be good for WP-75 and 90 - maybe a little heavy for the 60 and a little light for the 110 and 130

Mod-Fast would work fine for spinners and chatters - also is great for crankbaits.

Just don't try to 'swing for the fence' when setting the hook and you should be fine.

I toss my WP-90s on a Fury 704 (MH even though they call it a Heavy) - but the Fury has a softer tip than a true Fast action.

Have you ever attempted a minor rod repair yourself?
If it's not the exact formula epoxy they use - there'd be a color difference.

Have you ever attempted a minor rod repair yourself?
Send/take it back - warranty repair. If you fix it yourself, you void the warranty.

Versatility is the name of the game with a MH - I call it the 'Swiss Army Knife' of rods. A MH/F will do quite a number of things...probably the most versatile rod in any arsenal. I have two of them in my lineup for that reason. Probably not damage if you weren't trying to toss it into orbit - but you're not getting the distance you can get using a more suitable rod.

Good budget swimbait rods.
Daiwa DX Swimbait Rod - the MH is rated for 1oz-6oz lures. Right at that $100 price-point.

Is a 7’1” MF too light for a 1/2 spinnerbait with a 3.25” paddle tail trailer?
Ya - 1/2oz spinner actually weighs more than 1/2oz. That rating is just for the head-weight. Now add the hook, skirt, blades and you're closing in on 3/4oz - the top end of the suggested lure-weight for that rod. Add a trailer and you're really over-loading it. Yep - only time I drop to a Medium power for spinners is tossing my 1/4oz finesse spinnerbaits.

I'll double check that before I lock things down...it's still a bit away. Rate it's going...might be beginning of June before this beast is ready to launch.
