Storing Zman baits (Direct response from Zman)
Long as all baits are in their original packaging, there shouldn't be any cross-over issues. I have Z-Man baits and Zoom baits in their original bags in the same box (Plano 3607)...no issues between them.

Creek channel
That depends on the lake too. Minnetonka has 6 creeks that flow into it at various points. It has one exit - the Minnehaha Creek - at the east end. There are currents caused by the inflow and outflow, but they're very subtle; nothing like the flow you'll find on dam-lakes like Eufaula, Guntersville, Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend, etc. Bemidji, the lake of my teen years, has the Mississippi entering the south end and exiting the east side - the current between those two points is more significant, probably coming closer to those listed dam-created lakes...but only between the inlet and outlet...north end of the twin bowls is much quieter. Having dived Bemidji in SCUBA gear, I can personally confirm that...we preferred the north bowl over the south because of the current in the south. So natural lakes can have currents, but the strength of them depends on the interaction of inflow vs outflow.

Versatile Cranking Rod
My crankbait rig has a 6.3:1 Fuego CT loaded with 12# Yo-Zuri Hybrid Any decent Mono would work fine - Berkley Big Game in 10#-12# would be a good starting line.

Versatile Cranking Rod
Crank and walking baits I do on a Fury 705CB Larger jerkbaits on that too - but the small ones (3/16oz and less) I do on a Fury 703. Your M/F spinner can handle those as I use to use my Aird-X 6'6" M/F for them

Drought and fishing?
MInnesota is in the same boat - while the Twin Cities area is only classified as "Moderate Drought", up in the Red Lake area they're classified as in "Exceptional Drought" with most of northern MN in "Extreme Drought".

I made it fishing today!
Sounds like a good time despite the lack of fish, Dean. Time with the kid is always good. Hope your dad gets better soon. My dad had a pair of stents put in 20 years ago...he's still going strong so I have no doubt yours will be going strong for years yet. If nothing else, I gotta get out shore-fishing one of these days

Remember When
When I was 14, not long after moving from the east coast to northern MN, dad bought me a .22 rifle so I could go rabbit and squirrel hunting with my new friends. Following year he got me a 12 gauge semi-auto shotgun so I could join them grouse hunting. Now-days, giving a rifle and shotgun to a teenage kid can get you in all sorts of trouble.

Remember When
Not only did I have the G.I. Joe - also had a box full of those little army men.

Remember When
Ya - here's a pic of the racer - shifter by right handle, bell by left

Remember When
The bike I traded in for the 10-speed Kabuki Super Light in '75 was a 3-speed Schwinn Racer with the shifter by the right handle instead of centered on the handle-stem.

Rigging up Jigs/Trailers
Takes less than a minute to grab the trailer and string it on the hook. Better that than the oils of the trailer slowly breaking down the skirt bands, starting to rust the hook, etc.

Rigging up Jigs/Trailers
Jig gets tied on during prep the night before. Trailer goes on just before I start casting...comes off when I want to switch lures on that rig, or at the end of the day. I do decide the night before which trailers I'm going to use first...they go into their own box (still in the plastic bags) so I don't have to search.

Keep it or get rid of it? Sporting items we no longer use
I got a few things like that Desk/dresser pair - solid walnut...was my dad's when he was a teen...so 70+ years old...been mine since I was a teen. My uncle JW's last service cap (you'd recognize it, Andy)...he retired as a R-Adm from the USCG in 1961.

Gold Almost Orange LM Bass
Ya - evolution is more about "What the heck, let's try this and see what it does" over "That deer is a little faster than the other...it'll be the one that survives best". While the slower one hides and goes un-noticed, the 'faster/better' one gets chased down and eaten.
