  1. If you get kinks in the line you've weakened it. If it's spooled too tightly, you can compress part of it - weakening it. If it's nicked (check your guides) it's weakened. If it's left in the sun or in a hot compartment too long, it's weakened. I've used InvizX without an issue, it's one of my favorite lines - but it's a bit finicky to environmental stress, far more than mono.
  2. I'm not up to Andy's level, but I'm not doing too bad Upper shelf is my terminal tackle and lures - except the right stack of 3600 boxes...that's my panfish lures and plastics. Second shelf is my plastics Bottom shelf - green realtree bag is my panfish bag, brown realtree bag is for bass lures and plastics if I go shore-hopping strictly for bass - fits 6x3700 or 9x3701 or combo -, the Flambeau box on the right is my plastics overflow (I.E. I only carry 25 of my GP/Black Flake Yum Dingers, the other 70 or so remaining are in there)
  3. We got the same issue here
  4. Except for those of us who are 'weird' - I'm a righty in most things...except for pistols and rods - I'm better having those in my left hand than my right.
  5. Don't hate me for getting a couple Kastking reels - just trying them out, and they were on sale.
  6. I know that - but there's a morphological difference between black bass and 'true' sunfish. Just cause something's common name has 'bass' in it, doesn't make it a bass Otherwise the panfish boards would have to include this little beauty cause it's called a Sunfish.
  7. Ya - Rock Bass are a Sunfish, not a Black Bass...their closest relatives are Bluegill, so they don't belong in the 'Bass' threads but in 'Other Species'.
  8. May 12 (hopefully) for me - I don't fish the weekends.
  9. And we've missed you, pal....good to see some 'old' faces again. As usual, @Glenn posts a video relating to what we're talking about - I truly believe he's got a vid on ANY subject relating to fishing hiding on his hard drive. Me: Get Bass Trek in the water this year, last year the hull never got wet.
  10. X3 for the flouro leader - Gim and I both know what kind of damage Zebra Mussels can incur. Check the leader frequently, and the braid itself if you run short leaders (less than 6')
  11. Chains on Monday, Chains on Sunday, Chains on everyday in between.... I also use a Master pair - one on the coupler/hitch ball connection and one on the Truck/coupler connection.
  12. Looks like a BKK-55 - which is primarily available in Europe Peche in France and Maguro in Coatia were the two places I could find them - About $5.00 to $6.00 plus VAT and shipping per pack
  13. Okuma Reflexions A 7' MH/F - Miravel 2500 - 20# 832 to 10# YZH
  14. Could she tell if it was a Barred, Screech, Horned, whatever? First glance, it looks like a Screech...but I'm not 100% on that.
  15. This hasn't changed since I took classes for my Aquatic Biology major back in the late 70s. Al started his 'Selective Harvest' spiel back in the mid 70s....nobody listens anymore and they should.
  16. I have the predecessor to this and it was a godsend when we had a sudden downpour this past year. Packs small, very waterproof, very light and breathable. https://www.columbia.com/p/mens-glennaker-lake-ii-rain-jacket-2089791.html?dwvar_2089791_size=L&dwvar_2089791_color=012 Columbia Men's Glennaker Lake™ II Rain Jacket
  17. (looks at @A-Jay, looks at the bartender and says) I want what he's drinking.
  18. I dunno about the lower floor, but Bass Trek is pretty stable standing on the raised casting deck...only times I sit are A: My old legs get tired (I'm 65) B; Wake boat passes by close and there's a heck of a set of wake-waves heading my way.
  19. I'm not locked into one brand...mostly. Spinners are primarily Shimano with some Pflueger and Mitchell Baitcasters are primarily Diawa with some Pflueger - and I'm trying a couple Kastkings this year.
  20. I'm a great believer in Al Lindner's 'Selective Harvest'...which is what I think this guy is pointing towards. I know some of the tournaments on Minnetonka take great care to make sure all the fish are released healthy and not at the same point - they have pontoon boats with 500-gallon tanks with recirc and oxygenation that cruise to up to five different spots on the lake to release. So tournament mortality has been severely reduced at these events...and more are taking the same route.
  21. Mine with the 25hp can hit 25mph WOT, I usually cruise to fishing points at about 20mph.
  22. I think some of those weren't in English as I can't understand what they're trying to say. I feel for you Glenn...
  23. Just make sure you got enough TP to last through that 'blizzard'.
  24. Some angle aluminum, some Spar Urethaned wood covered in carpet, some design plans and lots of elbow grease and you can turn that into a real fishing boat....I know cause I did it to my Alumacraft F-9 which isn't much different than that Lowe Before: After:
